  3. Hello Ladies! I just got back from 10 days at DPB! We had a wonderful time and an awesome wedding! The resort is beautiful and the wedding was all that we could have imagined! It was so easy to do everything once we got there! We had about 45 of us total and everyone loved it! Melani and her assistant ( I can't spell her name for the life of me) were great! Very sweet! The food was awesome and everyone was very impressed. We had our ceremony (symbolic) as well as dinner on the beach! We decided on the buffet option for dinner since we had so many people. The way they set it up was beautiful. As soon as I can gather pictures I will see what I can do about showing all of you! We are so happy that we chose this resort!

Thanks for your help ladies!! Hi Mrullo! We are getting married at Dreams Palm Beach in March and Melani just sent us the options. Like the other ladies have said, the options pretty much are the beach and the ballrooms. If you have less than 25 people (I think) you can have a sectioned off area of the World Cafe but with this option, they do not allow for dancing or music.
  5. I know the Excellence is Adults only but I don't know if there are any others.
  6. Congrats!!! Thanks for your review. Our wedding is just a little over a month away and we can't wait! I am glad to hear everything went well!
  7. Congrats! I love the pics! Thank you so much for sharing! We are using Michael Steingard too! We can't wait!!!!
  8. I was wondering if anyone else was going to do something like this. Has anyone else thought of donating money to the Red Cross or one of the other relief organizations instead of doing favors? I have gift bags for everyone but we haven't done a favor yet and one of my thoughts was to donate money to help Haiti.

There is not much planning that we can do until we get down there. We have an idea of what we want but will make all decisions down there. Dealing with Melani has been great! She has gotten back to me right away with any questions. Right now we have about 40 people booked and expecting a few more. We are doing a private dinner/reception just not sure all of the details until we get final numbers.

Is it secluded, or does the whole resort see your wedding? Also-- does anyone have any comments about the world cafe? I was thinking about doing a private cocktail reception and then maybe going to the world cafe with all our guests since it can get so pricey for a private dinner reception! Any input on flowers? Use the resort? A local florist? Bring them (real touch)? Any and all information about Punta Cana, specifically Dreams Palm Beach would be sooo greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!! Hi Kburger! Congrats and welcome! There is a thread on here for Dreams Palm beach brides. Check that out and it may answer some of your questions! I am getting married at DPB in 2 months!

Sungoddess, if you go onto Dreams website and go to Dreams Palm Beach under the wedding tab, there is a thing you can click for the wedding packages and it is on page 10 of 21. For a 1/2 day it is $55 and for a full day it is $89. I am going to need one of these too and I am not sure of the process. Check with Melani at the resort and she should be able to tell you what you need to do.
  12. We went and talked to a travel agent first and collected info on different resorts. She had some suggestions for us based on some of our questions and interests. We kind of did what foxytv did and we both decided on an area (Mexico or Carribean) then we each chose our top 10 resorts and we both had the same top 5 resorts and we chose from that. We had some issues with our first choice so we went with out second choice. The 2nd choice did require a deposit. I made sure that the resort had our date available and then sent in the request along with the deposit. It was about 10 months before our wedding that we sent everything in and sent out our save the dates.

  14. We are getting married March 27 at Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana. WE have 29 (including us) booked so far and a few more definites to go. Ordered our OOT bags and some little stuff to fill them, got me and my girls flip flops, our wedding cake topper, our invitations are in and I just have to get them out the door in the next few weeks! Time is Flying!!! SO EXCITED!!!! We got DIY fan programs so I will have to get a move on with those! And we have to decide on favors! All in all I think we are in good shape! Still feel like we have alot to do though!

Thanks ladies! We are getting there on Wed before our Sat wedding for the same reasons as you Chelymo!! I want to get in and settle everything with Melani before most of my guests arrive! I guess all they would need at the resort is a copy of our marriage license....hopefully that will be enough cause that is all I have.
  16. Is anyone planning a symbolic ceremony at DPB?? We are getting married legally at home to avoid all of the translation and other issues and am hoping that a copy of the marriage certificate will be enough for the resort(and that we don't have to be in the country for 3 days). Figured I would ask here first before contacting the resort. Let me know your thoughts!

Are you having a private dinner for your guests?
  18. LOVE THIS! It will come in handy for me while I am at work and a song pops in my head...I can just put it on here while I am thinking about it!
  19. I am also getting married at Dreams Palm Beach! I agree with everyone here! I would say STD's would be first since you want to give everyone enough notice to book their trip! At the same time I would start looking for dresses for you and for your bridesmaids! If you are not using the resort photographer...start looking into that too. Other then that...there is not much else to do until you know who is going! Just BREATHE and relax and enjoy. It may seem there is alot to do but there really isn't until you get closer to your wedding date and can decide on some of the details!!
