Have fun - we look fwd to the pics. I took a bunch of pics during my stay at DPB. I also snagged a few shoots of a small beach wedding that went on one evening. We'll post pics and share our thoughts this when I get off from work.

  10. My fiancee and I are going to DPB this weekend for a wedding. During this time we're going to scope out DPC for our wedding next year. If there's anything we should look out for or recommendations on things to do when checking out the place, let me know. Also we'll take pictures and share them here.
  11. Wow, that's steep. I know there will be a very small attendance at my wedding if the price is that high. There must be a mistake or something.

  14. Congrats! Good to see some Grooms on here I'm in the process of booking a date as well in Punta Cana. After traveling around in the Caribbean a few times, it seems like everything is negotiable I'm sure someone will chime in with their experience.

  16. We are planning to have our wedding at the Dreams resort in Punta Cana and were thinking of giving gift bags to our guest when they arrive. So far the idea is canvas bag with our names and wedding date, beach towel and a bottle of water. Has anyone done something like this? Do you think it was a good idea...suggestions on what to put in the bag and also where to find canvas bags for a good price?

What I mean by this is that a few big electronic stores (eg.bestbuy) have camcorders that people returned. These are sold as open items and can be returned in 14 days without a restocking fee. Not really the honest way to do things but can be useful in tough situations.
  21. Thanks for your write-up and pics. My cousin will be getting married there this Oct. This would be a great time for my fiance and I to check it out in person. Yeah I would do the gazebo too...looks beautiful!

  23. Hey Y'all, My name is Phil and recently got engaged. We haven't or should I say..I haven't thought about details on the wedding but think it would be nice to have it somewhere in the Caribbean. We are thinking of having it sometime next fall/winter in either Cancun, Mexico or DR. I soon realized after proposing that I was just the last piece of the puzzle:) She already has some details of what she wants. The only thing now is to incorporate that in a destination wedding. This seems to be a great forum and I'm sure it'll help us out in the planning.
