Hello DRC Brides!!

Im new to the forum and loving all the info!! I would love to have our wedding at the new DRC but before we confirm our date,, I was wondering if anyone has heard about if having an outside photograhper is allowed at the resort?? Im so confused about this because I was told by antoher bride on FB that you can have one but then Ana emailed me the other day saying they dont allow outside photographers.. If anyone has any feedback on this, I would love to hear it : ) I really love this resort and it looks like its going to be amazing but I really wanted to have an outside photographer!!! Pamela,
Welcome to this forum! We are all learning from eachother on here and it is a good way for us to share information. I wish I could answer your question. I am confused also about the photographer. I have been told that Claudia, the old WC, had said we could use outside photographers and Ana, the new WC, will not allow it. Is it really up to the WC or is it a resort regulation? I wonder if Ana came from a resort where it wasn't allowed and she has just assumed that it is not allowed at Dreams. It seems weird that all Dreams resorts would not follow the same rules.

I have asked my TA to confirm with Ana. I am getting married there regardless, but I won't waste my time researching various photographers if we do not have this option. It would be nice to know!

Hi ladies, I haven't had time to log on for a few days and it's been driving me nuts. I have to vent a little about my TA. She told me the other day that the rooms w/ plunge pools and oceanviews at DRC are waitlisted for the dates my guests will be there? What does that even mean? I've never heard of it. I'm starting to get worried that there will not be enough rooms for my guests. Have any of you heard of this? Are you getting group rates or is your TA shopping around for the best deals? WTF...should I be worried?

Seriously, a wait listhuh.gif Ouch! That makes me nervous because we are a week apart and if there is a wait list for your guests then I assume it will be the same for me. There is so much hype around this resort that I guess it is not too surprising but...? Seriously, a wait list!!!!! When you hear from your TA please let us know. We have decided to NOT do the group booking (at least for now) because June 2010 seems so far away still and we are hoping that prices will go down in a few months.

Has anyone received a quote for ports within Canada? My original quote was for about $2200 per person incl tax. Thought this was a little high so we cross our fingers the price will decrease over the next bit. Wonder if prices are higher now because the resort has no idea of how things will go over the first few months.

Welcome Pamela! Congratulations on your engagement. How is your planning going? Have you looked into any other resorts?

As for the outside photographer, I have heard the same things that SDBeachgirl has said. Claudia said outside photographer's are okay but I have not asked Ana yet. If anyone has an email from Claudia indicating that it is okay could that be forwarded to Ana and see what he response is? Just a thought...

Yes, I've been keeping up to date every Tuesday on Face Book. With only about 4 weeks until opening I'm guessing that they'll be starting to show some room and restaurant photos in the very near future. The vegetation will still be at an early stage but I've seen photos of Secrets Maroma when it first opened and DRC seems to be ahead of that at the same stage. The air con at Secrets Maroma has been a problem so I think DRC will learn from the problems that Secrets Maroma has had and will be a great resort from the start. I'm mentioning Secrets Maroma as DRC reminds me of it (I've looked through all the photos on trip advisor).

Here's the spa prices.

Thanks Beachgirl. I don't have enough points to open attachments but I'll be sure to have a look when I finally have enough.

I had a friend who emailed that address that I provided you with earlier and these were emailed to her. Let me know if you want me to forward them to your email.

I hate how this website doesn't allow you to view certain attachments if you don't have enought points! I feel like I am on this ALL the time and yet I am still a NOOB (whatever that stands for). Oh well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
