  1. Hello - We're also chartering a Catamaran. All of our friends are going, all the boys and girls together! There's snorkeling equipment on the boat and also some fishing equipment... so everyone can do what they like. I think they will take us to some secluded beach to just chill out and sunbathe for a while. CATAMARAN CYNTHIA 38' The max for our boat is 23 pax - although it'll be pretty tight. I'm going through Luis Mucino at Bloodhound Charters: [email protected] I actually went to see the boat (it's docked at the marina near the aiport, but they can also come pick you up at los muertos!), and it's in great condition. We're taking it in the morning from the marina, then they're dropping us off at los muertos in case some ppl want to stay downtown afterward. You can rent for 4 or 7 hours ($850 or $1,100) for 10 ppl. Then you pay $40 for each extra person...those were 2008 prices though and I beleive they increased for 2009... Hope this helps! Gilda
  2. I ordered ours from Discount Mugs... I looked everywhere and they were the most affordable. They arrived a few weeks ago and I'm really happy with them. The quality is great. I already took some down to Vallarta in a carry-on. I just took them out of the box they were shipped in and didn't have any breakage problems AT ALL because discount mugs packaged them well. I really don't think it was difficult carrying them down. The only thing I regret is that in Mexico I saw they can personalize shot glasses for you - they take the glass and make a silver plaque that personalized and then pasted on the glass. IT LOOKS AMAZING! but i saw it near guadalajara and don't know where in Vallarta they could do it
  3. no bridal party either... But for you girls in the same boat, who will hand you the rings I'm confused about that...
  4. Hi: i just came back from Vallarta - I visited HSA and it was much more than I expected. I went with very high expectations and they were met and then some. I know there was a negative comment about the owner posted previously. All I can say, is that she was lovely with me. She's also extremely efficient! She's more on the serious side, and I think some may misinterpret that. She's being very helpful and is very on top of all the arrangements. Anyhow, I'm now even more excited about my wedding!!!!
  5. Hi! I haven't been in the property persay, but I know the area very well. It's maybe a 10 - 15 minute taxi cab ride from downtown, but you can walk from the hotel to the Marina where there are tons of great restaurants. It's not directly on the beach, but the beach club is really private and cute. There's a pool there with waiter service, etc. I've heard great things about Casa Velas and I'm sure you could have a great wedding there.
  6. Hi! I don't think you should be matching the white gold with Platinum. It will look very similar now, but the white gold's color will change with time and then it won't match your engagement ring. My FI got my ering in the diamond district in NY, you can get great deals there but you have to be careful of some worksmanship.... if you're planning on any trip to the NY area prior to your wedding, I would definetely recommend the diamond district bc they can make anything you want for you at a much better price or same price, but better quality. If you're interested, I can send you the store we are dealing with. I'm thrilled with the finished product and have had other jewelrs compliment the worksmanship.
  7. hmmm. ok, then this isn't so far fetched. thanks for the reality check
  8. So, I'm trying to nail down the music for my wedding next march. I'm having an intimate ceremony with 20 guests at Hacienda San Angel. My ideal scenario would be: Ceremony (1 hour): trio Cocktail hour (1 hour): mariachi Dinner (3 hours): DJ The problem is that HSA has informed me that the HOURLY rates are $195 for trio $600 for mariachi $250 for DJ That's insanely expensive for hourly rates! or is this normal?
  9. Thanks all! I think I will stick to red roses and keep it simple and romantic.
  10. Kathy: Why do you say there are some obstacles for Casa Carol Ann? I booked it for my wedding in March, I did visit it last month though. I'm planning on having my ceremony/reception elsewhere (Hacienda San Angel) but I'm housing all my friends (and us) at Carol Ann to enjoy a whole weekend of fun together.
  11. Has anyone used Franco Gonzalez? He was recommended to me, but would love any feedback. Any other recommendations would help too!
  12. Does anyone know what flowers abound in Puerto Vallarta? I want to choose flowers that are native to the region. Am thinking of white calla lillies with a bright red or blue flower... Any advice helps! thanks, Gilda
  13. Karahmia: Thanks for your reply. I would love to hear how everything goes for you when yu return. I have contacted Janice already. I'm just hesitant to book, as I haven't seen the place in person. I was just in vallarta 2 weeks ago, but this didn't come up until after But, I may be going at the end of this month, so I might wait until then. I'm just nervouse my date will be taken... ah! Have you tried the food there? Gilda
  14. Hello! I'm thinking of having a small, intimate ceremony at HSA followed by a dinner there. I would love to here if the owner has been helpful to those that are planning there before I book. Did she give you any discount on the site fee? I really didn't want a big wedding, was just going to elope and have a big after party with friends at a villa in vallarta. But, now we might have a small ceremony and dinner at HSA. I just don't want it to spiral out of control or have to deal with a million details. But, if HSA is helpful in getting flowers, music, cake, photographer and can help with details, then I'm happy
  15. Hello All: I'm planning my wedding in Puerto Vallarta for March 13, 2009. We're doing an intimate gathering of 20 people and are trying to keep the ceremony itself and reception extremely simple. We just want to party and have fun with friends for the whole weekend! hope it doesn't spiral out of control! Gilda
