This just happen to us this week with Air Transat with our guests flying out of Vancouver - we are all out of Toronto. They changed their flight to the 2 days before ours....um that's not what we wanted - we want them there the same time as us and also not leaving the day of our wedding - so frustrating. Everyone is freaking out til Tuesday when we see what their solution is....

Hey would love to met up but my work schedule changed to weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 3 12 hour shifts) so I can only do Mon-Thurs now Maybe that would work for everyone anyways staying away from the weekends?

I am just getting married there - a lot of paper work but we want it there then in January having an open house with food and drinks so everyone can see the pictures, video and get their gifts we bought them. With the weight restrictions these days we decided to forget about bringing stuff for guests and we ordered cookies with the invite attach to give everyone at the airport when we are boarding I am sure they'll love the cookie on the 4.5 hour plane ride.

I read your story and felt like it was me! I have a 22 year old brother who lives at home and drives a $40,000 car that my parents pay insurance and gas for, pay his cell phone bills and he likes to tell me how to live my life as well! So I know how you feel. We waivered a bit on the destination thing and half way through looked into having a wedding here and it was too much money. That's why we are going away as because that's what we want~ we never wanted a wedding here but looked into it because it would be easier for most people except us...so we are going away anyways. Just try and stay positive and upbeat about it and tell everyone you understand if they can't make it. We just found out my grandma can come now and that's been great! We went in expecting no one to come and it's a lot easier that way!

Hey guys - I would love to get together with you guys too! I am really close to everyone I think ~ in live in Princeton, Ontario about 1/2 from KW and Ingersoll as well. We decided to go to the Sirenis after we spent a week there last February for my fiances birthday. I liked the easy layout of the resort, the food and the people. The first night we were there I went to the front and told them when my fiances birthday was (I was very drunk...) on his birthday we went to the steakhouse and after dinner they bought out a cake, sang to him and brought us campagne! I can't wait to see what they do for the weddding! We were SO happy with the prices as well. My thoughts on my wedding were that we can make it great and the location and resort had to be affordable. Especially in times like this....My sister got married in 2007 at the Melia Caribe and I would never go back there! It was too big, too lush - like you couldn't see anything and too many buildings. The pool at the Sirenis is huge and right on the beach. Not a lot of walking. Any other questions? I actually don't know how to send a PM lol so I thought I would just reply on here lol

I have lost 5 so far and would like another 10-15 before Nov 2009. I agree that oatmeal is the way to go!

I want the 26th but it's too close to our departure date...but I am not American The reason I chose this week was because of the US holiday because I am in sales and its a slow week for me since I sell to the US...

I am getting married Nov 25th in Punta Cana. I sent save the dates back in Nov 2008 I made them myself by using reply cards from an invitation kit (because they had matching envelopes they worked out perfectly) and I added magnets to the backs. We sent out our actual invitations with all the booking information the last week of January. Everyone has til April 30th to put down deposits. We have 20 so far. I have my dress, my photographer booked (he's coming from Canada), all the bridesmaids outfits, the resort booked for the wedding, the wedding favours ordered. I still have to put some thought into the guys attire, get the paperwork translated, decide between real touch flowers or going down their for fresh ones..., lose some weight...weddings are a lot of work and $$ but I am really liking doing it Nice to find other November brides Krista

I am not changing my name either ~ older people make comments but I have think skin and have lots of polite things to say back so I have no issues with my decision. It doesn't bother me at all.

I would have loved to go to Dreams - it's right beside the Sirenis but it was too expensive for our family and we wanted them to come. Good choice!

Hey I am getting married Nov 21-28 2009 in Punta Cana at the Sirenis Tropical. I can't wait but there is lots to think about and it's overwhelming plus trying to lose some weigh to look good for my bachelorette in Vegas and for the wedding!
