  1. We were orignally looking at getting married in El Dorado Royal (Beautiful Chapel) and the Moonpalace (Gazebo), but my FI didn't really like the hotels because of the beach and water.. (according to him it looked murky.. he's pretty picky). So now its either the Barcelo which has a open air Chapel with a thacthed roof. Or the Iberostar Del Mar - eventhough there are 5 hotels located together in the Iberostar chain, you have to stay in either the Del Mar or Beach if you want a Catholic Wedding. They have a Closed Chapel with stainglass windows located in shopping center of the hotel complex. According to their WC, Padre Juan Antonio Lopez, from a local fishing village, will be the one performing the ceremony. You can email me at [email protected], if you want some additional information from what the hotels sent me..... packages, descriptions, some limited pictures, etc. Sorry I didn't attach here but the PDF files are too big.
  2. Kathleen - That suxs... I'm sorry to hear you have so much work to do. I can't believe they need that many documents!!! Seems crazy! It seems to me that they have to allow you to get married if you can't get recent copies.... with all that paperwork you have to find, right?? I mean what are they going to do, say no??!?!
  3. I'm getting married at the end of November in RM... Not worried at all.
  4. Ohh another thing -- As far as sacramental certificates the only one we need is the Baptismal certificate.. according to our local priest .. But, I need to double check with the Priest in Mexico.
  5. Kathleen - I'm also having a Catholic Wedding. We just meet with our local parish priest last night so, I've only just started this whole process. Our priest had these things to say: 1. Need to take a Pre-Cana Class. In Chicago, were we live, they offer one day classes from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays, at certain locations. 2. Need the contact information of the Priest performing the ceremony in Mexico, so our Priest can send the necessary documents. 3. Need recent copies (within 6 months) of our Batism certificates (this is a pain for me as I was Batised in Austria). According to the hotels that perform Catholic Weddings (Iberostar Paradiso del Mar, and Barcelo), the necessary documents we need to send to the Priest in Mexico, are the same ones our local parish requires.... I still need to follow up on this and make sure. Our Priest also needs to send a letter of recommondation stating that we performed all of the necessary requirements for marriage. As far as legality, we may just get married legally here at city hall and do the religious ceremony in mexico. If you have any questions let me know!!
  6. Thanks for all the advice girls!!! Hearing everything you all have to say, I'll definantly stick to the tanning booth... I don't want anything rubbing off on my dress! or looking orange!!
  7. Yea I heard the individual spray works best.... I know it only lasts a week... I may do the booth a couple of times and see if I get any results, then maybe I'll do the spray if worse comes to worse.
  8. I can't get a tan for the life of me. I've tried tanning naturally (I look like a lobster), and tanning beds (I was ichy and didn't notice a huge difference). So I think I'm going to do the spray tan thing.... my FI thinks I'll end up orange, so I'm going to experiment way in advance.
  9. Soooo Elegant.. I love it!! I was thinking about using brown as one of my base colors as well... but my FI was like "BROWN? EWW!" He doesn't get it.
  10. Thats what happened to my FI, he kept getting older females, I mean like 60 years old... and was like what the heck!
  11. Ohhhhhhh.... so smart Julie. Thank you! Now lets see if I can do it, I sort of get what your saying. Or this: Photo - Sorry... it just isn't working for me for some reason when I save it to the desktop.
  12. I give up!! I tried it a zillion times, and previewed my message... oh well....
  13. Lets see if this works.. <a href="http://www.myheritage.com" title="MyHeritage - share black and white photos with facial recognition technology" alt="MyHeritage - share black and white photos with facial recognition technology" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.myheritagefiles.com/H/storage/site1/files/40/23/21/402321_52949866d23e54hijwpa01.JPG" width="500" height="574" border="0" ></a>
  14. Lenita -- Wishing you a safe trip, perfect weather, gorgeous ceremony, and an awesome reception!! And especially beautiful pictures to help you remember your perfect day!! Best Wishes!
  15. Why don't you ask your sister to talk to this BM and see what her problem is.... I would be honest with her and tell her that this is not her Party, and that she should put her own opinions aside to make this the most memaroble event for you. Ask her how she would feel if someone did this to her. Hopefully she will come around and do whats best. And if not, oh well, she doesn't need to come.... you don't need any negativity sorounding you. Good Luck!! and hopefully it will turn out for the best.
  16. I feel your pain.... I also have scars I want to get rid of, but, I'm holding off until the summer to do it. Have you ever thought of going to a Cosmetic Surgen?? I go to one that does injections, lasers, etc... and it seems to help. I wouldn't worry about it, the sooner you do it, the better you will feel. So hang in there, and just remember it may look bad during the treatment, but it will get better.
  17. Thank you for posting this!! Absolutely love them, I'm totally going to buy one!!
  18. All of your rings are beautiful and so elegant!! I think I posted this earlier in a different thread... Here's my attempt at being creative... Ring w Flower Pic.doc
  19. If you haven't already, check out Bluenile.com. That's were I got my ring. I agree that color is the most important aspect over clarity.... as long as you keep it in the VS range, it is not noticable, and I would say go no more lower than G color (D-F colorless, G is near colorless). I would spend more on the quality of the stone and mount it in a simple setting, but that's up to your taste. Mines an Asscher Cut, VV2, F, 2 carats, platnium band, a little over $16 for the stone, and $600 for the band.
  20. Go to the search engine in the forum and type in wedding.... it took me a couple of searches to find this under, I think I went into the info for Dreams Canun category. Sorry I can't remember exactly how I found it because I tried a variety of ways. Good Luck!
  21. Tammy (our host) is also a TA so she will be able to help you out if you need.
  22. Looks really nice!! I love the reception setup. I'm also from Chicago. Let me know if you need any help with any other resorts... or TA's.... pricing, etc. We are getting married in the Rivieria Maya are on November 30th.
