We just got engaged a few months ago and are now looking at some options for our wedding. We are planning to get married in 2011 and have three locations at the top of the list as I live in Australia but we have family in Vancouver Island, BC Canada and Mazatlan, Mexico. Would love any advice!! :)

Thanks so much!! We are lucky enough that our family will travel so we just want to find the best location for them all also the most cost efficiant but still have a great ceremony and reception. Congratulations to you too! Where in Mexico will you be having yours? Why did you choose October? Are you doing the blood test and xrays or will you get married legally before you go and just have a ceremony?

Would love to hear anything you can tell us! :)

Thank you - we're getting married in Playacar. We got engaged in July 2009, I wanted to get married in May/June 2010, but then we thought about the cost for us and our guest,so thought we'd wait until after the hurricane season... well just after!

We are having a legal ceremony, no X-rays though just blood test.

It's great you've got family willing to travel - will you be able / or have you already been to these places and got locations in mind... beach, chapel etc?

Why do you not want to get married in Australia?

Congrats on the engagement. One way to decide is to have a running comparison of the three places. You can definitely find tons of info on here about different resorts in Mexico and also member reviews who got married at different venues. Australia is beautiful (as I know you know). You do have a tough choice. Good luck!

Wow great to hear from you all!! This is great!! We love Australia though we have alot more people that would have to travel, so thought Mexico and canada were nice and close for them. I have been to mazatlan a couple of time sbut didnt really check out any hotels or venues for weddings at all. I really liked the look of the new Crowne plaza but didnt know much about it but have seen alot of posts on torres. I am just worried about the blood test! Mrs Price do you have a package or someone organising all this for you?

Bpink you will love aus!! When you decide to come let me know and I can give you some cool places to see and things to do! congrats on your wedding too!

How long ago did you have to book to get your dates?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
