Hi Everyone! I'm Jacki and new to the forum. My fiance (and best friend) are planning to wed March 2008 in Mexico/Carribean. My first marriage was abusive and cause me to be gunshy about ever doing it again but Jim ( also had a bad marriage) was a true gem --loving & patient-- changed my heart! We are also truck drivers & cruise the US together. The only time off in 5 yrs has been the rare but quick trip to the house for holidays & mail checks so time off in Mexico sounds like heaven. I want to plan a DW that is romantic and as special as the love of this man has been to me. Any ideas are welcome as I am flustered with all the options. Hope to hear from you soon.

Welcome Jacki! It sounds like you two are perfect together - a match made in heaven. Your past sounds awful ... but now you get to look forward to the future!

Let us know more about what you're looking for, and maybe we can help narrow it down. Trust me, we all know what it's like to try to narrow down a location - it's soooo overwhelming at first! But I promise it will be easier with the help of all the girls here on this forum!

Some things to think about ...

1) do you want an all-inclusive?

2) do you want to get married at a resort, or somewhere remote?

3) does the resort have to be adults only? or family oriented?

4) where will most of your guests be coming from?

5) how big will the wedding be?

6) do you wnat beach? gazebo? jungle? indoor?

Hope this helps!

Welcome Jacki. I'm so glad that you found the man of your dreams! Like Ann said, these ladies (and gents) on the forum know A LOT and will definately help you find the perfect local. In addition, everyone has great ideas for receptions and invitations. I think you'll find everything you need right here. And if you don't, just let us know and I'm sure we'll come up with something :)

Thanks guys--kinda new to this forum stuff--thinking about going with an all-inclusive resort beach wedding -- not alot of time to research non resort venues -- originally we wanted Belize but heard about pesky bugs "no-see-ums" and changed to Mexico. Maybe Barelo -- oh i dunno

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
