  1. i guess this is geared toward dreams brides, but anyone that has any info, please respond!!! here are my ?s: 1) who plays music when we walk down the aisle? i know that we'll have the caribbean trio for an hour as part of our package - is that when they play? if we get a dj, will he play as we walk down the aisle? 2) anyone have a good recommendation for a dj in pv? i tried searching but my search privileges have been shut down for the next 6000 seconds...or something crazy like that... i'm driving myself nuts with these details.....
  2. here's a link to a funny site that my fh found: Stupid Wedding Crap check out the whole site - i think it's hilarious!!!
  3. hey - i know it's old news, but the rag shop is going out of business...they still has lots of merchandise, 30 - 70% off...i just got the last 15 canvas bags for OOT bags for about $1.15/bag!!!!!!! they also have flip flops for about $1.20 (nice colors, too) and wedge flip flops for $2.and change...tule (sp?) and ribbon and silly cake toppers and scrapbooking paper, etc.... ALSO - BBB has photo duffles (slots for about 10 pics in front) on sale from $7.99 to $3.99 - plus if you're on the mailing list, you get all of those 20% coupons...would have gotten these but i don't know how many guests i'll have....wouldn't want to run out and have to substitute...at least w/ the canvas bags i can find them anywhere.
  4. each one is a little different...for the most part, you have the cocktail hour in a separate room. the couple sometimes chooses to come mingle, other times they are still taking pictures. after the cocktail hour, guests are escorted into the main room, where there's bread on the table/plates. music is already playing...a few minutes later, they introduce the bridal party, etc. and then have the first dance(s). then everyone goes to their seats for salad, or appetizers. sometimes, the toasts are inserted in here...music still playing, gets louder and faster when people finish eating, people get up to dance...told to go back to seat by band/dj for next course...this "dance and then sit" routine repeats until after the main course, where the bride and groom cut the cake in the middle of the dance floor...more dancing...coffee/dessert are served, little more dancing, the end. i can't imagine sitting to eat all of the courses and THEN (fatter and more bloated) getting up to dance!
  5. i may have a few people staying at another hotel for the weekend of our wedding. does anyone know if dreams require wedding guests to pay for a guest pass for the day? if my guests are going to have to pay to get onto the property, i'd like to let them know
  6. anyone know why i can't access the list of pv photographers in this thread? says i dont have enough points (i don't even know what points are!) thanks!
  7. i JUST (like 30 min ago) bought a few in walmart up in roxbury...bought the last 3 b/c i figured it would take me awhile to get enough...but i've seen them in walmarts and targets... where are you in nj? i wouldn't mind passing them along.
  8. from what i remember, the plugs are the same as long as it has two prongs. any plugs with three prongs need an adapter.

My goodness! Then all the meal courses were spread out through the events of the night, the dancing, the toasts... I liked how it paced the night, especially after eating so many appetizers! it's funny, i'm from nj, and all of the weddings i've ever been to have been like this...i thought it was like this everywhere...but i've talked with 2 separate people lately who have both told me that the whole meal was served before any kind of dancing, toasts, etc. anyone know how they do it in mexico?
  10. i didn't want a shower and we didn't want to register...we've been living in a house together for a few years now, so we have everything...but then my sister and bf said that i HAD to have a shower, and that i couldn't havea shower w/o registering....so....we're now registered for a whole bunch of stuff that we probably don't need. i'm going to (privately) tell my few friends that actually are going to join us in pv that they shouldn't get us anything.
  11. i hope this is the right place to post this.....i tried looking for a similar thread, but to no avail. i was wondering if everyone would help make a list of wedding info...we could use it as a reference to ask for opinions and it would help others in the future (or me right now we could list: date place of ceremony (specific, like on beach at dreams) place of reception (again, specific) package (if applicable) food (good or bad?) dj photographer videographer etc. i can start, but don't have much info...i'm hoping to get some ideas from you guys! date: 2/16/08 ceremony: beach at dreams, pv reception: thinking poolside (terrace) at pv package: ultimate that's all i have as of now lauren
