Hmmmm, now what if your MOH (sister) and mother want to throw you a wedding shower for their close friends who can't celebrate the wedding with you in MX. They're mostly family friends. I also have some friends who've said from the get-go that they cant go to the wedding but want to celebrate whatever we decide to do at home (shower, reception etc). My mom insists her friends dont care if they weren't invited to Mexico they want to come to the shower. I'm very uncomfortable inviting ppl coming to the wedding to the shower b/c it looks like i want gifts! And I really don't!! But I want them to be apart of any celebration we have. Can I have 2 invitations, one for my mom's friends with a registry and another for ppl. coming to MX stating they are coming only to eat and drink?!!!... And not mention that I'm registered anywhere. Is it weird to have some ppl. bringing gifts and others not? Ahhh...!

Post Groom and GM attire
mayanbride78 replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
There has been a lot debate between myself and my FI around what the groomsmen should be wearing! Are your groomsmen wearing jackets? ties? And do you think a short sleeved linen shirt is too casual? I don't want anyone to spend a lot on what they're wearing since they are spending the money to come to MX so I've suggested to my FI that we buy the groomsmen shirts for them as a groomsmen gift. I did that with the bridesmaids and bought their dresses for them. -
I was surprised when Rebeca told me we have one option for the dinner reception. There is also a vegetarian menu too. I waiting to hear back from her as to whether we can send her our dinner choices about a week beforehand. Also you are allowed to bring your own centerpieces and table runners and napkins-- No charge. I asked if I could bring my own lanterns to hang from trees (las palmas terrace) and she said there is a charge of $70 to hang them.

EDNA--THIS IS GREAT! Thanks for saving me time

Decorations-----FYI: If you plan on stringing paper lanterns across your reception area (they have white) It will cost you $70 US!! That is, if you're having your reception dinner at Las Palmas terrace. ALso, if you want to borrow tall vases that will be $20 US each. I'm really surprised and think that's a cash grab....I'm bring my own centre pieces with me and am wondering if they're going to charge me for that too??!

And even though you pay his airfare his prices are so reasonable. I would totally recommend him. I know another girl on the dreams pv forum is also using him (autjo). Also Dino Gomez is running a sale right now for BDW members (he is a vendor on here) and he has great photos to and lives in Mexico. Hope this helps! Thanks for telling me abt Nathan!! His work is great! I really like his style. Hopefully I can use him.

I just emailed Rebeca and she got right back to me : ) She said that you should be there 2 days before your wedding to plan the wedding if it's a non-legal wedding. Diana (old co-ordinator) told us we had to be there 4 bus. days prior regardless of whether it was legal or not. I'm just happy the 4 day rule doesn't apply to non-legal weddings!! Nor does the blood test : ) Jess is your ceremony going to be legal?

Most of my guests are flying from Vancouver I really dont want them to pay more than $1600 taxes everything included for 1 week - AI!!

I too am from vancouver and agree that not having all the details with these packages is annoying!! My wedding day is reserved for N0v 27th 2009. I dont really know your resort but your prices seem a little high to me. I think I'm going to go with Signature for hte features you mentioned but I'm not prepared to put a deposit down when the flight details and departure day could change. It's frustrating!!

Back from Dreams PV!

That's a relief for me! -
I appreciate seeing how everyone has gone abt booking. THere are options...I just can't seem to get a package deal with a firm contract yet "b/c it's too far in advance". My TA says the departure day could change and this won't be confirmed until June which really doesnt help since I have to be at the resort for 4 full business days before the wedding day. I have to leave on the Nov 21st or the 22nd and can't have it a "probably be ok" situation! I'm getting frustrated and thought that I'd be booking by now! But I was told too I had to put down $150/room to block my rooms and that nothing is held for me until I do. But why would I give my TA money if the package contract isn't a confirmed thing and dates might change etc.?! Has anyone heard how firm Dreams is on this 'be there for 4 full days before your wedding'??
