  1. I didn't buy the DVD when it first came out and was on sale. I'm cheap and won't pay $25, LOL. Also, I just now figured out how to work our new DVD player.

I tend to watch movies on the movie channels every time they are on and it is fun just to stumble upon them. DH doesn't get my Twilight and mocks me so this way I could watch whenever I want. Hopefully it will be on long enough to bride the gap until New Moon is out.

Ok, I found out that Showtime has the rights to the movie & its sequels!

I couldn't find a date though. Only one article had mention of it and it said 2010. That seems a little far off.

  2. For some reason I really like Kupono. He feels like he could be a great gay boyfriend, kwim? He rocked the Wade Robson routine last week! I don't think he will make it to the end, especially if he can't adapt to different styles. He was really good in the Mia Michaels opening number.

It would have been hard to eliminate a guy this week. I certainly didn't think any of the 3 nominated deserved to go home. Honestly, Evan or Phillip did a worse job but I think they both have a pretty good following. All three had decent solos and Max footloosed his butt off! But, it doesn't seem like they keep ballroom guys around long.

I will say that if Randi gets voted off and Evan gets paired with a bigger girl he will be in trouble. I don't know if he has the strength to do some of the lifts so it could limit his choreography. It also doesn't look as good. It seems like that happened last year or the year before and the guy was voted off that week.

I hate the things that are out of the dancers' control like partnering and wardrobe. The outfit poor Max was in was just unfortunate! I think partners can drag each other down. I wonder if Paris would have lasted longer with someone like Jonathan or Vitolio.

I was ok with Ashley being eliminated. Her solo really didn't have much substance and her other routines hadn't been strong enough to compensate. I am not an Auska fan like I thought I would be during the auditions. I'm ready for her to head home soon. Her dance was really pretty and really technical but the only personality that I get is bitchy diva. Caitlyn at least has a goofy personality and she can laugh at herself.

I'm excited to see what will happen next week! I wonder if there are spoilers, like what kind of dance they will be doing or who the choreographer is...I'll have to go investigate!

Oh and I love that they are featuring professional dancers in their genre. Musical guests have not been impressive so far. Katy Perry and Lady Gaga were fun, these people not at all! I don't even know their names! That girl last night was TERRIBLE! I don't know why they bothered to even put a mic on her! Milli Vanilli did a better job lip syncing! Ashlee Simpson did a better job!

  3. I watched sporadic episodes from the other seasons, mainly because we turned Showtime off and on to save money on our cable bill. A few months later they would come along and give us a few free months.

I watched every episode last season and the two from this season. THe show is really funny in a dark humor sort of way. The calls about Celia were priceless, Josh!

  4. I was wondering about those.

I need a new vampire series. I've read all of the Twilight and Sookie Stackhouse novels as well as the Anne Rice books.

Let me know what you think when you get finished. I read the first chapter of book 1 online but didn't really get into it enough to buy it.

  5. It's great to see some familiar faces! It has been entirely too long!

Our first anniversary is Sunday! I can't believe it! I have no idea where the time went. We don't have any big exciting plans. I was really hoping for a vacation (paper = tickets) but that wasn't in the cards for us. I'm definitely planning for next year though.

No babies for us yet. I'm constantly torn between wanting one, but knowing we aren't really ready or where I would like us to be (financially, emotionally, career-ly). I have a dr. appointment at the end of August so after that I might have a better timeline, LOL

  6. Hi Ladies! This has been a very popular subject for discussion. Lots of brides have been effected by the swine flu. Below is the most popular support and discussion thread:

A quick seach brought up all of these other threads if the one above doesn't answer your questions.

Please try to remember to do a search, especially for big topics. Repeat threads use forum resources and take up the Mods' time. We all want to keep BDW the best forum out there!

Good luck with your continued planning!

  7. Have you tried Casual Male? CasualMale.com - Men's Big and Tall Clothing

You might want to stop in to a store. They are great at helping you find what you need. DH is a big guy and we have a hell of a time finding him clothes, so I understand your pain.

It is easier to find short sleeve than long sleeve. Try 'Camp Shirt' or 'Linen Shirt'

Men's Warehouse can also special order things.

You might just try googling Big & Tall menswear and see what comes up.

  8. SHe definitely showed off the girls!

Season 2 is not following the book so far. I have read a few spoilers (I just can't get enough!) and later in the season it will kind of join back up with the book's plot line.

I am really excited about Eric. I've become a bigger fan because of the books. Both he and Bill look better this season. I'm going with the bigger budget theory, too. I like Bill's short hair.

I think that all of those people in the dungeon are being held for crimes against vampires. Eric is the Sheriff so he would be the enforcer. Lafayette does die a little later in book two but I think he was such a fan favorite that they wanted to keep him around.

The book does kind of tell you about Maryanne's character and identity. I wonder where the story will go and if it will end this season.

  9. OMG! The season premier was SO GOOD!

I can't wait for everyone to watch it so we can discuss.

The only thing I will say, so I don't spoil it is why did Eric have foils in his hair. I mean I get the juxtaposition, but you stay the form you were when turned. He's a big blond Nordic viking. Why would he need to dye his hair?

  10. Oh honey, I know how you feel. Splitting holidays is really hard for us because my parents are divorced. So I was used to and it was easy to alternate holidays with 2 sets of parents, throwing a 3rd in really messes things up!

I'm guessing there is some other issue. I don't know what, but usually when boys freak out is about something totally unrelated. Did B have a rough week at work or something?

We have decided that we will spend every Thanksgiving with DH's family because it is a big deal for them and every Christmas here with my family. The one year I conceded and went back to KS for X_mas was the year my grandmother died, leaving my mom completely by herself. We both cried the whole week. I vowed NEVER AGAIN after that. The other holidays we just rotate. One year here and one year there. Of course I'd rather be with my family but since we have a plan, I know that I won't get stuck going every year.

Is there any way FFIL would go to your family's celebration?
