  1. Hey all, I haven't been on this forum for a while, but I just came back from my wedding at H10 OCT and wanted to write a review. First and foremost, I want to say that everything that I worried about prewedding was completely unnecessary. Whatever planning or communication issues you have, whether its with Ana or in general, don't worry about it. Everything gets taken care of once you get there. Hotel - The grounds are beautiful. There are lots of areas to lounge and relax, plenty of photo-ops. The beach is also beautiful. There were some days with almost no seaweed and some days with. The hotel does everything they can to clean the beach, however they can't control the currents that bring it in. The rooms are also great. They are spacious, very modern, any room on levels 2 and above has ocean view. My hubby and I were upgraded to the suite, which was fantastic. Huge!!! It was the perfect place for the girls and I to get ready in the day of the wedding. There is not much to do at the hotel at night for a young crowd. The options are just to lounge around the hotel or go to Cancun. We had a fairly large group, so we kept each other entertained. Wedding - We met with Ana the day we arrived in Mexico. She had all our paperwork and emails printed. She is exactly like others described her on this forum: wonderful. She will try to accomodate your every wish and keep you happy. Whatever it is you want, they can pretty much arrange. However, most things will come with a price tag. I did not select the flowers ahead of time. It seems that Ana had a wider selection once I was there in Mexico than what she sent me when we were planning from home. The flowers turned out absolutely beautiful!!! Make-up and hair - had it done by my friends, so I can't comment on the salon at the resort. However, I did get a pedi there and it was fine. We had our ceremony on the beach. The set up is perfect!! It was beautiful and simple. Given the beautiful surroundings, you really don't need to overdecorate (which is great and saves us money). Your other option is to have the ceremony on the terrace outside the honeymoon suite. This, too, is a beautiful location. It would give you privacy from other guests at the hotel, if you care about that. Ana has a plan also in case of bad weather for an indoor ceremony. The sound system worked perfectly. All our guests were very satisfied. We brought our own officient, so I cant comment on the one the hotel provides. The ceremony was at 4pm. (lighting was great at this time) After the ceremony, our guests got served champaign while we took pictures with guests and family. The reception started at 6. Again, because we had a fairly large group, we had a private reception at the banquet hall. Other options are to have it at the Villa Marina (one of the specialty restaurants - pretty place with a roof and open sides) or at the lobby terrace (completely outside, not as private because other hotel guests will be passing by all the time). We chose the banquet hall because of privacy and we wanted to party late, so the enclosed space wouldnt bother the other hotel guests. Also, it was fairly windy when we arrived there, so we chose not to have it on the terrace in case of colder weather. Ana said that they do not close the Villa Marina restaurant in high season (?dec-mar). For food we went with the buffet option, so that the guests had choices. I honestly didn't eat that much food (all the toasts and pictures, etc), but all the guests were very satisfied. We hired the hotel DJ for the reception, but one of our friends is a DJ so he basically played his music using the hotel DJ's equipment. The cake was beautiful and tasty. The package included a cake for 15 people only, but Ana increased it for us at no charge. Overall the party was really fun, we partied until 2 am. Dress - I brought the dress on the plane with me. They let me hang it up. My dress though was not a princess dress, so I am not sure what you would do with a bigger dress. My mom just ironed my dress when we got there and it worked just fine. So, overall we are extremely satisfied and happy that we chose H10 OCT. Ana is really great. Our guests loved it!!!!!! A couple of our friends who are in process of planning their wedding, loved ours so much, that they decided to have theirs at OCT as well. I am sure I am missing a ton of info that you girls are interested in. Feel free to ask me anything, I promise to be honest in my responses. My email is olya.polishchuk@gmail.com, if you want to just email me a question. I will post a link to my pictures as soon as they are up on line. So stop stressing and enjoy it when it comes because it is wonderful, beautiful and fun and it flies by. Olya
