It IS ridiculous...but...she said she thinks she knows what I want! haha! Doh. I cannot upload right now...the attachments thing isn't working. I'll post tonight...give you all a good little chuckle!

My wedding is 45 days away, and I don't know what the gazzebo will look like, what flowers I'll use, or what the reception will be like. I have read every post on this thread and here's what I've gathered: The Royal WCs are brilliant. They are professional and super-experienced. They have made thousands of brides' dreams come true. Many of your wedding plans will be made days before your big day. And, I have yet to find any negative review regarding a Royal PDC wedding. The WCs are not overly quick to respond. But, from what I've read, they will take care of you. Remember: they are not in the U.S. or Canada. They are in Mexico, and business is handled in a different manner. The idea of relaxation in a small beach village is exactly what I wanted for my wedding. It is what makes Mexico so alluring. Here's to warm weather and margaritas! Veronica Thank you Veronica...for brining us all back to relaxation and margaritas land! You hit the nail on the head...they work on a different time line than us. And..honestly...I appreciate that...cause although I want everything right NOW...I'm learning that having that ... makes the time go faster...and I want to savor every last moment! Cheers girls!

It is what I've been looking for, for weeks...and cannot find an image to relay to Micaela about what I want. If you have it...can you post it, or send it to me? 7. Okay...so I'm a post whore today...but I have some time on my hands...so figured...why not! Since I started planning our wedding last March, the package prices alone have almost doubled...so when planning your budget, try to budget high, based moreso on prices that folks are being quoted now, unless you have something specific in writing with the WC or they have acknowledged to you that they will honor a certain price for you (original booking time/price, etc). I believe it was $25 we were quoted, but as it turns out, our hors d'oeuvres are included in our Package. We'll be paying $50pp for the Reception. The dance floor is up in the air as far as I am concerned also. I have emailed about this several times now, and have not received a response AT ALL! I believe they have a standard white rickety dance floor, that will completely serve its purpose...but I KNOW they have a lighted dance floor, as some recent brides have had a chance to use it...I'm just not sure if it was because they had their DJ provide it (which we will not be using a DJ) or if it was based on the number of people in their party and provided by the hotel, or...if it is just the new standard at the hotel Regardless, at this point, I'm planning on the white rickety thing for my group of 13, and if we get the upgrade...they Hooray! We are only doing a slideshow at our AHR the weekend after. I think we'll forego the formalities in Mexico...and just drink! I do think however, if you decide to do your Slideshow...if your reception in hosted in their ballroom, you have access to that kind of equipment...if it is outdoors, I'm not sure what they have to provide, or if you would have to pay extra for setup or anything. I would be interested in this information as well. Quote: Originally Posted by istephiez What packages are everyone getting? Does anyone know if you can customize the wedding packages? For example if there are things in a package that I do not want can I take them out and get a lower price? The first thing I can tell you is, the WCs are pretty good about honoring the prices that are in effect AT THE TIME OF BOOKING. If you book your date (I'm still thinking this requires the $300USD deposit), then...the prices in the packages at this time, are what will be honored...just make sure to tell you WC this is your expectation. This is what I did, and they are honoring the prices from when we first started planning with them. Secondly, you CANNOT customize any of the wedding packages in the sense you are hoping for. Trust me! I wanted to do this also, as it seemed only fair (not in wedding planning world)!...You can customize UP, but you cannot customize DOWN! I suggest..if there are a lot of things in the bigger packages that you just don't want or need (spa treatments, etc) then...start at a more basic package level, and get quotes for all the things you DO want. We ended up selecting the Luxury Package, as the Star Crossed one was...not only a heck of a lot more money...but had a bunch of stuff we just didn't need, or want. For the extras that we did want, we're paying reasonable upgrade prices for those...and ultimately feel that our wedding is going to be EXACTLY what we want now. It's worth it to put in the extra planning time in my opinion... Although, paying for an all encompassing package, and letting them do ALL the work...has its perks as well! Don't stress! If you are concerned, or just need to vent...you have us! We've all been there, or are getting there...and some of us would even do it all again, so, come here and pose the questions. You're on the right path... FIRST THING...book your date and get them that deposit!!! Then..onto other planning stuff!
  10. Yes...the cricket (grasshopper in our case) has become quite symbolic to us...long story, I won't bore you...but...its definitely personal!
  11. Just thought I'd share our biggest project...in its completed state. We designed, printed, cut, mounted, assembled and stamped everything ourselves! The front of invitation: Inside Invite with Magnet and RSVP/Envelope Package: We're happy with how they turned out!
  12. Hi everyone... We're having our AHR the weekend after we arrive back from our Mexican wedding. We decided some time ago we wanted to have a ... sort of ... Hollywood Romance theme...to emphasis how classic our own story is...and define our true love of movies! We have few ideas, mostly just to warm the room up and make it more romantic...but...we've sort of lost the Hollywood part! We know you are all FILLED with incredible ideas...and thought we'd just post to see if anyone could steer us back in a Hollywood Romantic direction! This is what we're doing so far: For the cocktail hour (and a half) we have a reel of Hollywoods Best/Most Romantic Kisses...its about an hour, and we'll just loop it...we're playing it to some of our favorite romantic soundtrack songs...as background ambience. We have "Main Attraction" drink tickets that we made (see below)...and "LOVE" letters for the cake table. We'll be doing the Martha Stewart Poms and Luminaries in Ivory and Citrus Green... We're having a "white" carpet and ropes entrance with a photographer shoot (our hope is to acquire pics of our guests to compile our Guest book with, and ... have a picture to send everyone in their thank yous) There will be lots of mini lights and candles...champagne and delicious food. What else can we do to make it all come together?
  13. Montreal, Quebec but... I'm from Grande Prairie/Edmonton, Alberta!
  14. I have found a lot of things I love at theknotweddingshop.com... That being said, I cannot order any of them as I am Canadian, with a Canadian billing address. Woe is me. Does anyone know of a site that sells similar products to those on the Knot site? I'm specifically interested in the "LOVE" napkins (beverage), the Silk Cosmetic Bags with Initial, and the Father of the Bride baseball hat... ANY help would be appreciated! xo
  15. I'm sure you've already looked...but I thought, just in case their things are still available... you might these useful... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t35889 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t29263

If not it may be a deal breaker for me, photos are the most important thing for me! From what I understand, if you had a contract initiated with the hotel/WC before the "Big Rules" came out...then the $100 fee applied to you...now...AFTER the big rules...I'm not so sure. All you can do is talk to your WC, when she finally gets a hold of you, and ask the question. You would have to have a friend or family member introduce them and they could do any readings for you, etc. The minister just cannot be involved. Good luck, and remember to just be patient with the WCs, and...have fun! Congratulations!
  17. Wow...indeed. That really is a stunning dress...if only I were smaller! Good luck.

  19. Do any of my fellow brides know of a site (either American or Canadian) that carries similar products to those on theknotweddingshop.com AND would allow me to use a Canadian billing address? OR...is there any one of you who would be willling to make arrangments with me to send you the total cost of my order ahead of time, place the order yourselves (using your own method of payment) and then I'll pay for shipping seperately I know this is a big favor...so suggestions for sites would be appreciated. There are a few things off of the Knot that I REALLY want (and they are so affordable right now)...and cannot find them on any of the Canadian sites I have...but they won't allow me to enter my Canadian billing address...even though I have a friend who was willing to have me ship it to her U.S. address... Any thoughts? Thanks everyone!

LOL Yes, I imagine you're good to go! From what I've heard, Micaela does speak and translate a spanish ceremony for you, if you end up with a Spanish speaking Officiant. I've also heard, she does a wonderful job in doing so...she speaks very clearly and slowly! I'm sure if anything were time pressing, she would get a hold of you. It's creeping up on us...only a few more months!

I have also ordered dried starfish for our table settings (placecards). I ordered 10, 4-6" sugar starfish, and 10, 1-2" ones for table decoration. I paid $30 using a company called:SHARPE'S TROPICAL SHELLS & GIFTS - B.C. TROPICAL SHELL CO. - TROPITEK TRADING Being in the U.S. though...you have a lot more options for these kinds of things! HTH!
  23. Does anyone know the dimensions of the gazebo...weird question, yes...but...I'm thinking of buying those icicle mini lights for the roof inside...and was wondering how many I would need? Also...in May...what time does the sun usually set...and what time does it become...less bright out? Our ceremony is at 5 and I'm wondering...would mini lights even show up?...like would you even be able to tell if they were on?
