  1. Hello - we have officially decided on Dreams (much thanks to Tammy host)!! We're getting married on June 3rd 2007. I still can't believe we actually have a date! We're going to Cabo for our site visit over New Yrs but I haven't organized anything yet for that visit! I was going to use Blanca as a coordinator but it sometimes takes a while for her to respond. Should I have her coordinate all of our vendor meetings during our site visit, or should I do it? There is so much info on this forum, I kind of have an idea of who we should meet with.

Also, how did you girls contact Juan? I keep reading the rave reviews and want to see if he is available on 6/3.

I will take TONS of pics when we are down there and post a review afterwards. Does anyone need me to do anything for them in Cabo? I'll be there 12/28-1/5 (with a trip to Todo Santos & La Paz as well if we can fit it in).

Do most Dreams brides do everything at Dreams (welcome dinner, rehearsal dinner...)? We want to do our wedding on the beach and will def have our reception there but I wasn't sure if we should go off site one of the nights for a welcome thing or our rehearsal dinner... Also, did anyone plan any daily activities for your guests? We may have ~80 people!

One other thing - I LOVE the lantern idea (rebecca)... maybe some of us could share since most of us are getting married in May/June...?

    Jen

  2. thanks everyone! we went through our guest list last night (160) to try to estimate who we really think will be there. we are at ~85-90 people who we think would be a definite (not counting 13+ kids!) - this is much bigger than i thought... hopefully it will end up being smaller! i have a huge family and he has tons of friends that he thinks all will make it... so, now we're thinking a smaller venue might not work for us anyway. we also need to work within our budget so we think Dreams may be the best choice. like rebecca said, our friends are big drinkers also so the bar tab alone might exceed our budget! :)

i did talk to someone who got married at Marbella Suites En La Playa and they were able to bring in alcohol themselves which would be a huge savings. they loved Marbella, however, would this place even be able to accommodate all of us?? they have 40 rooms, i just don't know how big the pool / reception area would be... i hate having to choose without seeing either place...!! i really appreciate all of the input!! we have to decide by the end of this week!!

  3. hi girls, my fi & i are trying to make a blind decision on our location and i wanted to get some opinions from all of you cabo experts. we really want to get married this spring and we won't be in cabo for scouting until new years, so we have to make our location decision prior to our visit (aah!). we are probably going to have approx 70-80 guests at our wedding and we really would love a location where all of us can stay together. my fi & his friends all surf so ideally we'd like a beach where you can swim but otherwise, they'll just make their way to surfing spots each day. we'd rather be in the san jose or corridor area, rather than right downtown in cabo san lucas just to avoid crowds and too much of a scene. i have 13 nieces & nephews so we also need a kid friendly place. however, we really don't want the rooms to cost too much for our guests and we want to feel like we are in mexico, not a US resort.

here are the options (so far) that have dates available for us:

    1) Dreams - why is there no swimming at this beach? is there beach/ocean access, i keep hearing mixed things and we're not sure what we think of AI idea...??

    2) Marbella Suites en la playa (has anyone been here?)

    3) Fiesta Americana - too expensive i think

    4) Still waiting to hear about Cabo Surf & Casa del Mar & Hilton

any other fabulous suggestions of places i should look into...?? I really appreciate the input - this is such a hard decision! Jen

  4. Hi - i was possibly interested in having my wedding at Fiesta Americana based on a recommendation from a friend, however, I have not seen any postings from anyone on this hotel. I have never been there, so I'd love some input by anyone that may have scouted this location. Pros / cons?? thank you!

  5. I just got engaged this past weekend and we are hoping to plan a spring wedding in cabo. not sure how realistic that will be... I have been looking up coordinators on-line and I wanted to know if anyone had a recommendation. I have corresponded with WeddingsByHeart (blanca) and WeddingsParadise (jennifer). Has anyone used either of these? Or do you have another recommendation? We will be scouting in late December and I'm not sure if it's best to have a coordinator take us around, or if we should do it on our own and work with the coordinator on site at each hotel. Any advice or recommendations would be really helpful, especially if I want to plan such a quick wedding - I'd love to have a coordinator I can trust that can do a lot of the leg work for us. thanks!

  6. hello - i am posting my first message. i am so glad i found this forum. i am just beginning to plan my wedding in cabo and i know the information from the other brides will be so helpful.
