So im still a little confused about whether or not DWs end up with gifts really.... Im assuming some people dont give gifts that are flying all the way down for the wedding. A guest recently asked me if people were still to get us gifts if they are coming down for the wedding. I didnt really know what to say and I left it up to them. Is that what I should be saying and leaving it to their discretion? And on invitations are you supposed to put a little sentence somewhere stating not to bring big boxes down to the wedding ? because yes it seems like common sense but then again it is possible that people would bring items down and i dont think im going to have any room to pack stuff ! so should i print that somewhere? thanks

ok ill take a closer look at that dress. its very pretty. I also love the alfred angelo dresses that u suggested n&n. I was hoping to find a dress that wasnt quite so pricey as all these, but I guess they are all around the same price. The Adriana papell dress that i picked and that the girls thought they were originally gonna get was 138 US so that is why im trying not to go too much higher than that since they all thought they were gonna spend around that amt... but i guess ill just have to talk to them and see if thatll be ok

Well im officially stumped. Ive searched high and low and cute ,short,beachy/not too formal purple or fushia dress but they are so difficult for me to find for some reason! I bought a Adriana pappell shantung dress to test out for my bridesmaids but i was dissapointed when i got it. I dont like the cut of it and it fits funny. it seems like its made for long torso girls they way it gaps in some places, and most of my girls arent very tall Does anyone have any suggestions that they have seen or are using in these colors HELP!! Im so frustrated....

is the gala dinner the same as the beach reception dinner?

Oh thanks for clearing up that 20 people dinner question in ala cartes...i was wondering the same thing!! Hey when you ladies reserved your date did you have to tell them which side you wanted the wedding at (sunset/riviera)? I dont remember them ever asking or me specifying upon paying deposit..... Also for you ladies who recently got married- If you have any pics of your recent wedding to see set-ups of ceremony/reception etc id love to see. Ya it seems like some of the airlines are opening up their dates for next fall finally...but it was the GRP/GSP website that I tried using to potentially book rooms on without going through a travel agent since I dont have one right now, but their website when i put in dates for fall show up as unavailable so thats what freaked me out. But, it must be that they just havent opened their booking for it yet? I just didnt want to book the wedding date and find out there arent rooms available, but it just must be not open to book those dates yet..... I wanted to call the reservation line but calling spain for reservations was not in my agenda today

hey also as another question for you two girls getting married in Nov 09.... I plan on october/novemeber there but I tried booking nights on the GSP/GRP website but they say that none of the fall dates are availble for booking...is it just that their website isnt booking so far out in advance yet? did you girls already book rooms and did you try using their booking website? I dont want to book my wedding date if rooms arent available......

ya thats what im confused about- the 10 dollar charge is what it says in the generic email I first got from the WC, and Im assuming thats for any package you decide to go over the amt of people outlined in the package?

thanks everyone for pics and documents! So I have a question im still confused about.... so lets say i have 50 people. I plan on using the renewal of vows with a beach reception. The renewal of vows says it includes 20 people only. So does this matter if Im doing the beach reception anyway and Im going to owe 92$ a person? OR do I still owe the 10 dollars pp for the ceremony over the included 20 people and then the 92 pp for the reception for every person attending Im still confused. Anyone who is out there have a large group of people and doing the beach reception that can tell me all their breakdowns of costs and clear some stuff up for me? thanks! sam

Hi everyone! So im new here on the GSP thread but after about a month of debating back and forth on a handful of resorts I think im going to choose GSP! I was so excited to read everyones comments here and there is so much excitement on this thread. I havent been to this resort but have been to the area and love it! Just so I give some info about my plans.... Im working on october 09, and I am planning on having a beach ceremony and reception (reception price permitting...). Im planning to have around 50 people flying in from all over the US and also from Canada so im catering to lots of different people and want them all to have a great time ! Can someone also specify about the beach reception...does it come with a dance floor or is it dancing in the sand? and how long does this beachside reception go for? since the restaurant 1.5 hours is so so short! Im trying to nail down my details for the wedding in fall 09 and is it possible for anyone who has info to email me the documents and photos that you have Allie..... Im especially interested in the packet that you have Jessiecuzie and SCzhen......id love to get some photos to view and Id like to definately see beachside set-ups and this canopy people were talking about if someone has a pic of that plz! my email is [email protected] thanks so much to all! im excited now sam

hi there- still one of those girls tyring to lock down my final choice of resort and highly highly considering DT!! trying to get all the details i can esp regarding cost. Can someone clarify something for me.... lets say i get the biggest package available.... do i still owe 750 for a private reception I really want to do a private reception on the beach but i really wasnt clear on if i need to pay this fee above because im trying to add everything up as far as sound system, dance floor etc, and were expecting 50+ people so its all gonna add up fast!!!

Thanks Allimay for the info on the gazebo capacity. Is anyone having a bunch of people for sure and trying to work on dinner costs. I really want to have dinner and dancing and have a beautiful wedding bc Were not having a reception when we get back to the states- and I just am having a hard time how much everything is going to cost me with 50 + or so people. Anyone have it all planned out price wise yet? I wanted a private reception but do you ladies know if it is for sure possible to maybe go for the best pkg but downgrade the meal to silver so that silver menu price for people over 20 can be used? ? I know that sounds kinda like im being cheap but Im expecting a pretty good turnout and im on a budget....
