Ok so I just finished "Snowflower and the secret fan" by Lisa See. Definitely not at the top of my list but it was interesting. I just found parts of the book seemed to drag, then it would pick up and then drag again. It just didn't leave me with that satisfied feeling that I normally have when I'm done a book. It was more of a "thank god this book is over" feeling. It was starting to feel like a chore sometimes.

Last night I started "change of heart" by Jodi Picoult. I'll keep you posted on that one!!! I think a few on here have read it and said it was good?!

Rachel, if you're going to hell I don't even want to know what's going to happen to me lol. We were dying of laughter through out the whole ceremony. Anyone sitting behind us could just see our shoulders bouncing up and down lol. But seriously, my grandfather from my mom's side was there as well and even he thought it was ridic. Anyways, hope you all got a good laugh out of that.

Ok here is the bride from the back. Talk about ridic. Seriously this women has THIRTEEN KIDS and was married before. You aren't fooling anyone with that white dress.
Oh and while I was looking for pics I noticed that all the ones of her didn't come out!! LOL Its like my camera was rejecting wrinkles or something lol. I tried to brighten it so you could see her, but you'd really have to see her in person to understand the full comedy of it.
And not that I want to make anyone throw up or anything, but here's the garter retrieval.... gag

There is a wealth of knowledge in there! It's long, but worth the read IMO. Part of the challenge, which you'll discover, is that we all seemed to get different answers from the WC's, but no need to worry! It all works out in the end

I think if the room you have booked meets all of your criteria, why would you want to change it? Hi CG, I had what is likely the smallest DW in history lol. We only had 7 guests plus a baby. We were all early 20's to mid 30's and it was amazing!! I was worried about the exact same thing as you when I was in my planning stages. I thought that a small group wouldn't make it feel like a "wedding". I didn't have anything formal planned so we pretty much winged the whole night and it was a hit. By the time we ate dinner and started dancing we were down to 5 guests because the one couple went back to their room to put the baby to bed. But even with only 5 of us we closed the disco at 2am and it was 4am by the time I made it to bed. I say that if you want something small, stick with it. You won't be disappointed

I made sure that I told all close family and friends first. I think I even waited weeks, maybe even a month just in case there were a few more people that I had to get to. As much as I love technology, that's one of the downfalls.... its less personal.

Sorry ladies, I'm just sort of jumping in here, but thought I'd comment on the budget. I agree, a lot of ladies are doing more elaborate weddings. Mine was "the basics" with only 7 guests. I think it also depends what you include in your "budget" to be able to compare them accurately. I included EVERYTHING. The rings, the week vacation, the attire that I bought for the wedding party, the cost to authenticate documents.... all of it lol. By the time it was all said and done, I was closer to $14K.
