  7. Wow everyone! Thanks for the great ideas... I was going to have a friend who couldn't afford to come to Mexico for our wedding look in on my cat every couple of days (and administer fluids to her as she is a special needs pet), but heck I never even thought of hiring a pro! I did some research and for $15 - $20 a day, I think it's more than worth the piece of mind and not only will they come to administer my cat's fluids, they will also come every day to give her some wet food, change the litter and share some love!
  8. Stunningly beautiful women!! Thanks for the recommendation of either scattering petals just beforehand or having guests enter from the sides, going to make sure that plan is put into action for my wedding as I can't wait to walk down a bed of roses!
  9. Those are very beautiful.. wow though, knowing how much my FI already loves my shoe spending he'd just about flip if I spent $200 on flip flops! lol.
  10. Hi everyone! I have recently learned how to post pictures on the web and accordingly, be able to share them with all of you too! During the time it took for me to make my final decision to be married at Dreams Tulum, I have been researching nice shots of the resort, was lucky enough to have a friend rent a car and stop by when he was in the area, and now I am in the process of putting together a brochure for guests when they arrive at the resort for my big day (not to mention update emails along the way also!) Anyhow... here are some of the photos and a bit of the information I have gathered. One of the most beautiful is the Gran Cenote, just 4 km. from Tulum hotel zone on the road to Cobá. Its clear water allows swimmers and divers to see the underwater cave formations and the small fish that live there.
  11. Oh yes, another newbie here so I know what you're talking about! Wait until you get into the planning... especially if you are having fun sending emails back and forth with a wedding planner in Mexico, get prepared to go full throttle and then wait some more! It's all good though, just enjoy the ride!
  12. SheaS, wow girl!! Just married and already pregnant, you're living my dream!! Congrats!!!! As for shipping in Mexico, please post up as I am anxious to hear how that goes. I am staying at Dreams Tulum for the wedding but El Dorado for the honeymoon, so perhaps shipping stuff out from there?
  13. Ohhhh... just remembered another question that wasn't answered. As I am being married on a Wednesday night, does anyone know what they do for entertainment on Wednesdays?
  14. Seahagamy, welcome from another Dreams Tulum future bride! Nueland, I am going to be at Dreams Tulum one week before you! (Nov 1 - and then we plan to head over to El Dorado (although not booked yet) for our honeymoon. Welcome to all the Dreams Tulum ladies and I am sure you'll hear lots of questions from me soon! Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge and patience!

    New Girl!

Hi Jaime, I am up in Vancouver, BC (so not too far away) and my fiance and I have chosen Dreams Tulum in the Riviera Maya. There are so many beautiful places to choose from, good luck with your search!
  16. Stuntwife, what a very cool username - care to tell us how you chose it? I am a motorcycle rider myself, so I have to say I like it already!! Congrats on wedding number 2 for you and your man!

I have purchased the Ultimate Package at Dreams Tulum and made a request to have my Gold Dinner on the terrace, however, I am only expecting 20 - 25 people. Is there a better location for this but one that is still private or at least semi-private and with an outdoorsy beautiful view? I thought that the terrace would be nicer for guests (my grandmother who is in a wheelchair is coming) and also convenient to the bathrooms, etc. However, someone noted above that that few of guests would look swallowed up. Anyone on here have about a 20 guest wedding, where did you have a private dinner afterwards and please confirm that your option was covered in the Ultimate Package. Thanks everyone and happy Dreams Tulum weddings!!!

Wow, you have 1,400 posts! Maybe I should be turning to you for some advice?! Want to meet up for a coffee or even better, if you're still living in BurQuitlam, maybe a bellini at Joey's? PS. Thanks for the warm welcome everybody!!
  19. Hi everyone, as directed I am posting to say hello and let you know about my big date coming up! Jody & Steve from Vancouver, B.C. CANADA (current ages 33 and 36, first time marriages for both of us!) Wedding date(s) and location: November 1 (civil ceremony with limited attendance on the way to the airport) and November 5, 2008 (symbolic ceremony with friends and family) in Dreams Tulum, Riviera Maya We, or maybe I should say *I* (lol), selected Dreams Tulum as we originally were selecting from locations that offered direct flights from Vancouver, B.C. - Jamaica, parts of the Bahamas and Mexico. It was soon apparent that Mexico had the best variety of choices for resorts available and that Dreams was the best choice for us as we likely had a couple of cousins that were teens attending at the wedding, which ruled out an adults only location. We haven't fully decided on where we will be spending our honeymoon week, but El Dorado which is nearby is a very strong candidate. After some more research on the net, a decision will be made. Looking forward to reading about all of your experiences following a lot of your guidance and suggestions. First thing I learned from browsing this site was a "sand ceremony" is a must for our symbolic wedding. Perfect thing for a beach wedding! Thanks everyone for taking the time to share your stories, much appreciated! Jody
