  1. well, we decided to go with a limited bar menu offering - i attached it if anyone is interested in seeing the final choices drink list.pdf
  2. HOLY gorgeous pics!!!!! wow - Rebecca - there are some amazing shots in there - i can't wait to see the rest. and jeez girl - look at the rock!
  3. great ideas!!!! i am going to talk to FI tonight about it and then i have a call with our WC tomorrow afternoon so i will let you know how it goes. they ahve been great to work with so far - i just feel stupid b/c we really didn't budget enough - when our wedding was planned for Molokai we were able to buy the liquor and just pay for mixers and service ... stupid that i never upped the freakin budget to resort numbers and now a week before our wedding i am flipping out lol i need one of those $14 cocktails they servie ROFL

Kona Village Resort is the only licensed authority to sell and serve alcoholic beverages within the property. Therefore, alcoholic beverages for public consumption may not be brought onto the hotel premises .

(just give everyone 3-4 jello shots when they get there. they won't want many drinks after that ) Lauren, i totally agree about the 9 drinks things. tricky b/c they don't offer pinot grigio as a 'house wine' so we would have to pay for that by the bottle and from the menu i have the cheapest one is $42 per bottle YIKES. we could say we have this much to spend and then cut it off but i feel really f--ked up doing that - IMHO it is not right when you are hosting to not 'host' people at least until the cake is cut. we are just so tight i really, genuinely don't know where the extra $ is going to come from

If you're not doing that I don't necessarily see the need for champagne. Can they do a hard alcohol drink for less money? I agree - i need to try to figure it out - they said they could do 'rum punch' for $85 a gallon but it still is SO HIGH! And you can slip the bartenders some food coloring to make it the color you want? That's probably crazy but I'm just racking my brain here! As for how much beer vs. wine gosh I don't know. Personally I know people who drink only beer/hard liquor and not wine. Do you have a wine crowd? In that case you can do away with or really restrict the beer. Or do wine only with dinner, cocktails only for the rest...if that would save $$. that is kind of why i am stressed b/c our crowd is really split between wine and beer drinkers - then some liquor drinkers but they would drink wine or beer if there was no liquor. UGGGGHHHHH
  7. all very good points!! and jamy - we actually do need to decide now b/c our bar set up is a bit confusing and we need to print a bar menu - i don't want to count on doing that there KWIM? as for house wines by the glass this is what they offer: i think we may be able to get these for $8 per glass House Champagne - don't know brand House Chardonnay - Four Vines House Cabernet - De Loach House Merlot - Cart & Brown House Pinot Noir - Esser Winery as for Beer - here is the deal: Bud/Bud Lt./Coors Lt/Michelob $5 Heniken/Corona/Beck's/All Kona Beers/Steinlager $6 i am really torn about this mai tai thing - i have a really hard time believing that they get 18 servings out of 1 gallon and we definitely CAN NOT afford 8 gallons
  8. oh jeez - i think we really underestimated shit. i personally hate pinot grigio b/c it is so fruity and sweet so i prob won't choose it in case i want a glass of wine lol i appreciate everyone's comments!

If you need to save $$ I wouldn't add it there. And holy shit your wedding is next Friday?!? Where did the summer go? Do you have butterflies yet? Yes Jamy i am feeling it now! we leave on Sunday night and have a wedding to attend on Sat night so things are Fing crazy!!!! ok - as for drinkers: don't drink (so need softdrinks / water) approx $3 per 6 light drinker (2 to 3) 8 medium drinker (4 to 7) 8 heavy drinker (8 to 10+) 14
  10. my wedding is next Friday and we are planning on having a consumption bar. we have 35 guests (including us) + 2 vendors + 1 baby. our crowd is split between heavy drinkers, light drinkers and people who don't drink at all, hence the reason we went with the consumption bar. i am considering wine and beer only with a signature hawaiian drink like Mai Tai's - they will do 1 gallon of Mai Tais for $95 - they say they get 18 drinks out of (that sounds like a lot to me but maybe i pour heavily lol) it. also, question about wine - i was considering choosing a nice white by the bottle and a nice red (maybe like a charddonay and a merlot) - is this annoying b/c you wouldn't be able to order a pinot grigio or cabernet? i am starting to think we didn't budget enough $$$ for the bar and freaking out do you have any other advice for ways to save $ / cut costs?
  11. ok - this is just my opinion so no offense to anyone else but i wouldn't appreciate that gift at all for the cost of it - what i mean by that is that Tiffany's (to me) is not that special and way, way, way overpriced -it is all about the blue box. you can get them super fabulous gifts for way less money! what about this: personalized tote bags massage GC at your resort spa robes with their initial monogram framed pics of all 3 sisters a nice journal / bookmark some other odds and ends if you want to do jewlery, there are some great handmade jewelry vendors on Etsy and even one on this forum (Agape Jems). personally, i would appreciate something one of kind and unique (even if it was $10) over a starfish necklace from Tiffany's that is $150. sorry guys!
  12. i know!! did you see the black button they made him wear? it say "i'm the groom" ROFL
