Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

To the ladies recently married at OCT, do you know if the resort has these vases? or something close that we can use/put water in? This is my idea for our centerpieces, and I'm hoping I dont have to bring vases!

I am also still debating where to have our reception dinner, did any of you get a chance to see the reception hall? does it have a nice atmosphere or is it basically a room with a couple of windows? Ana has sent me some pics but it really doesn't look that great...

thank you for all your help!!!

Hey Ladies!

My fiancee and I stayed at this hotel in November 2008. It was nice because it's really modern looking and the grounds are immaculate. The food was good (wasn't crazy about the Mexican restaurant though) and the pools and drinks were great. The other thing we weren't crazy about is the nightlife. There isn't much going on there during the week until the weekend and then it gets fun. There isn't a disco so it's pretty quiet - until the weekend when they have stuff happening in the main lobby. On the Saturday night they brought in a live band and everyone was dancing, so that was great.

We saw a wedding there and that inspired us to have our wedding on the beach in Mexico. I have some pictures of the wedding set up, so if you want I can send you a personal message with those (I'm not sure how to do it on here). I also have tons of pictures of the resort in general. The ceremony was really nice and the wedding party/guests seemed to have a great time all week together. I think the lack of activities at night might not matter as much when you have a group to hang out with. The other nice thing about the resort is it's a smaller boutique style hotel (well...small for Mexico) so it keeps things intimate.

Hope this helps! I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have.

Jennifer - Could you email me the pics that you have? My email is [email protected]. I am getting married there on 9/19/09.

Everyone -

I am trying to decide on dinner options for after the cermony as well...Does anyone know which option they chose and how much it was? It seems everytime I ask Ana, I get different prices.

Thanks!

Brooke

Hi Brooke,

I just sent them to you. The file is probably big, sorry!

The restaurants we enjoyed the most were the Asian and the outdoor one (can't remember the name now). It's the one where some menu items are included and some are extra. It's really nice and the food/service is excellent!

Ack! I haven't been getting email notifications either...except I got shorty's last one. Odd.

bcbride- I don't know if they have vases like that, but I think that Ana can source things if you want (love the centrepiece idea, btw!). I would ask her if she either has them or can get them, and the cost. Glass would be a tricky thing to bring down.

I wasn't aware that there was a reception hall (our group was small), so our only options for reception were the Mexican restaurant and the Villa Marina (open-air one), so I can't help you with that one. I remember seeing a building that was labeled as a conference centre, so maybe it's in there.

bnmarten- We chose the Villa Marina Restaurant (outdoor one). Our options were the Mexican, the Villa, and the Buffet. We chose the Villa, it's most appropriate for a wedding reception (in my opinion). Another wedding that week went with the Buffet option, and pulled some tables/chairs together outside by the lounge beds (it was a small group). We did the Cajun Chicken [i forget what we paid now, it was less than she initially told us (we asked for the lowest price as we were working with a budget) and the price went down]. I wish we would have done the steak though, it was AWESOME.

*I think though, that all the dinner options should be the same price, I just remember having to choose the option as far as food dish, but the price per person was always going to be the same*

shorty- I think that Shelley was able to get some linens for the tables in blue for the reception from Ana. I think Ana had them brought over from somewhere. So, I think she can source some decorating stuff if you need. I would ask Ana to be sure though.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
