  1. Hi Lindsey - when is your wedding? DJ Ricardo is really good at emailing back pretty quickly. I would give him a few days and if you don't hear back, try emailing again. I'm sure he'll respond soon! I hope you can book him!!

  2. I did NOT do a trial run and it was fine! I also wanted more time with my guests by the pool... :) But then again, I didn't do an up-do, I just had my hair flat-ironed and pulled back - very simple.

The woman I had didn't speak English, but an assistant (Paolina) came with her and she translated everything. I think this is always the case, so I wouldn't worry about the language barrier. I also did have a picture which I think helped a lot.

Jess - if you give yourself enough time on the day of your wedding, you probably don't need a trial run. Do you have a pic of what you want to do?

I paid $215 per hour for DJ Ricardo but he set up a microphone and speaker for our ceremony for free. He was GREAT!!!! I highly highly recommend him! Everyone was up dancing (there were even dance-offs with dance circles going on)! Lots of fun!

He speaks english and is very reliable. So many of my guests have commented on how great our DJ was!

  4. Jenesis - I used Suzanne Morel for my hair & make-up and my sister ended up having them do her eyes (make-up) right when I was finished because she loved it. Maybe your mom or sister wants to just do their eyes (partial make-up)? They are SO nice, so I would assume they will give you a credit for manicure/pedicure regardless? Or maybe you could use it towards a trial - are you planning to have one?

Andrea - I used them for my wedding day hair & make-up. They came to my room at Dreams (right on time) and flat ironed my hair (i've never had it straighter!) and kept my make up pretty simple (exactly what I wanted!). They are SO nice & use all MAC make-up. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!!!

I was originally planning to go to the Dreams spa and after Sarah's review, I changed my mind. I was VERY happy with Suzanne Morel. It's worth the money, you do not want to stress about hair/make-up on your wedding!

  5. This was our schedule...

4:40pm - guests head to beach (they had to be there early to participate in sand ceremony *we made the announcement at rehearsal dinner that they had to be on time*)

    5-5:30pm - Ceremony

    5:30-6:45pm - Cocktail hour

(we took family photos and photos around the hotel and some on the beach at this time)

    6:45pm - 10:30pm - Dinner, Speeches, Dancing, etc...

**We snuck off for a few sunset photos while everyone was eating dinner (7:15pm-ish, the sun sets over the hill so you don't have to wait until the true sunset time)... It worked well!

  6. I had the same thought - who is Tammy Bhuh.gif Good change - I like it!

  7. Thanks Juan!!! I thought you knew I was a BDW bride - I found out about you from this forum and by admiring all of your pictures from all of the other girls! We were so happy to book you!!

Keith & I honestly had the BEST time taking pictures with you on our wedding!!!! Everyone keeps saying how our photographer was SO great, took a lot of unique shots and seemed to be everywhere! Thanks for putting up with our wild group! We can't wait to see the pictures!

I saw Sarah's pics today and love them! Your work is phenomenal!

I'll email you - we're leaving for our honeymoon on Friday so maybe I could just have a teaser photo before I leave...? :) That will give you another 2 weeks!

Shoot you'll probably have yours back before I get mine. Good for you, not so good for me.. :-((((
Tammy - it's only been 8 days for me but still NO word from Juan Carlos! I really want to see a teaser photo but I don't want to bug him too much! Did he give you any time estimate for your photos??

I'll be on my honeymoon June 15-23, so I don't need mine until I'm back but I would love a teaser photo.....

thanks! We got them from J Crew. J.Crew > features > catalog/jcrew.com exclusives > dresses > Silk chiffon sophia dress(in strawberry ice color). They are reasonably priced and ALL of my bridesmaids said they will wear it again - they are really comfortable and a good fit for everyone! It's really easy to buy online and return in a store if you need to. (j crew always has shipping specials but, if you order in a store, you don't have to pay for shipping).

Tell Kenda THANKS! that is so sweet!! I loved my dress & was really sad to take it off and realize I'll never wear it again. One of my nieces asked if she could wear it for her wedding - hopefully that will happen b/c I would love someone else to wear it!

The Portofino is a restaurant at Dreams. Mariana did a great job decorating it! We wanted our rehearsal dinner indoors since our wedding was all outdoors, and we wanted an intimate night for the rehearsal dinner w/ speeches. it turned out really nice!!

(we wanted all of my nieces/nephews in it which made a long procession!!) it took a while for the littlest one to get down the aisle and once she got to the front, one of the little boys shoved her - i didn't see it but it's prob on video, she didn't care at all since she has so many older siblings. you will have fun with your 4 flower girls!!!! they were so excited to be princesses for a day!
