I have had 6 people cancel out on not attending, my brother wont be attending because of our argument and that means no ring bearer for him as his son was my ring bearer. One of my groomsmen is paranoid so he is refusing to go, Im soo upset. I will just play it by ear, my MOH is so supportive, she is like Im going to be there regardless of what is going on to support you. Im trying to stay positive and just hope that this all goes away by the time we leave on May 11 I know it seems scary but I think it will be OK, just be sure and pack plenty of hand sanitizer! I'm sorry people are backing out at the last minute. I'm sure you will still have a wonderful time and a beautiful wedding. Good luck and let us all know what happened when you get back home!

It took a while for my deposit to go through (they said they have to give it to their accounting dept, and it could take a little while) but it all worked out for me (so far!). Good luck! Thanks! I hope you're right, I kind of went nuts and emailed 3 times this past week and I still haven't heard back from Cecilia. I guess I just need to be patient, but I still haven't booked yet b/c we need to make sure our wedding date is confirmed.

I had emailed Gaby and still haven't heard anything, so thanks for the confirmation! Should I email the resort or Gaby again?...now we're freaking out that we haven't signed the contract yet and hoping Gaby didn't lose our info...aagghh! any suggestions? thanks so much!

  10. Thank you so much for the advice ladies, I'm absolutely not going to worry about little details anymore...our "reception" is really just going to be dinner and cake and drinks on the beach, after that we're planning on going to a club to continue the party. I will see what Gaby says about the outside photographer if we're willing to pay the day pass, otherwise I think it will be ok no matter who our photographer is. After having a meltdown about our original date being booked I'm not letting anything get to me anymore. I think this destination wedding has made things a lot simpler. I like that I can choose package A, B or C and it will be done. Lana let us know how everything goes, can't wait to hear from another winter bride!
  11. Hi Brides...so Gaby told me that I was not allowed to use another photographer and that I had to use Juan Navarro...but we wanted to use another photog. and when I checked Juan Navarro's web site I was bummed...I feel like I could take better pictures! I don't know if I should keep pushing for another vendor or just go with it...anyone hear about this policy lately? And FYI I'm also planning a beach wedding/recep. even though it'll be in Jan. not sure about the wind factor though, so far everything I've read just says that it gets chilly at night, but still nice during the day...hoping that's true...anyone know? Love reading all the posts, this forum is a Godsend! THANKS A BUNCH!

  13. I was also looking into Dreams PA and filled out the online wedding form last Sunday and now it's Saturday and I still haven't heard from them. I know communication can be bad w/the resorts but I've emailed a bunch of different places and no one was as bad as them...We decided to book w/Dreams Cancun, that was the resort we fell in love with from the beginning. On your wedding website I would also include expedia.com and other cheap travel web sites that people can look at as well as your travel agent info if you have one. Good luck! I know researching resorts can seem daunting but it's worth it, and remember to stay where you and your fiance want to, your loved ones will follow!
  14. Hi Bride I think you should narrow your top 2 or 3 resorts down to show your fiance for where you two will be staying and have different price options to send to your family & friends...that's what me and my FH are doing, staying where we want to stay and then having a couple different price options from the cheapest to middle of the road pricing and also prices of where we are staying for anyone who may want to be where we're at. This way it gives our invited guests a range of options that they can seriously look at and determine if they can make it or not. Good luck in your planning and I'm thinking good thoughts for you!! ~Lea S.
