  1. Ahh thanks...I will do that...I will try and figure it out...I know my brother-in-law is a total computer wizard too so maybe when he gets home today I can call him and get him on it! Anyways I do have to get some work done here and I am just way to engrossed in the forum today so I will sign off for now and hopefully be posting some good news that the video is posted when I get back on tonight!
  2. The photo clip one is actually on one of those sites that Nicole posted...now I cant' remember which one it is but if you look at them, one of them does have their wedding video on there and it is just that....all there wedding photos put to music and then jazzed up a bit (i mean fading from one pic to the next type thing) and the adventure package is just a cheaper version of the higher end one...for Jeff and I we figured we only plan on doing this once might as well go all out and get the best quality version versus the cheaper and then regretting it later! Oh and we didn't go for the photo clip one because we figure we could just do that ourselves with our own computer if we really wanted it! Oh and on a side note if you now how to post videos on the web...could someone please tell me....they are both about 30 mins long (well will b...we haven't recieved the one from PV yet but we do have our brother-in laws!) Thanks again!
  3. Hey Ann, Yes the videographer will cut and paste and edit it all for you and make it very presentable...as soon as ours arrives I would be happy to post it for you...if I can figure out how to post it (my brother in law taped most of the night as well and I still can't figure out how to get his on the web...I want to just so everyone can see the area better but can't seem to figure it out!) But yes...I will let you know all the details when it arrives here!
  4. Ahh yes we did end up staying at Buenaventura and had and absolutley fabulous time....the resort (even though it is quite small) was an amazing place for us to stay at and we would definitely go again but I would caution about the Honeymoon suite, well that of course depends on how you are going about it. When we went down there...yes it was for our wedding but we were legally married before so we paid for a regular room but our travel agent booked us up to the Honeymoon suite (but it does say depends on availability and you have to check at check in) anyways long story short we got there and they had us in a 2 double bed room with no view...so we requested our upgrade being a honeymooning couple and they said non of their jacuzzi suites were available but they did bump us up to an ocean view king sized bedroom. Anyways we found out that night 3 other couples in our party had gotten bumped up to jacuzzi suite rooms because they had over booked...lets just say we weren't too impressed with that but we got over it rather quickly, since we didn't end up spending too much time in our room over the week anyways! But I just wanted to put that out there...just incase that was the route you were planning to take as well! They apparently over book quite often so run into room problems!
  5. Hi Ann, I won't be too much help here but I can let you know that we paid for the $575 package and, yes we haven't recieved it yet but the videographer was with us the whole night (well from when all our guests arrived at the boat dock in PV until our final dance at Las Caletas and he recorded everything. He also took one of our wedding cd's to incorporate that music into the video! Again I am not too sure if that helps at all but I know that particular package encompassed everything on our wedding day (he even came to get some shots of us getting ready) Well hope this helps a little...not too sure if it will or not but thought i would put it out there!
  6. We went with the photo frame idea and used an 11x14 sized mat with room for a 5x7 photo so it wasn't too big, everyone sign it for us and left little messeges and then we got our photographer to take a picture of the whole group of us and we used that photo and then framed it in a smaller silver frame so its really not that big and we absolutley love it! Its a great keepsake for us!
  7. Well here are a few of them that I had booked marked when I was searching tin candles! Hopefully one of these might worrk for you...the plain ones all offer some type of personalizing as well so it can be customized to how you like it! Hope this helps! 8. How cheap are you looking...I have seen lots of sites for them and if you let me know a price I might be able to help you out!
  9. Aww thanks Nicole...it was a pleasure to work with you too! We couldn't of asked for a better wedding planner!!!! Ahh and I can't wait to get back to Puerto Vallarta...i keep bugging Jeff about it cause there are some unbelieveabley cheap last minute packages at the moment but apparently we have to get back to work for a bit first! (Ha man I wish I was a millionaire who never had to work!) But we will get there soon enough thats for sure!
  10. Wow I never really thought about this either when we went down but I brought my e-ring and we also brought our bands! For us though, well I wore my e-ring everyday (just on my right hand during the ceremony) and we actually didn't have anyone clean our rooms until mid-week (when our wedding was) so no-one came into our room and got a chance to go through anything while our valuables where there! We just put the do not disturb up and then the morning of our wedding we took everything with us and got our room cleaned then...and everyday after that but then we weren't worried cause we were wearing our rings! Oh and we tipped the cleaners on a daily basis too but it worked out great and no-body got anything taken out of our group of 52 and we were staying right downtown PV on the beach!
  11. Kay this might seem a bit odd, but it wasn't actually too humid when we were down at the beach area, we were a bit sweaty by the end of the night but that was just from dancing non-stop, BUT it was pretty humid in the bridal suite. The suite is up a ways in more of the jungley (?) area of Las Caletas and I know we were kinda getting all sticky up there but kept on just going outside and cooling ourselves off! I would say you would be fine to curl your hair as long as you don't plan on spending hours in the bridal suite! It also hadn't really rained during the week there so I imagined that helped! I would guess if it was to rain, it would defiinitely get a little muggy there! Well hope that helps you out! I know we had guests who curled there hair and it was great all day!
  12. Ahh I unfortunately have no pics of it...(little to low for regular picture taking) but I have a red & white butterfly on the front of my right hip! Myself and 3 of my girlfriends all got them (we all got different colours but the same butterfly outline) when we graduated and absolutely love it! It hurt alot going over the hip bone but other than that I love it! But they are addicting...I am constantly wanting to get another one but my hubbie really doesn't want me too and luckly for him I haven't been able to find the exact one I want yet (I know its gonna be a daisy but haven't seen one I really really like!)
  13. Umm I actually don't know when kids count and don't...we had 4 kids at our wedding but we didn't know there was a different price for kids so we were just charged $40 for each of them...guess its something we really should of looked into but oh well! It really doesn't matter now! Oh and just so you know hopefully the site will be up by tomorrow...they said it takes 24hours to get the proper url address so it should be www.jeffandali.org when it gets up and running but its also searchable at Wedding Websites - Create your free premium wedding web site!, name being Ali Cram to search for! Anyways hope this helps a bit!
  14. We were sorta in the same boat, both myself and my hubbie come from large families who all live within a 3 hour radius and it would of been much more expensive to have a wedding at home then it was for us to spend a week away with 50 of our closest family and friends! We also knew we wanted to get married on a beach since we were engaged on one so when it came down to it....the beaches in Mexico were a lot nicer than our beaches at home!
  15. Yah I remember reading about that tip thing somewhere else too and Jeff and I kinda went about it a different way. We didn't actually leave Nicole any extra money since we were told that the planning fee ($900) went to her so we figured that was a good chunk (I am only saying this because all my friends that have been married and used wedding planners pay them about 15% of their budget which we did too!) We did leave Nicole some smaller wedding related gifts and then when we returned home we got a picture of the three os us and sent it down to her! Jeff and I did however though leave extra tips the day that we went over for our site inspection! The reason for this being we weren't really too sure who gets the tip money that is included in the wedding costs so we left money before we left Caletas and then again on the boat ride back home! This way we hoped that everyone would get a cut! Not too sure if that is how it works but that was just what Jeff and I felt was best since the group with us while we did our site inspection was fabulous....and very welcoming! (Be warned..they will drag you up to the front of the baot and make you dance and shoot tequilas if they know your the bride and groom to be!) But it was great fun!
  16. We chose a sand ceremony for ours and brought down sand to match our wedding colours and then we found this little bottle in a craft store and used it to pour our sand in and then sealed it closed with some glue and a cork! It looks really neat and its a great keepsake for us since we couldn't bring flowers back or anything like that! Anyways here's a picture of what it looked like too!
  17. Wow...it certainly doesn't take long for the post to add up on here! Umm I have already forgotten a lot of the questions that were posted so I will answer the ones that I remember and then go back and look afterwards! The table linens and runners were provided for us...we had a choice in the colour of the runners and I believe there are a few choices (we were offered red, beige, white or black since they were the only ones that went with our colours but there could of been more too!) Umm we didn't have any type of menu's on the table either (those were probably our CD favours) but at the buffet table all the dishes were labeled so your guests could see what everything was...and dinner was delicious!!! Finally the cake, we went for the chocolate version, which honestly I was a little worried about because I have had chocolate desserts in PV before and they were not very good, but this cake was great....it was chocolate with chocolate mousse around it and then covered with chocolate glaze! I know there is a white cake option too but Jeff really wanted chocolate and we were really happy with how it turned out! Anyways thats all I can remember for now but I will be ready for more questions anytime! Have a good night!
  18. Ahh Ann, I am so sorry to keep teasing you like this! I thought I would add just a few more pictures on here...they are more from the set-up. We only added petals to our table decorations because we brought down tea-light holders to use (without them I still think they had candles for the tables) As for that though this was just all how it was when we arrived! It was great to have to do nothing and have it turn out so wonderful for us! As for the video...well I will have to see how to post it when it gets here because I have no idea how to do that and my brother-in-law also made a video for us as well so we will see when we get them what we can do! Oh and I know in some of these photos you can see our favours as well (we chose cd's and little bags of jelly belly's and rockets; our favourite candy!) Hope this holds you over for a bit!!!
  19. Ahh yah....I am originally from the Island so its so nice to see someone else from the island on here! Good luck with all the planning and hopefully the engagement comes to you soon!!!! Keep us updated!!!
  20. Kay, I can try and answer a few of the questions but I might not be able to get to them all! Umm without the bamboo chuppa, I think they did have a palm arch that was provided (now thats just what i think, since Jeff and I pretty much chose the bamboo right away we didn't really think about other options) As for the cake, well it came from Las Caletas, we ordered it with our package. Nicole gave us a few options for it and then we just sent her a picture of what we would have liked it to look like and it turned out great! I am still working on posting more of the pictures on to a ewedding website so once there are more up there then I will supply a link for it! A lot of our picture are night-time shots because Jeff and I didn't want to see each other before the ceremony so we chose to have all our pictures down after the ceremony, but that was just our personal choice! We figured if we didn't like the night time ones then we would just do daytime shots the next day, but we thouroughly enjoyed the night-time ones! Anyways I have to get going....I am getting very excited to get our video back from there too (which should be arriving in about 2 weeks) so it will be more to look at! Ahh I just can't get enough!!!! Take Care!
  21. Ahh yes...i knew there would be questions, as for pictures well when we post them all on our site I will put a link up for it because we have about a 1000 photos and so it might be easier just to have them on a website instead! As for how everything went...it was great, Our wedding party went over on the 11:30 boat all together and so we hung out for a bit together and then the guys went out swimming and to hang out on the dock and then us girls just hung out in the bridal suite relaxing and getting ready! They have a lunch buffet ready for you when you arrive which we enjoyed first before anything and then just had a very relaxing day until the wedding! I would definitely reccommend going to Las Caletas before the ceremony for a site inspection too because it definitely put any worries we had to rest being able to see it all! Honestly I think the only thing we would have changed would have been probably staying longer but since we had younger kids with us we left at 10:30 and just continued on partying on the boat ride and then at the hotel but that was still tons of fun! It was such an amazing day and turned out to be very relaxing which all of us really enjoyed since I have seen some very stressful brides on their wedding day...but I also found it pretty emotional (as a bride you don't get to see the area all set up until you are walking down the steps so it really takes your breath away...i know I had to stop for a bit to get my composure back!) Oh and as for the ceremony area that was how it looked...we did pay for the bamboo chuppa though since my hubbie absolutely loves bamboo but other than that, this was how it looked (we kinda stayed pretty minimal with the decorations!, but it still took our breath away!) Anyways I should get back to work here but I just wanted to post a little something for ya!
  22. Well maybe I should have posted them each seperatly because they kinda of all mixed together but you get the general idea...we have so many photos between the photographer and all our guests that its really hard to choose. (We ended up taking our laptop down and then on our last day collected everyones digital cameras and copied there photos...it worked really well, and saved Jeff and I from having to worry about getting photos of everyone!) Anyways enjoy these few and if you have any questions I would be happy to respond!!!!!
  23. Alrighty...so I am gonna try posting just a few pictures on here just to give you a little taste. I think they should be pretty self explanitory but if you do have any questions about them feel free to ask! Anyways here goes and hopefully this works...ahh it is such a magical place and we lucked out by having beautiful weather for our day so we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out!
  24. Oh my goodness we couldn't of asked for a better day and a more memorable wedding night! It was absolutely amazing! Nicole (wedding planner) and Brad (our officiant) do an amazing job and they are so incredibly helpful! We just arrived home yesterday, and have all our pictures already (getting the video in about 2 weeks) and I will definitely be posting them soon but just have to get settled as hubbie and wife first! Ahh and for any of those worried about it, I truly wouldn't be....they take care of absolutely everything for you! Our whole wedding party (jeff and i and our two bridesmaids and groomsman) all went over on the 11:30 boat and it was great to be able to relax and hang out together before everyone else arrived...apparently the boat ride out was great too for all our guests but we preferred being out there first and still had a blast coming back with all our guests! Anyways we are hoping to post all our ceremony pictures on the web soon but will definitely keep ya updated!!!! IT WAS THE BEST! and our guests were all blowin' off there feet they were so impressed!
  25. Oh I want to thank you all for bringing this to my attention...my fiance are actually scrapbooking our whole wedding from the engagement to the flight home and we have been looking for something like this and just didn't really like the iphoto one but we have just downloaded the one from mypublisher and found it so easy to use...Its not going to be our offical album but we figure this will be a great one for us to truck around with us when we go visiting and show our family the destination wedding! Thanks so much!!!!
