I am so sorry to hear. I work in insurance and I know how frustrating the whole process can be. Thankfully no one was hurt. Despite the awful news, try to enjoy the holidays

I love it! You must be so proud!

What great/ridiculous product have you bought off an infomercial?

There was also an additional charge for the centerpieces, sorry, i don't remember the cost. If you need to know, let me know and I'll dig through my stuff for you. My wedding was at the end of hurricane season and I had no problems at all.

I really like Parker but I feel bad for him b/c I think Jen wrecked his game by revealing her secret so early in the game! By the way, I have a really good spoiler/play by play website I visit often. In case anyone is interested here's the link: Morty's TV The Big Brother 9 Live Feeds Daily Update

Did your center pieces and pink sashes on the chairs cost extra? Sorry maybe I didn't explain myself well. The cost of the private reception site was $500. The cost of food was separate - we had the choice of several menus starting at $35/plate. The center pieces & pink sashes were also an extra cost. I can't remember the price of the center piece but I think the sashes were $5/chair.

Night Before and Day of the Wedding
aimee replied to jfwolfe72's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Me and DH already lived together before we got married but we decided to stay in separate rooms. I had my bridesmaids stay with me and he stayed with my brother in law. I missed him the entire night and the entire day of our wedding until I saw him waiting for me at the end of the aisle. -
I had 40 guests. I'm still waiting the slideshow.

The beach reception was great. It's not everyday that you get married in Cabo and can dance under the stars right by the water. I didn't want to have my ceremony on the beach so the reception was a great alternative. Unless it's really windy (like tornado!) on the night of your wedding, you don't have to worry about the sand in your food. -where's the garden? -i'll post pictures tonight.

-The cost for a private reception is $500. -I'm pretty sure that if you pay the price for an open bar that it's unlimited, double check with Daniella. -I didn't have a cocktail hour. I'm glad I didn't have one because most of my guests wanted to get out of the sun and freshen up before the reception. I suggested to my guests to hang out in the lobby bar for drinks and shade. -they set up a dancefloor on the beach. I acutally loved the set up of my reception! -i didn't get a dj, instead we brought an ipod and had a friend play it for us. You should be able to rent the speakers for free. -I think the only co-ordinator you can use is the RIU one. When I looked into it, all the co-ordinators told me that I had to work with the RIU. -problems with Daniella: 1) I didn't have my flowers until about 20 minutes before my ceremony. My sister had to track her down! 2) I gave her candles for my candle ceremony but they weren't at the ceremony when we were ready to light them. Daniella had to run back to her office to get them. We were able to move on with the ceremony but I was disappointed that the flow of the ceremony wasn't there. 3) I also gave her some decorations for my reception to put on the tables and they weren't there when the guests arrived. Daniella was already with another wedding so I had to ask someone to get her or get into her office to get them. -I've heard that the Riu has hired a 2nd co-ordinator so hopefully you won't run into as many problems. The co-ordinator prior to Daniella was telling me that the job is too big for one person and that was her reason for leaving -she was too stresed. -I'll post some pictures tonight.

I can definately do without the costumes but I loved going to competitions. I was raised in a small city so I always got to travel for my competitions. I also miss the close friendships I've developed. I truly believe that dancing has kept me out of trouble as a teenager. And I think my parents loved the fact that I was too busy dancing rather than dating. LOL.

sorry, duplicate post.

I danced (tap, jazz, ballet) for 16+ years and I miss it so much. I've heard that the NYC ballet dvd is good. Since I'm prego I'll have to wait to try it myself. Let me know what you think of it. Glenda, that is so funny that you do Britney videos. I usued to do this too with my best friend too!

lol. I'm also trying to forget the bad memories of my wedding. Cabo is a beautiful place and I can't wait to go back one day. I just got my photos from Juan this weekend. I had to get my husband to keep on emailing him because I was getting frustrated. It was worth the wait b/c they turned out great.

Kim, I remember reading your review and I felt so bad for you. I didn't have a 'perfect' wedding either but I don't think my experience was as bad as yours. I still loved my wedding but at some times I wish Adriana was at my wedding instead of Daniella. I agree that the 'open bar' charge is a complete waste of money!

Riu Palace Cabo - My wedding is in Sept!!!
aimee replied to lml911's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I was married in Oct 07 at the Riu Palace. It was Daniella's 2nd day on the job when I got married so I'm sure you can appreciate how stressed out I was. However, she seemed very organized for just picking up a big work load. My advice to all the Riu brides is also to stay organized- be sure to bring all your emails. Ask me anything you want and I'll do my best to help.
