  1. I know I'll get use out of them and they're worth it. Every bride should treat themselves to good shoes : ) We're spending so much on the whole ordeal, what's a few extra dollars to dress up our feet?
  2. OMG, Jaime! That would rack my nerves if that was my 'hood. I get freaked out enough when I'm home alone when my FI is traveling for work. Glad you figured it out and were able to help. What a good neighbor : )
  3. Bought my shoes today - will probably wear them for the legal church wedding in September, as well as my two showers and for pics at Las Caletas. Love love love: Shoewawa: Stuart Weitzman's red satin 'Pomposo' heels Yup, they're red! Can't find a pic of the dress and I am probably the last person on here to try to post pics. It's a white BCBG sundress - will look so cute with the red shoes.
  4. I wouldn't say I was a big runner, but I do enjoy running. However, last year I was having trouble with my knee and had to get x-rays. Turns out I have arthritis in my right knee! I'm not THAT old - geez.... Anyway, now that I know, I take a glucosamine supplement everyday. Haven't been running as much as I would like due to being sick, a couple surgeries this year and just busy with work travel - I know - waa waa waa. Anyway, reading all this has inspired me to try to get back at it. I've been ramping up my workouts and may have to try a run this weekend. Great story though - I used to live in Pittsburgh and would run through the winters early early in the morning. The one morning was so cold, snow on the ground. I was all bundled up but felt something strange on my face. I had been sweating, but it was so cold it turned into an icicle on my cheek!
  5. Of course, I'll agree - inches are better to lose than pounds. And the more muscle you build, the more your body will burn off calories (ie., fat) and more pounds will fly off the scale. Keep up the good work!
  6. Absolutely darling dress, Yari!! I love me some Banana. Today, I went nuts in Ann Taylor on my lunch break. As for wedding stuff, I ordered the personalized golf tees that will go in the OOT bags my FI ordered from Cheaptotes.com. Also ordered the guest book yesterday from TheKnot.com. Just need the Polaroid camera and some film for that bad boy. Finally feel like we're making some headway on my list of To-Dos.

  9. I'm using a local photographer - who photographs all over PV. He's done weddings from Las Caletas (like mine) to the Four Seasons in NV and probably some in between. He's reasonably priced and a few of the girls on BDW have used him. You should search for Roberto Aceves on the forum, as well as check out his site: Roberto Aceves Interphoto2000 Photographer Puerto Vallarta
  10. Congratulations, Shannon, on your recent move and welcome to Dallas! I've only been here a few years myself. Not sure if anyone else is bringing their fiance, but I know mine cannot make it.
  11. Soooo we're good for July 19th? Has a location been decided upon? And I'd like to add HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Jaime!!!!!
  12. Woohoo! Got flipflops for the wedding - now I just need shoes. Check 'em out: Starburst Flop Flops - Vintage Brooch Wedge Shoe - Designer Flip Flop Shoes "Why?" you're probably wondering do I need shoes if I just got flipflops. Well - for pictures - duh! Ha ha ha. And for the actual church wedding which we'll be doing in September - just the two of us and my friends that want to renew their vows in church. Here's my chance to get some real high-end shoes - my chance to be a high-maintenance bridezilla. Something like this: Shoewawa: Christian Louboutin's ivory satin 'Collier Monte' strappy slingbacks or funky like these: Christian Louboutin Crepe Satin Peep-Toe Pump*-* Fashion Collection*-* Neiman Marcus
  13. After reading your heart-breaking story, I remembered seeing a news piece not too long ago about donated flights and pilots' time to fly and did a quick Google. Here's what I came up with, Air Charity Network: Request a Flight If Baby Gwen is allowed to fly, in general - you, Paul and Baby Gwen sound like candidates to me! However, it does look like they network with limo companies and other modes of transportation - look under Partners and Patrons. Other similar charities: Angel Flight West Corporate Angel Network - Home
  14. We finally went wedding band shopping and found OOT bags online. CHECK! Also got the koozies for the OOT bags. Worked on letter to guests prior to the wedding. CHECK! Going to pick up final invitation proof - FINALLY! She's given me such the run-around, I could spit. However, totally stressing that my siblings and their spouses have sat on their thumbs to book their flights. Argh.

What I do know is that I have my daughter booked on Mexicana to PV - however, it's the exact same flight as mine but I'm going via American Airlines. I had to book hers through Priceline because she'll be flying direct back to Houston on Continental (we're going out of Dallas direct to PV) and going this route made it less expensive. Even though she is going on "Mexicana" it is a flight operated by American, therefore, we're on the same plane and her airfare was much cheaper! Not sure if that helps, but you may want to make sure when booking who is operating the flight.

If anyone has information please share. I don't know much about Careyes, but it's where Heidi Klum and Seal were married and go back every year to renew their vows.
  17. Manny's has good Mexican food. There's one in Addison, too. Yummy. Blue Goose is always good on Greenville or in Addison.

And also good for either the 12th or 19th of July.
  20. The 12 of July was my vote, but I may have to go out of town for work. I could make the 21st of June work too. Would love to meet you all!

Just in case I think of something else I need to do or another song I hear on the radio that I want to add to the play list. Here's what I have on my list of things to do for my October wedding: Find Tommy Bahama shirt for groom and his father (we're not having a wedding party - they're it) Order guest book from The Knot Order Polaroid camera for guest book Organize growing pile of bridal magazines in corner of bedroom along with all other bridal junk Order wedding flipflops Find shoes! Yes - I must have both Get dress altered (need shoes first) Get final proof of invitations (why won't she call me back?) Get invitations addressed by calligrapher Mail invitations Ceremony Programs Order fans for ceremony programs Arrange and mail PV packets for wedding guests Get mini-maid's dress for my daughter - not really a bridesmaid, not a MOH, but a mini-maid : ) Print place cards OOT bags Order Spanish for Dummies for OOT bags Make centerpieces and cake toper Find wedding bands So much of this depends on how many people will actually be coming to the wedding, too. My webpage on The Knot really has been helpful with a list of Things to Do, too. I've got so much to do! This is scary looking at this list...
  23. OMG - I just saw this thread today. I'm an October Las Caletas bride!!! I'll work on my list and share, too. However, this work thing is forcing me away now.
