  1. Thanks so much for sharing your creativity! I love the idea of giving cups in the OOT bags. I've read that many of the hotels have tiny glasses so its such a practical gift. I'm sorry if I missed this, but where did you order the cups from? Do you know about how much each costs? I also love the letter about picture sharing. I do not plan on hiring a photographer (tight budget) so it would really mean a lot to me to receive everyone's digital photos. Now I know a great way to ask everyone to share photos! I can't wait to start making a logo when I get home!
  2. I could be wrong, but I feel like I have read you have to have a marriage certificate already in order to do a symbolic ceremony. Does anyone know more about this? I have read some people chose to make it legal before they arrive instead of after in order to get the free room upgrade & other things that come along with the honeymoon package.
  3. I think I'll have around 30 guest. I just want to use the restaurants & bars already provided by the hotel, even if it means we will have less privacy. Can you do that? If you don't make a reservation or ask to be seated together is that OK? I'm worried they will make you pay extra because you are a wedding party. I've read some people saying they did their whole DW for $2,500. If you leave out reception, cocktail hour & dinner cost I think thats totally realistic. I'm just concerned the hotel won't let you just eat dinner like anyone else staying there would. Will someone please let me know how it works.
  4. A friend of mine was MOH in a destination wedding she did not attend. She will be standing by the bride's side when they show the video at the reception. That could be an option if she is unable to attend. Possibly she is upset because she was not given the option to attend or not. If she is asked to be MOH, then she would feel expected to be there with no choice. If you sit down & talk about it you can probably work things out. I've been in a lot of weddings. I think its really important to make your wedding party feel like VIP guests, not hired help. Not that you have done this, but it definitly happens all the time. Its fun to help with a wedding, but only if it feels like choice not a duty. My plan is to either not have bridesmaids or to wait to see who books flights & then ask them to be in the wedding. They won't need matching dresses, so I can wait until it gets closer. Good luck! Just don't lose a valuable friendship!
  5. The Palace resorts (Moon palace, cancun palace, etc.) will no give you the free package if it is not the legal ceremony.
  6. Thanks Yazmin! I have been searching for those all over the internet. Morgan
  7. I'm have just started planning. Do some people get legally married ahead of time & then fly to mexico for a ceremony? If you do this, what do you consider your wedding date? I'm trying to figure out the details to get married in mexico, but i'm wondering if its just easier to do it in advance.
  8. Does anyone know where I can find the vows read during a Mexican civil ceremony?
  9. From what I read it does not sound difficult to make a wedding in Mexico legally recognized in the US. I would appreciate if someone who has been through the process would let me know if its easy or difficult. It seems like the hotel coordinates all the legal stuff for you. Once you bring that back to the US, is the process simple? Thanks! Morgan
