welcome back michele!!!! so glad to hear that everything went well!! (minus the cold of course) the picture you already have up looks GORGEOUS!! okay.. new rule.. do NOT listen to brides who are still a few months out. they will freak you out. some of the other dreams brides who are getting married this summer are really worrying me. one of them was reading trip advisor and said that the beach ceremony reviews weren't all great. well, J and i decided even before we were engaged that we wanted to be married ON a beach. i don't like hearing this stuff! also, we have a GM stuck in iraq! he is supposed to fly out saturday, but some of the military flights have been cancelled because of the volcano, so he's not sure if he'll be able to get on his original flight out and then on his flight down to PC next monday. he still has a week left though.. here's hoping he doesn't have too many issues! and happy wedding day to jill!!! including today, there are 10 brides left! we're more than 1/2 way through!

elena.. good luck and travel safely!! maybe we'll see you there! tara.. i'm so sorry there were so many screw ups! makes me a little worried since J's mom is an amputee and walks with a cane or walker and REQUIRES a first floor room (which we have already requested). we also have a GM stuck in iraq because of the volcano. there are only so many slots out every day for military flights and 2 of them have already been cancelled. thankfully he's not supposed to arrive until monday (leave iraq on saturday), so hopefully that whole mess will get figured out before he leaves! also talked to flori from la barcaza and there are no fees for using travellers checks. same as cash and then you don't have to worry about having that much $$ on you.

happy wedding day to wendy, alex and lisa!! and to di tomorrow!! i got J's daughter packed today.. we had a blast doing it actually. she was very much into making piles of different types of clothes. it all got crammed very conveniently into her little princess suitcase! i guess the next step is actually getting J and myself packed! yikes!!

of course.. la barcaza and the huppah.. got em covered for you! yeah, well my MOH decided a month out she was going to bring a date and then we weren't sure if J's daughter was going to be coming or not. it won't make that big of a difference in the cost, thankfully.

i know that travellers' checks aren't recommended for the resort because there are fees for that, but i don't think there are associated fees when you pay a company like that. at least flori didn't say anything like that, so if they are i will certainly throw a fit. we're doing travellers' checks for a portion and then we'll pay cash for the remainder since we still have to finalize it with her... our guest count has fluctuated some in the past couple weeks!

HAPPY WEDDING DAY MEGHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am ALL about the special treatment at the airport.. this is my one chance to do it so i might as well make it worth it, right?! jules, it sounds like you guys had an amazing time! so glad to hear that everything was perfect and you were able to mend the bridesmaid issue before you left! kimmy, your pictures look outrageously beautiful! the fact that your forecast said there was supposed to be rain and it looked like THAT while you were there makes me feel about 100% better! did you fly out of CVG? good to know that they didn't care about the dress bag too! jodi, is all of this volcano mess going to make it hard for you guys to depart? i hope it doesn't delay you at all!! so now that there are so few of us left i am getting even more anxious! my MOH and i have been playing a game where we try to find anything that we can say we've done for the last time before we leave. for example... today is my last friday of work before we leave! anything to pass the time!! i'm so glad for mel and suzy bringing up the end of april strong with me!

elena, there is nothing to fear with flori! she's meeting us at the resort the day before the wedding so we can pay her the remainder (we're doing travellers' checks). i think this is a pretty common occurance actually. i've never heard of anyone having problems with it! our plane lands on the 24th at 6:30, so we won't get to the resort until later that evening. do you leave early the 25th?

AHR invites (now with stamps!) are out the door!! after this weekend my to do list will only have 5 things left, and 2 of them are packing ourselves and packing up stuff for our dogs at the kennel! i'm getting my e-ring cleaned this weekend and i can't wait to see how shiny it looks!!

thanks for the carry-on input, ladies!! thankfully i couldn't care less if someone puts their luggage on top of my dress since it's already wrinkly and doesn't have a stiff corset top or anything. i just didn't want to get the airport with my dress bag and have them tell me it was too big or something! i'll definitely ask if they have any travel options when i go for my final fitting next wednesday! good luck to everyone who is leaving soon!!

elena, will you be there through the weekend?? we get in on the 24th! we should try to meet up!! at this point, i wouldn't risk shipping anything. you never know how long it will take! i'm just wrapping up the vases in bubble wrap and shoving whatever clothes or soft things i can find inside of them. hopefully that will be all that it takes! also, i'm pretty sure every day down there says there's a chance for rain, but from what i hear the showers move through really quick and don't ruin the whole day!!

last minute freak out question for anyone who knows the answer... i know i can bring my dress on the plane with me, but does it matter what it's in? i was originally planning on just carrying it in the dress bag that i'll get from the dress shop, but now i'm second guessing that!!

so so so glad to hear that jodi!! take it easy and pace yourself.. you've still got time!! tara, i can't believe that craziness with your MOH. it seems like everyone's got a nut-job or two they have to deal with! hopefully she will just go off with your other single guest and you won't have to worry about her too much during your trip! i can't believe she did that to your stepdaughter either.. you're not kidding about the immature part! i feel like we're the only ones left!! either people need to get back or someone needs to press the life fast forward button!!

nat, i am in LOVE with those centerpieces! so simple and sweet.. very classy!! did you ever give us an update on whether or not you could still use la barcaza?? glad i could help with the pre-trip booklet too! so far not too many questions from guests except people freaking out that they don't have airline tickets (duh.. online reservations folks). toya i can't wait to see your dress fitting pictures! and from personal experience, making up your planning thread ahead of time is the best idea ever. it would have taken me FOREVER if i didn't start a while ago! i'll probably post mine next week some time.. not that you guys haven't seen practially everything so far! i'm so glad everyone has made goofy mistakes like our invitation mishap.. that's about the extent of mistakes i can handle right now!!

way to go nat!! cross them off your list!! super embarassing AHR invite story... so we ordered our invites a while ago and we had the invites, rsvp postcards and envelopes. well J and i decide to stuff envelopes on friday and he starts to seal them. in my head i know there is something wrong with this, but i was so excited that he took the initiative that i don't say anything. the next day i realize.. we forgot to put stamps on the RSVP invites!! i know people won't send them back as quickly (or at all) if they don't have stamps AND the invites say that the rsvp cards have pre-paid postage. needless to say i had to rip open 100 invites and order all new envelopes just to put the stupid stamps on!!! i was not a happy camper!! if this is the only thing that goes wrong like that though, i'll consider myself lucky!

oh my.. there ARE a ton of people leaving this week! we leave in less than 2 weeks (the 24th) and time can't go by fast enough. i think my MOH is more anxious than i am. every few hours or so i get another message about how much longer we have! it makes the waiting worse i think! happy wedding day to bridej9!!! i kept this list and it is very handy to know who is getting married when. through this coming saturday (the 17th) there are 6 more girls! and welcome back jenna!! i can't wait to see some pictures rolling in! i'm so glad it sounds like you guys had a great time and everything went well!! all i can think about right now is packing! i started to get some clothes together that i know i won't wear before we go, and it's already making me nervous! that's what we have lots of extra bags for i guess! i can't wait for this weekend either because i'm going to have J's daughter help me pack for her. anything to get her excited since we haven't had much of a chance up until now! our legal day is also a week from tomorrow.. yikes!! time moves WAY too fast!

so you all will see that i started this thread almost 11 months ago, when we started the battle of getting my fiance's daughter to be allowed to come to our wedding. since then we have faced a ridiculous battle with her extremely immature and selfish mother who refused to let my future step daughter come. it ended up in court and today we finally got the decision. our whole journey was made worth it when the judge issued an order that she be able to come!!!! SHE'S COMING TO THE WEDDING!!!!!! i don't know if anyone will read this far into a thread this old, but i felt like i needed to say how much the support of everyone on here has meant to me. i knew when we were sitting there today, waiting for the decision, that there was a group of girls out there, who i have never met (but feel like i've known forever) thinking good thoughts and saying their prayers for us. WELL, it worked, and i have to say that i wouldn't have ever gotten through this without these girls! thank you EVERYONE here for your support and making me feel like i'm not the only one who has ever been through something like this, and i didn't have to get through it alone!!!
