  1. I feel your pain, since I've been living with eczema for over 10 years. It appears on my neck and sometimes inner elbow.

I saw a doctor one day, and he suspected it that it was related to food allergy. I took a blood exam, and I found out that I have severe allergy of gluten, eggs and dairy and almonds. I couldn't believe it, because I was fine otherwise and I was eating those things for 31 years. You can see pictures of celiac disease related rashes on the net, and maybe that may help you to identify it as well.

I've eliminated those things out of my diet, and I'm doing much better now. In addition to diet change, I also went to Chinese herbal doctor too.

There's also light therapy called phototherapeutics that my doctor reccomends for skin inflammation and acne. PM me, and I can pass on the info for you.

  2. That's wonderful- congratulations! I wish I can get legally married TOMORROW so I can sign up for my fiance's health insurance and pull out my throbbing wisdom teeth already! But the romantist in me tells me to wait until close to the wedding date...

  3. Well, everybody else said a lot so I'll make it short.

Remember to say "Thank you", "I appreciate you" ,"good morning" and the most importnat- "good night" every day.

It seems contradictory, but thankfulness puts your mind in perspective when you have negative emotions, especially when you're angry. You don't have to mean it, but say it to yourself anyway. Thank anything you can think of- thank that you're married, thank that you're breathing, thank that you have a job (many people don't righ now) My relationship became so much better after doing this.

    Good luck!

Congratulations to your mom- and your weddig is in 2011?!
Apparently, I'm not as eco-friendly as your mom because I'll be using paper for my formal invite. I'll try to use eco-friendly paper and low voc (volatile organic compound- adds to grrenohouse effect) ink though. Currently, I can't decide on the design and it's driving me nuts.

I can add a few more on the list:
    1. Speedy Gonzalez
    2. Discounted drugs
    3. Crazy variety TV shows with people in costumes and half dressed women

I wish you luck on your fancy Beer & Taco fest 09!
  6. Maybride- I think that it's ironic that your fiance propsed to you on a cliff after falling 25 ft! Made me chuckle.

My mom was visiting from the East Coast and my fiance wanted to ask for her approval then- but he came down with a bad cold and couldn't. But after reading your story about how your fiance asked your father's permissin bed-ridden, I have one word to say to my finace- WIMP!

    Nah, just kidding.

  7. Thanks, everyone!

Carla, yes it's a collabo between me and my fiance. I roughed out the sketch, he drew it, and I colored and distressed it in Photoshop.

I decided to email the STD, because I'll be designing and paying a small fortune on the actual invitation. Also, my travel agent told me that the best time to book the trip is by Christmas, and it may take longer than that to print the invite.

I'm planning to do 2 color letterpress with foil emboss, and I was quoted $600 by my printing teacher who ownes a printshop. It's high because I have to have the die made for the embossing and the paper has to go through 4 passes- twice on color, once on emboss, and once on foil. Did I mention that I'm only making 50 invites? And this doesn't include envelope or RSVP card (I'm having people RSVP online). The cost is not so much affected by the number fo invites that I print, but by the intricacy of the set up

  8. It could be the issue of type- some "fancy" fonts are designed by amatures, and can be corrupted. Did you use the same typeface on your Save the dates?

To answer your question on RGB vs CMYK, I was taught to work with RGB first, and convert it to CMYK, since RGB has a lot more colors since it's made up of light, where as CMYK creates colors by combinng just 4 inks.

You may want to bring your file to professional printer as opposed to Kinko's, because majority of the time (from mine and other people's experiences), people at Kinko's don't know/care about printing.

  9. Hi. I asked Valeria, the wedding coordinator at EDR about recent photographer policy. I asked if

-$500 vendor fee covers photographer's meal and drinks

-How many nights he must stay in order to waiver the $500 fee. I think it used to be 3 nights, but apparently they now changed it to 2 nights. Here's the copy of the email:

To sum everything up, If the photographer is staying at the hotel

    -He must stay 2 nights

-There is no $500 vendor fee

-There is no day pass fee

-There is charge for his dinner at private reception

yes for his meal (if he's having dinner with all of you) Correct, and: He needs to show the Hotel (DORADO MAROMA) his working documents, this is called “RFCâ€(in order to declare taxes)

If he's not staying at the hotel

    -There is $500 vendor fee

-There is additional $72 day pass fee for 8HR for my wedding day if he wants food besides the time of the wedding

-There is charge for his dinner at private reception

yes for his meal (if he's having dinner with all of you) Correct, and: He needs to show the Hotel (DORADO MAROMA) his working documents, this is called “RFCâ€(in order to declare taxes)

    I hope this is helpful

  10. If you think about it, if you have a wedding at home and invite lots of people, that could cost even more than having a destination wedding. Your parents may not realize that. You may want to get the price estimate in both situations and present it to your family. In my situation, my fiance is paying for his family, but we asked them to contribute as much as they can.

  11. I alredy live with my fiance and we have everything that we need, so I decided to import a photographer that we really want from Monterrey and have people contribute money towards that.

I used to work at crate and barrel, and I thought it was strange that some people to register for $3 wooden spoon... I've always thought that wedding gifts were meant to be memorable (not that anything is wrong with that!)
