  1. By the way - I'm definitely taking my laptop with me to Cancun! I will go through withdrawal without it! Plus, my FI has to take his in case he has to do any emergency work calls (boooo!!!) I'll take advantage of the wifi if it's there though! Tina- I'm getting married on August 1st so I know by that point I will be checking the forum DAILY! If you decide to take it, I can't wait to check out your posts!

We've got 3 guests at the resort already and they state that no one is walking around with Michael Jackson/SARS masks (LOL). We leave tomorrow morning and will arrive around 11:30am. I'll report back with pictures upon our return. Take care, Camie Camie- Have a fabulous time!!! I'm glad to hear things seem to be working out for the better! One of the ladies I work with just got back from MP on Sunday and said things are fine! I'm sure everything will be wonderful!
  3. Thank you to everyone for the gazebo input! I was also thinking of the chapel due to the wind and the pews since we are also having a small guest list, but the Tucan is the closest. One of my reasons for deciding on a destination wedding was to limit stress about this stuff. I just keep trying to tell myself that where ever we end up will be fine! Drtracy - Thank you for the picture offer! I love seeing any pictures of the resort!!! As for the swine flu outbreak, I am right there with all the brides saying that guests are now freaking. My mom called me yesterday and said, "Don't freak out, but...." I thought we finally got over the drug/violence problem and now we have this! My wedding is 3 months away so I'm hoping this goes away before we leave, but now our "certain" guests are even seriously questioning going...
  4. Hey everyone, Does anyone have any opinions about the different Gazebos? I just found out that we are scheduled to be a Bugambilia gazebo and the terrace for the cocktail hour. However, we are scheduled to stay at the newer section on the other side of the resort. I am thinking about seeing if we could be switched to the Tucan gazebo since it is much closer to the Grand Moon section. I would like the cocktail hour to be right near the gazebo though... Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks! Erika
  5. Thank you so much for the review! I have also requested David Pena for my photographer and seeing your pictures really helped! The one with the birds is amazing! We just switched our room block to the Grand Moon side and are keeping our fingers crossed to avoid construction, but like you said the size of the room really helps! I can't wait to see more of your pictures! Thanks again!

This is such a help since I officially decided to switch our block of rooms to the Grand side. I couldn't make up my mind, and while I was trying on my dress I talked to another MOTB and she has a timeshare there and recommended it. I took that as a sign and e-mailed Marlyn. Hopefully I made a good choice! They said that if you need to travel, you can always request a golf cart... Here's hoping!
  7. Wow... On another note 3 months and 20 days to go according to my ticker. Talk about time FLYING by! Yikes!
  8. Thank you for the set up pictures! I wonder what they do with those containers if you have an older package...I am hoping they would just remove them? My guest list number is not very high anymore for the destination wedding, so I'm thinking it might be a better idea to spend more of my budget on flowers for the AHR. I do like some of the set ups though! Fireworks after the ceremony was an interesting addition?

Sarah and Richard, is that the menu for the cocktail receptions Is there an example online anywhere of the spanish books you were referring to? I was thinking of getting them myself!! I was all ready to purchase stuff for the OOT bags, and then stopped since so many people were no longer sure if they were coming. Our flight prices continue to go down, down, down. I'm wondering if it makes sense to cancel our original flight, take a hit for the penalty, and then rebook... On a positive note....my dress is in!!! I have an appointment at 3:00 to go try it on. I can't wait!!! Now my FI just needs to figure out WHAT he is wearing!

But that just means you have lots of time to pick out wedding dress and shoes, bridesmaids dresses, work on invitations, save the date cards etc. And this forum is great, you should get lots of good ideas from here. I didn't find this forum until less than a month before we left. I thought I attached the menus in a previous post But here it is again. Good luck! Sarah Sarah - Thanks for the menus!!!!
  11. Betsy and Sarah - Thank you for the help with the questions! The pics are gorgeous! Betsy - I am also thinking of having my "cocktail hour" extended to two hours and have it serve as the dinner. With all the restaurants being available for the guests their entire stay, I thought it might be a nice change of pace. From what I've read it seems like there is going to be plenty of food. I have been trying to contact someone to get a list of the possible choices for appetizers for this, but no such luck yet. Hopefully by the time I get a more "final" count for how many will be there things will start falling into place. Only 4 more months!
  12. Hi everyone. It's official... I'm also experiencing what many of you have shared.. number of people going to the wedding dropping. Yesterday one of my very good friends shared that he is not sure whether or not he will be able to go now due to $$$. While I KNOW I can't "expect" people to come, it's still a sad thought. I am trying to contact people and share that air costs have recently dropped dramatically!! Unfortunately our airfare was booked when it was high....but since it's $200 cheaper per person right now I'm hoping it may help some who were "on the fence" to join us. In addition to that, I have sent 3 e-mails to my On-Site WC and have heard nothing back! Grrrr. Marlyn told me to inform her if I didn't hear back soon. I don't want to be a pain, but I have some questions that I would like answered! I guess I'll e-mail back and share. I was thinking of seeing if I could be switched to Nancy as I've read numerous fabulous things about her on here. On a positive note, my dress shipped last Saturday and we have the date set for our AHR here in PA. It's all about positive thinking, right

  15. I am using the MP Photographer, but from reading older posts I believe those who have decided to hire their own have had them stay as a resort guest. They would need to have reservations and stay at the hotel as a part of the wedding group. I'm not sure if there is a minimum amount of nights required for them to stay. Hope this helps! Erika
  16. Quick question for those brides who have had/are having an AHR. How are you handling invitations? I need to get out my invitations for the Mexico wedding ASAP, but not ready to send out the AHR ones. Is everyone having 2 formal invitation mailings? Originally we were just going to have a backyard BBQ type celebration since we are returning in August, but now it's looking like we are having a formal reception once we get back. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

I have tried to ask for a map that includes the Grand Moon, but I never get a straight answer! I'm having a difficult time deciding what section to have the group stay at, and was hoping a map with the Grand section would help. No such luck finding one though! Anyone have suggestions as to which section is best to stay at? I was also looking for an update as to when the new section will be officially "completed". Last update I heard was that everything was finished with the exception of the lobby.
  18. Hi everyone! Thanks to a snow day, I have finally accomplished my goal of reading through all of the amazing posts on this forum! I know you all have heard it before, but thank you so much for all of the input you share here! You have managed to answer questions that I didn't even know I had! I will be getting married at Moon Palace on August 1, 2009 at 5:00. I know that as the time continues to get closer to the trip, I will be on here more and more! Questions: I have seen in recent posts that the Apostille is no longer required. However, it says that a certified copy of the birth certificate is needed. Any idea what a "certified copy" is? Thanks again! Erika
