  1. Hi Ladies ... I am looking for some help / advice. We have been negotiating with Carambola Beach Resort in St. Croix (USVI) for a couple of weeks and they submitted their final proposal back to us today. It seems pretty fair but I feel a bit over-whelmed because it is NOT an all-inclusive and they really don't have a wedding package that we are using as a base.

Are there any ladies that have booked their sites and catering / sales at locations that are beach but NOT all-inclusives that would be willing to take a look at the proposal and give me some feedback? (mostly if the prices seem fair and what is or could be missing and creep us?)

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Hello!

I am planning on getting the girls plush white terry spa style bathrobes with their names sewn on in our colors. I also got them all travel jewelry pouches (hot pink and black silk) with their initals (and one for me and my mom!) when I asked them to be in our wedding.

As for the guys - we are still talking about it - some ideas are:

buying their shirts and ties (we are thinking seersucker or linen), Tiffany's keychains with their intials OR my FI was thinking about a Scuba trip on us. Any ideas for the guys would be much appreciated!

  3. Hi! I am in real estate in PA. You have gotten a lot of great advice here - the best thing i would tell you is to talk to an educated, experienced real estate agent who has had at least 50 settlements. Since title and mortgage issues differ from state to state, you will be best served by getting advice from someone who conducted most of their transactions in your state - that way they understand which fees are common in your area and which are total BS!

Good Luck and if you want any more info PM me

  4. We are considering Carambola Beach Resort - Home - St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands for our wedding - has anyone been there or heard anything about it? so far - i know that John Rockefeller built Carambola and Caneel Bay (St. John) as family retreats and that Caneel Bay was bought by Rosewood Hotels and maintained and is 5 Star. Carambola apparently fell to the wasteside a bit and a new owner came in last year with $20Million and started extensive renovations. It looks pretty great and sounds even better from my conversations with them but if any of you ladies have any info it is greatly appreciated!!!

    Thanks, Alyssa

Hi - Thank you for welcoming me. We are talking with Carambola Beach Resort in St. Croix and Normandie in P.R. We were also looking at Caneel Bay in St. John but their wedding coordinator and sales department took 2 months to send us an email that basically said Hi and still hasn't returned any of phone calls or messages so their out (and pretty expensive so probably for a reason!).
  7. Hi Ladies!

What a great forum - i just spent some time reading through some of the posts and i am grateful to have found this site and community. i hope i can share as many resources as i have already found. We are currently negotiating pricing with 2 resorts - one in USVI and one in P.R.

Can anyone recommend a travel agent on the East Coast who can handle airfare and bookings?

    Thanks!
