  1. Thank you both! Ugh, it's just so freaking rude... he said he heard from someone who had read the books. He is probably totally confused, I was too mad to check his source. Stacey, you're friends with Yael right? I just met her on Sunday and she mentioned you

Ok, i regards to the STD's. I know you said you are not a girly girl, BUT a dark fuchsia would look gorgeous with burnt orange. Just hints of it. Look at Kittenheart's accent color in her flowers. That would be gorgeous. Also, as crazy as it sounds, I think lime green would be a fun "pop." And lastly, and maybe my favorite...turquoise (like a deep turquoise)!!! That would look amazing!!! Any jewel tone will look pretty with burnt orange. I work in medical sales for a division of Johnson and Johnson called Depuy Mitek. It is a Sports Medicine company. I absolutely LOVE my job!! Obviously, it is still a j-o-b, so it is not perfect. But it is very flexible. I am able to run it like my own business...no micromanaging, etc. My boss is great too! It's nice working for a small company within a huge company. If I could have any job...I would be in fashion and graphic design. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE fashion and design and everything that comes with it. Unfortunately, living in Alabama is not conducive to having a career in fashion. I used to be a branch manager for Wells Fargo...my hours were very similar. I was technically salary, but they would divide it out hourly and pay me overtime plus bonuses. It was a great experience, but I am definitely appreciating my flexibility now. UM YES! Fun!!! How fun! I want to love my job! It's mainly my boss that makes it hell sometimes. I have zero flexibility with my job Quote: Originally Posted by msmarmar123 Quote: Originally Posted by KittenHeart Yes I went to Le Blanc on Katherine's recommendation!! You two totally made me email my TA and request info on that resort as maybe our 2nd week switch...as of right now we have decided to stay in one place...and FI doesn't really want to go to Cancun (I don't know that I for sure do either) All I think is Spring Break and craziness...convince me I'm wrong Sorry to be blunt but you're wrong! Especially in February when you're going, it will be pretty dead out there. D and I went March 2008 and stayed in Cancun @ The Royal and we were worried as well, that freakin' hotel was EMPTY and there weren't really that many people out in the city either. Spring break is end of March/April I believe. U of M is my first choice especially because I can get in-state tuition prices. Maybe not scary but intense at times? It would definitely take a tough person to handle it, I'm sure you've got it LOCKED down!
  3. Can I freaking RANT for a second?! I'm literally on Amazon about to buy the books, I asked my husband if he'd read them with me to which he says "probably not". He read the Twilight series faster than anyone I've ever heard of and I say, "ok fine, I heard the book series was really good" to which he says... "Yeah but ______ dies, so..." !!!!!!!!!! Did he just ruin the whole effing series for me or what?! I'm so mad about this, he's sleeping on the effing couch tonight.
  4. We too paid 100% and didn't mention our parents, especially since mine weren't in attendance.

The other thing I got was a custom made Batman garter. My FI is a HUGE 60's batman fan. Peterene worked so hard to find the pictures to go onto it - plus she added words like "Holy Matrimony Batman! " So cool! I am still waiting for this to arrive too. I cant wait to get my latest purchases - I guess they better come soon since I leave in a week and a half. I also bought hair flowers, hair clips and cufflinks from there. - I love Etsy! LOL the Batman garter wording is HYSTERICAL! He's going to absolutely love it
  6. Wow that's a sweet deal on both! I may just do it. The t-shirt BTW is a steal!
  7. Lindz - No kidding right? Le Blanc was totally my #1 choice, my guests couldn't afford it (when I was looking at prices) though so I chose cheaper. The prices really aren't too different now though. Needless to say, everyone was jealous I went to LeBlanc after! haha!

From Halloween last year when I was Sookie I can't wait for Sookie to band Eric... it will be like a lovely little TB porn night!
  10. Love it!! Imma Be is probably my favorite BEP song! How fun, the one of you two dancing in is just hands down my favorite, your husband's face is just priceless! 32, 33 - I love too.. it's like he's just holding his breathe and then relaxing Thank you!! I totally didn't check my YouTube account for comments! First time using it to upload my own videos
  11. LOVED Sunday's episode! OMG, I would love Eric to float outside my window any night of the week... sigh! Alcide can KEEP that shirt off, I hope Sookie bangs a werewolf!

I basically only work 8-6/6.30 (unless I have a trial or something - sometimes things get hairy). Unlike others, I do not LOVE my job. But I don't hate it either. They suck and it never get's easier to get up early! What type of lawyer are you? I definitely don't love my job either, my boss is... unique. I do love sales, my ideal is clothing design, I take sewing classes and a hugely fashion obsessed girl! I have a crazy eye for sizing up men and picking out what looks good on them, it's odd actually. I think that's a wonderful idea, I'd even tell people that you hope to have an AHR one day, that way it shows that you want to include everyone but there's no commitment or definite. My job use to be salary plus commission but Cali laws got enforced and now I'm hourly plus commission to to my income bracket, DH is salary plus commission because he makes more than me. So he just get's the same when traveling, mine would be by the hour.
  13. Awesome jobs ladies! Glad you love your jobs, that's always nice Amy - 6am - 5pm or 6pm, 7am would be soooo nice. No gym, no long lunch, no errands no nothing. Just me and my over time. I take a 30 minute lunch and that's it... aside from BDW of course Our company gave us unlimited over time for the month of July and are pushing us to use it... I'm in sales so there's no lack of things to do ever and the more you work, the more sales so they like to crack that whip! Glad to hear your sticking with AB!!!
  14. Shannon!! I love them so much, Claudia is so talented! Here are some of my absolute favorites - 32, 33, 36, 47, 67, 68, 102 What song did your wedding party dance into, love the picture of you and your husband! Looks like you guys had a blast and just just as sweaty as my wedding, man it was hot!

FI wants to post something on our website saying we have decided to go with just immediate family and bridal party..is that ok or super tacky? I think it's a combination of both Well, I was in the same boat. I invited everyone KNOWING they wouldn't come. I sent them all save the dates and never sent them an invite. No one complained at all and they even decided to throw me an AHR. I would just not say anything and don't send anything. Let it play out, I doubt many people will approach you about it. If they do, tell them that due to financial reasons you've decided for it to be immediate family only, people really can't complain especially if it's financial.
  16. Oh I should probably post what I do... haha. I work from 6am - 5pm or later (as of late) at a Software Manufacturer in Corporate Sales for the Northeast US. My husband works about 7ft away from me in the same department as a Corporate Sales Manager for the North Central US. He travels, I don't.
  17. I know you B2B's don't want to stray from wedding talk but if you don't mind indulging me, what do you all do for work? I know what Amanda does but that's about it!
  18. Thanks Meredith! Chris is wonderful, my husband has made me promise no more photos until I'm pregnant though... I'm sure I can figure out something in between

It took me a long time to realize that you can't and won't make everyone happy. So it's your wedding, if you don't want to invite people, don't invite them, plain and simple. If people ask, just let them know that your budget affords a smaller wedding and unfortunately you can't afford to have everyone there that you'd like. I would be perfectly honest and if you need to explain further (which you shouldn't, it's YOUR wedding) just tell them, it's his first marriage and his family is the priority due to finances. I was actually yelled at by a "friend" at a bar for not inviting her to my wedding, we've never been close and we don't ever hang out. I told her I really only invited people who I thought would come and I just didn't think she'd come or be too interested as we wanted to keep it small and intimate. I then told her, if she would like to come, she's more than welcome to which she responded, "well NO, I'm not going to come but you should've invited me!" Yikes. Well, needless to say, I'm really glad I didn't invite her.

I don't want to wear full on stiletto heels, but am planning to get an ever-so-slight kitten heel or wedge. Tho' I'm generally quite comfortable in heels I am one of those people who always manages to get my heel caught in boardwalks etc. and am curious if I should avoid the small kitten heel altogether. (Already having visions of tripping down the aisle - not a comforting mental image). I had the wooden runner up on the Sky Deck and right before I walked down the aisle my coordinator says to me "walk on your toes you don't fall on the aisle runner! You're heels could get caught" Whew, I did that and I was fine, my bridesmaids however stumbled a bit. Quote: Originally Posted by bigboponthebeach Hey Ladies! I cannot believe I am posting this on a public forum, but I am having issues with my Mother and she has been making this wedding planning a nightmare as opposed to something fun. I'm her firstborn and only daughter and I guess my expectations of her involvement were/are a little higher than her perception. Anyway, I'm channeling and processing it all and working on beginning to accept that although she has the funds, she just might not be at or involved in my wedding. It hurts, but it is what it is. I just never invisioned my wedding day without my Mom being front row and center stage. Lots of lessons to be learned in life. Moving past the drama and resisting the urge to emotionally dump here....and back on to weddings!!! We got our STD's back and out in the mail. I will be honest and say that I was on the fence about them and almost hesitated to send them out. We found an awesome seller on Etsy and while I loved all of her other work and samples, I don't think my idea translated over well via email. I wanted something very natural and organic. I love raffia and we are using Burnt Orange as our main color with sand brown and white as accents. After seeing our STD's, I am starting to think we might need another bright accent color. I am a tomboy and not a big fan of pink, so that color is out, although I have seen other weddings and I think those two colors are beautiful together. Any suggestions of an accent color to go with burnt orange that don't give off a "fall wedding" feel are greatly appreciated. Because I know how much we all love photos, my STD's that I sent out are below. We placed thins self-adhesive magnets on the rear so that people could place them on their fridge if they chose to. Any ideas for a pretty accent color?? Well if you want it understated you could do the burnt orange and ivory or a light green if you don't want it girl? Take your STD to a store with different papers or envelopes and hold it next to it and see what you like. Quote: Originally Posted by bigboponthebeach LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this video! I made a timeline with activities daily and put it in each OOT bag and told everyone to be @ the Mojito Lounge by 7:30pm, not private. Everyone showed up to hang out and drink, even my photographer! I bought name tags and my MOH went around and put people's name and title (Aunt, Uncle, Bridesmaid) on everyone and they all mingled and got to know each other it was fun! There was an Abba tribute band playing which was hysterical but everyone was dancing. Le Blanc in Cancun. I really wanted to move to Cancun so we could walk around the city and experience the gorgeous ocean. AS is in the middle of the jungle, you couldn't walk to anywhere excpet a neighboring resort from it so I wanted to stay in an area we could go check out local attractions and that blue, blue ocean.
