  1. FYI - despite the name, Dreams Tulum is not in Tulum nor is it near the Boca Paila Road. It's 20 minutes away by cab. Without transportation, Dreams Tulum is not connected to anything in Tulum.
  2. Here's a Highlight Edit from the gazebo at the Barcelo Maya Palace. Enjoy
  3. You can see lots of different locations in the Riviera Maya on our Vimeo site: https://vimeo.com/user138123/videos
  4. Here's a wedding video that Rachel and I shot at Le Reve with photographers Ben and Erin Chrisman. It rained on the wedding day so we came back the next afternoon to do the portraits.
  5. Hi, here's a wedding video we shot at the Royal in Playa del Carmen:
  6. Here are some wedding videos from the Barcelo Maya Palace to help you envision your wedding. The first one is a Hindu ceremony at Playa Azul followed by a Catholic ceremony in the chapel. The second one was scheduled at Playa Azul but moved to an alternate location because of high winds.
  7. Great! I'm glad the videos help. Here's another from Le Reve on a rainy day. That will give you a complete picture of what to expect. We came back the next day to do portraits in the sunshine.
  8. Here's a video of a wedding at Rosewood Mayakoba with photos by Vincent, from Del Sol Photography.
  9. Here is the reception portion of a wedding video from Azul Beach where DJ Folken (DJ Falcon) was the DJ. They do a great job with sound, lighting, bubbles and fog. They also have video projection and neon bracelets which you can see in this video. http://www.vimeo.com/28503789
  10. Here's a video of a wedding on the beach at Le Reve. <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/27392327?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="820" height="461" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen allowFullScreen></iframe>
  11. I've worked at Azul resorts several times (photo/video) and they always find a table for us that is separate from the wedding party seating.
  12. We sat down and brainstormed at Vincent's (Zasil) apartment on the One Green Wedding idea. It's great and necessary. We talked about using potted flowering plants instead of cut flowers. Putting solar lights in the plants so they charge up during the ceremony, then illuminate for the reception. The normal practice is cut flowers. Depending on what type of flowers you choose they may have to be imported from as far away as Europe or Asia and that burns a lot of petroleum. Once the wedding is over these flowers end up in the trash. A few smart choices can go a long way towards reducing the carbon footprint of your wedding. We're taking steps here at PlayaWeddings toward an eco-friendly package that doesn't use excess plastic or inkjet printer inks. I have a real problem with the computer printer racket. A full set of inks costs more than the printer itself and they run out faster and faster. Recharging cartridges seems to create more problems and leads to useless printers. All of it continues to build mountains of trash and cost me money. We now use rubber stamps with the bride and groom's name using RibType (http://www.ribtype.com) and acid-free archival inks on the disc itself. I found out that inkjet printer inks can penetrate the disc over time and render it unplayable. Another benefit of going green. When you think about it, how much value does it add to see a full color picture of yourself on the disc as you put it in the player. You only need to differentiate it from your other discs, having your photo on the disc only adds plastic to landfills. We are also designing a wooden box to hold the discs, this will replace the plastic sleeve and our packaging will be plastic free. Leanne is committed to every step that reduces the carbon footprint and she expects the same from her vendors. We would all love any ideas you have for going green. Post them here, we're doing it!
