Hello Okay I am having a real moment!! Valeria has just asked me how many chairs I need for the wedding ceremony at Gazebo 55 and I went ahead and said 32 (that includes everyone attending including me and my fella!) So the question is do (bride and groom) we sit down at all during the ceremony shea/Bre anyone?? so therefore do we need chairs? and then how about bridesmaids / bestman? do they need chairs I am thinking if not, there is at least a few usd to be saved on expensive chairs and linens, lol!!! that I am having too pay for twice already!! I think all this planning is making my head frazzle!!

Shea's TTD Pics
Millie & George replied to SheaS's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Fab pictures Shea, you look stunning! Wish I had the balls to do that, too worried about the dress! LOL!! xx -
Hi Timesel If it helps, I have included the photographer in the chair count just for the reception as I figured during the actual wedding ceremony Vanessa will be busy taking the photo's. I have also put her down to receive the deluxe bbq buffet that we have booked for the private event. Hope that helps. Anna x

Hi everyone! How many guests will you all be bringing? I think the hotel will be full wth just us and our guests. lol!! Like Shannon I arrive on the 13th and we leave on the 27th, the UK really only schedule 2 weekly flights because of the distance. I think we should all definately mail each other and catch up on a certain date, it is always nice to make new friends! J. Wolfe I shall keep my eyes out for April brides and let you know the details, there must be more for April. Thank you Mrs V to be - I shall check those locations out and probably start harrassing poor Valeria out xx

Blimey Shannon - you made me chuckle, you really are covering all options, your guests will be really pleased that you have gone to soooo much effort. Are you bringing many with you? I guess I will bump into you at some point as we arrive on the 13th May. I guess I am just panicking, want it to be perfect, but I really dont want to have lots of strangers in my photos with bikini's on, does that sound really bad, so was looking for somewhere private, any advice?? Mandy, I am due to get married at 5pm on the 21st at the white gazebo, I then thought from say 5.30pm to 6.30pm guests could hang at Martini bar whilst photo's are underway and then onto Tucanes at 6.30pm for private dinner event, I think you get that for around 4 hours. We have chosen the BBQ deluxe option from the menu. How are your plans coming along? I cant believe we are all getting married within a few days of each other, madness, not long now ladies!! Anna x

Hi everyone Just wanted a bit of advice from previous visitors to the El Dorado, if you would be kind enough. I am due to get married at the white gazebo location, but I am having 2nd thoughts regarding the marriage location. Can anyone give me some further details perhaps, for example: Is it quite private? Is it pretty? can I wear heels, or is it too sandy? How far is it from the martini bar and/or tucanes? How far is it from the casista location? In your opinion, where do you think is the most romantic location, needs to fit around 30 people? I am really sorry too ask lots of questions, any help greatly appreciated. Thanks xx

Hi Maggiemaylou I asked this question regarding music and Valeria told me that the music equipment for the ceremony is free however you do have to rent the ipod equipment for your private reception $250 usd and if you then want the equipment again on another day, yes you have to rent it again, unfortunately!! Hope that helps! xx

Hi there! Bless you, it does sound like you are having a nightmare! If I may add my opinion: I am getting married at EDR in May and so far I have found the co-ordinators Valeria especially really helpful and happy to do whatever I ask to make the day special, coming form the UK it has been a real leap of faith to decide on a hotel and just go with it!! We are bringing 32 guests with us and if I may say I think you need to decide what you want from your wedding and try not to worry about your guests, in my opinion your guests will make their own fun. For the sake of them having nightlife at their beck and call do you really want to be in the middle of cancun for your romantic dream wedding. If it helps, EDR do run a mini bus into Cancun and Playa daily I believe; although you are only entitled to 1 trip per week, you would then need to get a bus back. As Maggie states, EDR are happy to accommodate any requests although like all the other hotels I looked into everything does cost that bit extra. We are having the wedding at 5pm and then a private reception and finally hope to head off to the martini bar to finish off th evening. I think wherever you go extra costs will be involved, its the nature of the wedding business I guess. Why dont you try looking at the link for Sol photography at the beginning of this forum, take a look at the pictures of other weddings at various locations and just see which hotel really excites you!! I am really sorry for going on, but hope that helps! xx

Hi PinkChick I too am getting married at the El Dorado in May and we have booked through Thomas Cook / Airtours. I have to say it has all gone pretty smoothly but too be honest as we are taking 32 people with us from the UK I have found the wedding co-ordinator at the El Dorado; Valeria fantastic. In fact Airtours suggested as we are taking so many people it was best to liase with the hotel directly for all the extras. ie Private Wedding Event, extra flowers, welcome drinks ect.. Let me know if you have any questions, but too be honest this site is fab!! Dont worry it will be fab xx

Hello everyone! This site has been so useful, I just wanted to say a big thanks to all who have posted regarding El Dorado, especially your site visits and pics are fab!! Being based in the UK, it has been so helpful! Anyway, my question is..... On the private events, the prices for the wine and champagne for toasts seems to be totally mad, so expensive! Does anyone know if they have a corkage fee if we were to bring our own?? Or any other ideas? Thanks once again!! Millie x
-
Hi ya Yes, I have attached below an extract from my email that the w/c from lomas sent me: There is a special fee for outsider photographers of 500.00usd, unfortunately she wont be able to purchase just the day pass, but to pay for this amount, is a special policy for outsider suppliers... But we can all but try hey?? Did you know they even charge for chairs that you need for your guests 3usd for a plain white chair and upto 12usd for a decorated chair, unreal!!! Millie xx

Hi Tricia I too am getting married in May at the El Dorado, whats your date? I couldnt bear to have the resort photographer so I have booked Vanessa Vargus her pics look fab. Although because I caused such a stink with Lomas on the costs of bringing my own photograher I think they have my cards marked, so I think I will deffo have to pay the $500, great!!! Love Millie & George
