I have an ivory dress and FI will have a tan linen suit with a white shirt and an aqua tie. The BMs will have chocolate brown dresses with aqua sashes, and I want the GMs to have linen chocolate pants, but I'm not sure if they should wear white shirts or ivory shirts? What do you girls think will look best? Here are the pants... Men's Chocolate Linen Pants - Island Importer Here is the white shirt... If you give me your email address, I can send you photo's of my hair. I went to a salon here for a trial and did lots of photo's step by step of what they did- then I brought the photo's to the spa and the girl tried to replicate them. If you want any accessories, bring them with you - you can't buy anything there (like cute little bobby pins, or clips, or hair-flowers) etc. I was very pleased with my hair....and the 2 bridesmaids that had theirs done were also happy. Hope this helps. Oh, that's great to know! Thanks!! I'd love to see your pics! [email protected]

Hey girls! I just had to share this find with you. I went to Circle Park Bridal in Addison, TX a few weeks back after seeing their business card posted at work. I checked out their website and thought it was so cute, and they advertised themselves as being very affordable so I decided to check it out. It's in this cute little building, and they were super nice and helpful. The owner was really nice and explained that when she got married, she hated how everything was always jacked up in price just because it was a wedding. So she decided to open her own boutique, with the idea to have everything in her shop be affordable and of course cute! They had a pretty large selection of veils, jewelry, and the cutest bachelerotte hats. My MOH went with me, and she was so excited that she found some cute bachelerotte party items! They also have wedding dresses there, and none of them are more than $800. I just wish I would have found this place before I got my dress! I want to go back and check out their jewelry when I have a little more time to spend there, but I just wanted to share this little gem in Addison! I think they did a great job on the hair (though it was not cheap), the make-up, I would have skipped had I known. My make-up cost $111 and it was honesly no different than had I done it myself - plus they had very little selection (2 shades of lip-stick, 3 shades of liner, 2 types of foundation)...my bridesmaid had her make-up done also ($96.00) and hers was TERRIBLE!! It looked like she had been a chain smoker/heroin addict for the past 10 years they used these awful yellow tones that just didn't go well with her skin coloring at all- it was awful. She ended up having them wash the whole thing off AND they still charged her for it. I know some people have had a good experience there though - like I said, my make-up was OK, but way over-priced, but my BM's was not good at all. Hope this helps!! I was wondering the same thing! Thanks so much for your honest feedback! It does seem very pricey, so it's good to know that the makeup isn't worth it! I'm trying to find some salons in town, but I've had a hard time getting information back or if they do respond, their pictures of past updos/makeup doesn't look that great. It seems like El Spa has pretty positive hair reviews. I'm just worried b/c I have super straight hair, and I'd like to go for big loose curls, but I'm worried they're gonna put so much product in my hair that it will look crunchy and gross!

Has anyone ever been here? I got their price list yesterday and their prices for hair and makeup are very reasonable. I've attached it here so you can check it out. I did a search and haven't found any reviews on this spa, or many others in PDC for that matter. If you've been here, or know of any other good hair/makeup places in PDC, I'd love to hear about them! Playa del Carmen Hair/Makeup Salons

This does not include a trial and the trial is $180 . . . .so she's not cheap but I will probably book her because she is willing to come to Tulum. If you email her she can send pics of brides hair that she has styled. Sarah-thanks for all this useful info! I've been going crazy trying to find stylists in PDC! I've searched the forum, but surprisingly there isn't much info about hair and makeup salons outside of the resorts. Thanks again! -
Michelle-thanks so much for the detailed review! You looked amazing! I do have a few questions for you if you don't mind. 1. Did you have a legal ceremony or just a religious one? 2. How early did you arrive before the wedding date? 3. Did you request the rose petals on the reception tables or did they do that automatically? 4. Who was your videographer? Thanks so much!!

When we got to the Lindo we walked around to check out the resort and where the gazebos were. We thought our only option was the pyramid and then we found another gazebo in one of the courtyards, but it seemed to be too small for our wedding size. The pyramid was awful! There is green paint on the ceiling was chipping off in big chunks on all four sides and was very noticeable. When we walked down to the beach we saw the set up there. The lounge chairs are very close to the wedding location, much closer in person than what I had seen in pictures and the beach is very busy so there was usually people in the water. We had gone down there to take pictures of the bridal party before our ceremony and it was very difficult to take pictures without people in the background. Anyhow, they did get new decorations for the beach ceremony and got rid of those ugly pillars. They now have these tiki style pillars that you could place flowers on top of, and the "arch" is one of those bamboo style canopys with tulle wrapped around it. I was not a fan of the old beach set up, but liked the new one so Mike and I had decided if the pyramid was our only option we would just move the ceremony to the beach (I do have a couple pictures so I will attach those once they are uploaded). However, when we met with Araceli she showed us pictures of another gazebo that we could use that is apparently shared by te Lindo and Del Mar coordinators, but luckily it wasn't requested already for our date so we were able to get it. The gazebo is in the center of the shopping plaza across the street from the Lindo. It is much more private there as there is barely anyone ever walking around the shopping plaza. So here is how it was set up. Hey beachbride! Did you bring the sashes for the chairs, or did the hotel provide them?

The WC at the Del Mar told me you only have to pay for guest passes for the photographers if they're eating-if not, you just have to pay the $300 penalty. I decided to go with Cecilia Dumas because her pics are really pretty and she's very affordable. She also responds back pretty fast, which I love! Have you guys decided if you're going to use a videographer or not? The videographer at the hotel went up to $400, but I've heard they're not good either. One girl said he filmed them having pics taken by the photographer and counted that as part of their time. I'm having a hard time finding a good, affordable videographer in the area. I'm considering just having a family member videotape it just so we have something. I don't know what to do!!

Weather/Sunset Info
Stina168 replied to pdcbride09's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
My photographer said the sun will set around 7:20 the first week of May. I also heard the heat of the day is earlier, and by around 5ish, it starts to cool down a bit. I think it will be around the low to mid 80's from what I've read. Hope this helps! -

Hey Beacbride-I have a list of excursions and places to go on the website too, but I really wanted to have something planned for our guests if they want to participate. They're welcome to do their own excursions too.

I can give you the info if you want it. Michelle & Carla - thanks for the tips! I am wondering if the Iberostar has a way to do a group phone message to our guests that day to let them know where we will be for the welcome reception? I don't want to print it out in advance because I want to scope out the bars before deciding - haha. I work for a hotel here and we can do that so I am guessing they might be able to....I am sure I will figure it out - thanks for the tips! Michelle - are you guys staying at the lindo for your honeymoon? Hey Lyssa! Yes, I'd love to see any info you have! I'm trying to figure out if we can afford it. We're getting married on Saturday, and I wanted to have the cruise Thursday evening b/c Friday is the rehearsal dinner, and I thought it would be too hectic to have everyone do the cruise around sunset, they'd be all messy and windblown, and then we'd have to rush back to the hotel for dinner at 8:30. (The rehearsal dinner has to be at 8:30 according to the WC). I have a feeling not many people will come Thursday, and if that's the case, we can afford it, but if I'm wrong and everyone comes Thursday and wants to go on the cruise-that could be really expensive! I was emailing Paradise Catamarans and they're charging $20pp for transportation, or you can rent a van for $400. I was like, that is almost as expensive as the cruise itself! Plus, they charge $10pp for open bar. Right now, they're charging $500 for up to 10 people; $600 for 11-20 people, and $700 for 21-30. It's possible we might have more than 30. So it could range from $900-$1600 or more. Trying to figure out if we should say that it's our treat on the website & invitation, or if I should list the prices so they know they have to pay for it. I would much rather pay for it ourselves, but it's a lot more than what I wanted to pay. I'm getting really frustrated about this!

We had asked everyone in advance if they wanted to do an excursion, but with everyone coming in and leaving on different days it made it hard to try to get everyone together on the same day. A lot of our guests really only want to stay at the resort and relax so we aren't doing any other events. Mike and I will be doing some excursions, but we will do them on our honeymoon portion of our stay once all the wedding activities are over. I'm trying to figure out if we should do an activity for the guests. I'd like to do something like a sunset cruise, but it's hard to plan since I have no idea when people are planning on coming in. It's still pretty far away, but I'd like to include the activity info on our website and invitations. Maybe we should just scrap the activity all together so our guests can have more free time like your guests? I have to say the activities are more expensive than I originally anticipated!
