  1. IN the emails leading up to the shoot consisted of me asking him questions about outfits and his replies. Here is the very first email he sent me: Samie -- of course I have interest, beautiful women come in all shapes and sizes :-) Here's a bit more detail... We are opening a studio for boudoir/lingerie/nudes/maternity and are currently looking for females to come in and have a shoot with us at no charge to you. For your time we will supply you with a small book of photos. The photos will be used in conjunction of starting our business for promotional purposes. If you decide that you would like to do some nudes, but do not want them used in our marketing then we will not use them for our marketing. Basically you need to let us know when you would be available for the shoot, arrive with your hair and makeup done, and with 3 or 4 lingerie type outfits that you would like us to photograph you in. Of course you can always bring an over-sized mens shirt, a football jersey, white t-shirt and boy shorts.... the list and combinations could go on forever. You are welcome to bring a chaperon if you like as long as they are over 18 and can keep a low profile. I prefer that you do not bring your significant other as you will be self conscious during the shoot and that will not lend itself to good photos. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. We are looking to complete all shoots by 4/30 - please let me know if you can make it for a shoot before that date. The only thing I signed was stating he would only use my pictures for promotional/portfolio use.
  2. So, many of you know I had a free BD shoot that was offered to me if I allowed the photographer to use my pictures for promotional/portfolio use. With the session I was to get a free book with 25-30 pictures in it. He offered me a second shoot at the W Hotel in Atlanta if I were willing to give $25 towards the cost of the room (he already had the room booked for another shoot.) So, I did two 3 hour sessions. Keep in mind that before the shoots he was very good about keeping me posted and answering and questions I had. My first shoot was on Friday May 1st and my second one Saturday May 2nd. After my second shoot he said he would have the pictures up by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. May 5th I get an email saying my pictures are ready to be viewed, excited I went to look, 31 pictures to look at......with doing 6 total hours of shooting (around 400 pictures were taken), I was hoping I would have at least double that to view. I emailed him that day asking if he was going to post more, because there were some that he took that I wanted to see. He emailed me on the 7th saying there may have been some more he could post and would in the next couple days. I waited patiently looking every couple of days to see if there were new pictures and nada. On the 18th I get an email saying he had family issues that had to be tended to so he wasn't able to. I felt bad, because I thought something bad might have happened, and let it go. On the 19th I get an email w/ my BD book proof for me to approve and wanted a quote I want printed inside. On the 22nd I emailed him my quote and a question about the price of a disk with all the pictures on it. Later that night I get a email giving me the prices of the disk, one price for print quality pictures and one price for web quality pictures. I think about it, and even discussed with you girls, and decided it was a good deal, but not within my budget at the time. May 27th I sent him an email to him stating that and asked what it would cost for the price of a disk with just the pictures in my gallery along with the pictures he said he would put in there but never did. Later that day I get an email from him saying he ordered my book and to make an offer on the disk. I emailed him back on June 1st stating I didn't want to make an offer and it be to low and offend him among how I felt about not being given the opportunity to look at the other pictures he told me (two or three times) that he would. Or to have the choice of what pictures went into the book. In the meantime, I have been in contact with another forum member, who will remain nameless for her sake, which had her shoot at the end of May and is meeting with him Tuesday of next week to pick up her book. HELLOOO, I still have no book and my shoot was over a month ago. I feel that I have been more then patient with him and deserve to get a disk of all the pictures so I can take my pictures and make my own book with the pictures I choose or the book that he agreed to give me for allowing him to use my pictures for promotional/portfolio use. As you can see from the above novel, I have kept every email that has gone between the two of us, so I am very serious. This was supposed to be an anniversary gift for my FI, which was May 5th, so I did the shoot and told him he was getting something he was just going to have to wait a little while to have it. At the beginning of the Month it was brought to my attention that my password for my pictures wasn't working....curious I went to the site and found that you had to have a password to enter the Atlanta folder, which now only had 1 gallery in it vs. the 5 that were in it previously. Anyway, the point of this long rant is to get your advice as to what action you girls think I should take. I did tell FI what I got him and he has had to deal with my moaning and groaning and thinks I should contact our lawyer and see if I have anything to do. I know there are a few lawyers on here and it would be nice to get some input from you. Thanks for anything you can tell me. And sorry this was so long.
  3. I didn't realize these are satin....I don't think they will work for me. Thanks anyway! They are still pretty pretty!
  4. Would you be willing to split them up? If so what would you charge per dress? Let me know! Thanks!
  5. I am so sorry that you had this experience on your day. He should have taken the pictures YOU wanted...not the pictures he wanted. This day is about you and your FI. When you pay somebody that much expecting to get what you requested and don't get even that....instead you get bad attitudes and bad pictures on a day that you can't relive for better pictures. I hope you have some pictures that you can use and be proud to display. I hope this review keeps other brides from using him and his company.

When I posted this there was not a password required to get into the Atlanta gallery. You only needed a password to get into the individual gallaries. I don't know if he didn't like the fact that I posted my password for you girls to view my pictures or what. I thought he wouldn't mind because it could bring him business in the Atlanta area. I was very happy with the way they came out and I think they are very good pictures. I will see what I can find out!

I hate to lie to her, but I don't want anymore PERFECT SHAPE books coming back to me ruined.
  8. Lisa! I hope your day was fantastic and perfect for you. Congrats and enjoy your honeymoon!
  9. Amanda! If you like those you will like the 'Sookie Stackhouse Series.' The show True Blood on HBO is based on these books. I read 8 books in a week and a half. I couldn't put them down.

I would like to watch them on the big screen and not all pixilated. KWIM?

There are many photographers who would never sell a disc for any amount. I'm surprised he is willing to sell you an unedited disc. Often photographers don't want those getting out at all. a digital picture needs at least a little processing to look it's best. Boudoir needs even more retouching. but, i guess with bodoir he isn't as worried about you uploading unedited pictures to facebook & making his work look bad. Also, you hardly ever get to see all 450 pictures. It's really better that you don't. They take 450 to get the 30-60 that look great. you don't want to see all the throw aways. also, it would take a lot of time to edit 450 pictures. way more time than you'd want to pay for. It isn't the fact that I want to see all 450 images, it's the fact that he has told me 2 or 3 times that he was going to post in my gallery pictures for me that I said I wanted to see. He hasn't done that. I really don't want a disk of ALL the pictures...just a disk of the pictures that he put in the gallery...including the few he said he was going to put in. I am thinking really hard about this, I want the disk, but then again, I don't want to spend that much money.
  12. So FI and i went to Fry's Electronics and saw True Blood season 1 on DVD for $30....he said I could get it....walked it up to the register and then he got a text from the mechanic saying my car was ready and it was going to be $80....$50 more then we thought it was going to be. Needless to say I had it in my hands and it was ripped away from me......stupid BMWs.
  13. Just me...kinda not Savannah...but close enough.
  14. Scott-Pierre - Have you ever been to Marlin Monroe's? Are they any good?
  15. Thanks everybody who has let me know their thoughts. I just wanted to know what was the going rate for something like that. Know that I know the price is average, I'm not as upset. It still isn't in my budget right now. As much as I want those pictures I don't think I will ever get them. Oh well.

I tried. If you buy them online they are $1.65 if you buy three or more pairs....and if you buy more then just the flip flops your shipping doesn't seem so outrageous. KWIM?
  17. This would be the perfect time for you girls to go buy your flippidy flops for your OOT bags or on the beach baskets.
  18. I think that is raffia...you can find it at any Michael's, Joann's, or Hobby Lobby....Maybe even Wal-Mart.
  19. CONGRATS! Have a wonderful time and can't wait to see pictures!
  20. I was there first thing this morning....I went by myself and got 15 pairs! I only had to walk out, take my bag to my car, and walk back in and get more. It was so sneaky of them....the one by my house had flip flops in 5 different spots...so you had to hunt for your size. BLAH! It is so fun to people watch at things like these....kinda like Black Friday!

He didn't offer me a disk with the images on it, just a book. He did upload them to a gallery online, but there is only 31 of the 450 (give or take) that he shot. There are some that he took that I would LOVE to see.
  22. Thank you so much for all of you that have given your input. Looks like I have some serious thinking to do. I want it so badly....I wonder if he has layway....LOL.....or a payment plan. Hummmmmm, I guess I will figure something out.
  23. I don't know....I want the pictures, but I don't want to spend $150 on a disk of pictures that I can't print out and I don't know if I want to just drop it and regret not ever getting to see all the pictures. I think I would feel different if I had asked for all the pictures to be touched up. I have emailed him about putting a few more pictures up in the online gallery and maybe picking and choosing which ones I want on a disk. I am so torn.
  24. Well, I asked him for a disk of unedited/untouched pictures....He said for web quality $150 and for print quality $200. I just think that is a lot of money for a disk with a couple hundred pictures in it. I would like to have a disk of all the pictures because he didn't show me all of the pictures, some of which I REALLY would have liked to see. I want something that I can go back and look at and be like "wow, that was me!" KWIM? And thanks about the comment on my kids....I worked really hard...LOL
  25. Okay, so I asked my photographer what it would cost for me to get a disk with all the images on it, since only 30 or so are in my book. I was wondering how much your photographer charged you for this disk. I want to see a ball park as to what you were charged....or if you are a photographer how much would you charge? Please help me! Samie
