i LOVE them! wish i had done something like that, but instead my crazy fiance sent out an email to his whole family about "beer & taco fest '09" LOL! here it is for your amusement. i swear he's a nutcase. we then skipped STDs altogether, and are moving straight to invites.

Hello All,

Most of you know already that Lisa and I are due to be married next year. That is right! Tom bought a ring, and when Lisa was drunk enough not to realize what she was saying, he asked her to marry him, and she said yes!

After looking high and low for an affordable place to have the wedding the choice became obvious, leave the land of Bush’s tyranny. The next step was to figure out where on the planet to have this momentous occasion. We spent the next several months deciding where to go away to. After visiting a travel agent and looking for the most affordable place for everyone we came to the decision of Cancun, Mexico.

Cancun, you ask? Why would you choose Mexico? Well there are 3 reasons why we chose Mexico:

  1. Corona. Who doesn’t love a nice Mexican cerveza?
  2. Tacos. I love them!
  3. George Lopez. He is one funny guy. I would like for him to marry us.

It is for this reason we are not going for the traditional "Lisa and Tom’s Wedding." It is officially going to be titled, "Beer and Taco Fest ’09."

We hope that all of you will be able to share this awesome occasion with us. Emails and invitations will follow with information about the exact dates, prices, and locations for May 2009.

Tom and Lisa[/i]
I can add a few more on the list:
  1. Speedy Gonzalez
  2. Discounted drugs
  3. Crazy variety TV shows with people in costumes and half dressed women

I wish you luck on your fancy Beer & Taco fest 09!

Congratulations to your mom- and your weddig is in 2011?!
Apparently, I'm not as eco-friendly as your mom because I'll be using paper for my formal invite. I'll try to use eco-friendly paper and low voc (volatile organic compound- adds to grrenohouse effect) ink though. Currently, I can't decide on the design and it's driving me nuts.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
