We are handing out our OOT bags before we go. I want to put a card in each bag thanking everyone and explaining what the bag is about. I am at a loss of what to put in the card. Can anyone help me out or share what they did? Thanks..

There is so many... Chocolate, Vanilla, Mocha, Strawberry, Carrot, Almond and more. Then there is the icing to choose from and then the filling and then how many tiers.... So many choices. I would just email her and ask her for the list. She has been very good at sending me any info i have asked for!!!

Has anyone had their hair and make-up done at the Renova Spa at the Riu? I am undecided about Renova and Susan Morel. I would like to stay at the resort on the day of the wedding and not have to worry about getting back in time. I am looking at a package for mani, pedi and definitely hair, not sure about make up. Any reviews? Thanks

Can anyone tell where the best resort bar would be to have our guests join us for a welcome drink. Just a little get together. It would probably be around 6pm. I want to include it our welcome letter. Also does anyone have the hours of the bars and restaurants? Thanks!

I heard back from Paola!! The news looks good for me. Here is what she wrote: Thank you for contacting The RIU Wedding Sales Department. Yes if you have 5 or more rooms you qualify for this package. Ministers or Judges fees are not included on the package . One Month before your wedding date you will need to send a list of your reservations as for the bride and groom and also guests. In case that are less rooms the package will be automatically changed to the one who covers the amount of guests. This 5 rooms will need to be booked at Santa Fe. Please let me know your confirmation code in order to make modifications. Hopefully the rest of you will be successful also!!! Good Luck! I am so happy because we really did not want all the extra's that came with the package. Now we have more money to spend in Cabo having fun!!!

I just noticed this too!! I just emailed Erika to see what is up? We haven't given our deposit yet as we have until Oct.15... Was going to do it today as we have booked our hotel packages then i noticed the free weddings... Hmmmm..... We really do not want all the extras but were going to take them beacuse we had to....... If anyone hears from her i will be real interested to hear what she says!!

We are having our reception at the steakhouse. Just a few questions. I read that you can have your guests choose there meal before hand, is this true? I think that would be better so everyone's meal comes at the same time. Also what else do we get with the meal? Salad bar? How private is it? And is there decorations on the tables for our party? And do they serve drinks there? Also does anyone have a picture of the steakhouse? Thanks!!!!

Kelly, We are booked for the Sante Fe for April. And we asked for the steakhouse.. How do you know if we are booked for the steak house and not someone else?... Did they give you any confirmation? Also how did you get the package you wanted because they told me if there is more than 10 we have to upgrade to the next package and like you we do not need all the extra's. Thanks!!!!

We plan on doing the legal ceremony at home and then having a symbolic cermony in Mexico. Two of our best friends who can't make it to Mexico are going to be our witnesses and promise to keep it a secret! I am just wondering if our Mexico guests will know if it is only a symbolic ceremony? Is the symbolic as good as the real deal? We are getting married at the Sante Fe.

Didn't know you could rent it. It would be great to have it for a couple of hours after dinner so we could do our first dance and have our own little party! Also did you get a look at the gazebo? We are unsure which one to use, beach or gazebo. Can you see the ocean and beach from the gazebo? Thanks!!!!

I just have a question regarding booking of your day. I have been confirmed by the resort for our day, now i have recieved two different emails reagrding our confirmation. One is from Riu which wants alot of information from us and second is from the wedding co-ordinator Erika, who wants a bit of information. The one from Riu wants our credit card to hold the date, the one from Erika does not specify any deposit details. I really do not want to fill out the one from the Riu because they want our booking confirmation for our trip, which we have not done yet, as our travel agent is working on a package for us still and i don't see why they need our credit card as it states that we pay when we get there. But it says we have 30 days or our date will be released. Right now i plan to email Erika back with the information. But i was wondering what other brides did regarding the Riu email? Did you make a deposit with Riu? If anyone can help me with this i would greatly apprieciate it!! Also i will be calling my travel agent tomorrow ( it's a holiday day here in Canada!!) as she told me i do not need anything to reserve my date with the hotel. Thanks!!!

I love this forum and all the awesome ideas on it. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment, all these ideas in my head. First of all does anyone have a list of things to do? I am starting off writing down a list of things that have to be done! Then i will make a list of ideas i like. We are waiting to hear from the resort if our day we picked is available. Then i guess we go from there. I do have nine months to plan but i like to have things done. Here is what i am thinking. 1. Rerserve the date. 2. Confirm with travel agent regarding price and packages. 3. Send out STD 4. Start process of legal doc.'s 5. Start looking for wedding dress and suit as it is summer. 6. Start looking for OOT bag stuff cause it's summer too. then what? We are not having anyone stand up with us but my brother will be giving me away. Should he wear something similar to my hubby to be? When should we send out invites? How do we get a general idea of who will be coming without asking right out front? And i am sure i will think of alot more questions in the near future!!! Thanks
