  1. We were so happy with the pictures and video. Michael was more money, but soooo worth it. We ordered 175 pics and had to pay more than the original package price. He edited them and sent them to us on a photo sharing website so we could order/print them on our own. The DVD was so cute too and we were able to burn copies.
  2. Thanks for the info! Did Christopher come back and forth between wedding and reception? Did someone else to the Video then?
  3. You might want to do a welcome dinner the night before the wedding. I have about 30 people booked as well and Chandlyn reserved a dinner at St. Ann's for my entire group the night before at 6:30. I believe this is another buffet restaurant, but at least we would all be together. There was no additional cost to do this. I also agree that I don't want things to be too crazy and having this welcome dinner would be a nice way to make sure you talk to everyone at least another time besides the wedding. I booked Michael for photos and DVD. Although I posted a question about having an outside company from Ocho Rios take pictures to see if we could have them longer and for less money possibly. He is charging me $870 for pics (2 hours 45 min) and $435 for the DVD (2 hours). I did book Mammee for dinner at 6:30. Heard it was great and more private with a larger group. Also booked Seagrape on the beach for 8:00 p.m. It is $10 per person to have a private open bar and $150 per hour for a DJ. I also booked a bonfire for an additional $150. I heard this was nice touch. It sounds like you have a good plan so far!

We were willing to pay for 1 person to go and they in exchange would give us all the pics on a cd (high res) and printing rights. We ended up changing our minds as it was too last minute. It may seem like a lot of money and I had a hard time justifying it as well but my pics turned out great so..it was worth it! Thanks for your reply! If the pics turn out great, than that's all that matters. Can I ask how long you had him for? Did he do the wedding, then come back and forth at the dinner/reception? Also, how many pics did you end up with. My package includes 70, but perhaps that's more than we need. The next cheapest is only 30 pics....
  5. Hi everyone! I reserved the Head Photographer (Michael) at Riu Ocho Rios for my March 23rd wedding date. After talking to other people, I'm thinking he's a bit expensive for what he's offering. Pictures - $870 for 2 hours and 45 minutes (includes 6 prints and 70 pics on CD). DVD/Videographer - $435 for 2 hours I've been told that $1,305 is a bit much for only having someone taking pictures or taping for only 2-3 hours and that these are more typical to prices of someone there all day. Any thoughts on this? Has anyone used other photographers in town that would be better? I appreciate any help on this!!!
  6. Congratulations! The Sandals in Ocho Rios is beautiful! I stayed there last March (where we got engaged). All adults, so romantic! Happy New Year and Happy Planning!

  8. Wow, what a group! That's amazing. I'm looking forward to hearing your review and seeing your pics. I booked Seagrape for my reception in March, but would love to hear how poolside. Have a wonderful time!!!! Congratulations!!!!

I just got married 2 weeks ago and still trying to find where my documents are in the mail service! But no fear ladies- take an extra photographed copy of you passports, driver's license and birth certificate just in case, that is what I did and they got everything taken care of.... I'm mad I went and spent all that money to send the documents and they never got there! Thanks for the info, but I'm still a little confused! So my passport and certified birth certificate (with seal) should be okay. Shouldn't they say "certified" instead of "notarized"? I was married before and have to bring a notarized copy of my divorce decree and documents stating name change. I looked online to find out how to get this and my county states I can order a certified copy of the divorce decree, but doesn't state anything about a notarized copy. Is this the same thing? There are not any name change documents because I just used my old marriage certificate. Am just wondering if anyone else had to do this? If so, can you shed some light on what is needed? Thanks so much!
  10. I was told that Suites are not Ocean Front. I booked an ocean front room and asked about upgrading, but my TA said that we cannot get a suite unless we move out of the Ocean Front category. Does anyone have any info on this? I'd really love to have the extra room and jacuzzi! Thanks!
  11. Cecebecka, We are getting married the same week (I'm on 3/23/09)! I'll have to look out for you and say hi! My fiance and I are doing the Free Package with Dinner at Mamee and are trying to decide where to do the post reception. I didn't even know about the Seagrape or Poolside until I saw this website. I was only told that the Disco was booked and we could do something from 4:30-6:30 after the ceremony and before dinner. I just emailed Chandlyn and Nakeisha to see if I could get something in the evening. I bet it's going to be pretty at night and should be great weather in March! :-)
  12. Wow, that's great you are going for a visit ahead of time. I have been planning alot with Chandlyn already and am getting really excited (yet a little nervous too since it's hard to figure which extras to pick). Please let me know how your visit goes and if you have any advice. Have fun!!!
