What a great feature.. I never knew about this.. there are some brown ones, but no aqua...

All the other links look really close, but the color is slightly off.. The aqua is really rich and vibrant.. the SeaMist and Heavenly blue are alot lighter.. I think it will be obvious that it's different..

It's a halter top so that's good.. I wonder if they can take a little off the bottom and extend it.. or she could keep her backside to the ocean all night so nobody sees the safety pins.. lol

I wore this dress in brown as a BM last September. We purchased them at Macy's. If you have the code on the price tag and phone a Macys or Nordstroms they can check thier computers to see what store has them. We had to do this because they didn't have the right size for us and they gave me a list of about 25 different stores that carried them and we were able to order it.

Yeah, I'm going to try that.. that happened with my last order.. I needed an 8 and they were out.. I called the closest store, but the lady was in a big hurry and said they didn't carry it.. I always wondered if she was just too busy to deal.. great suggestion.. I'll try that again!

Call the customer service desk rather than a specific department - that usually works better.

First of all the Nordstroms customer service reps are so great.. I've called twice on two different issues and both ladies were so great and went out of their way to help. FYI They updat their website on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Unfortunately, my dress is only sold online and unless they have someone return the Aqua dress in a larger size, I'm SOL.

I could either not ask her to be in the bridal party or find new dresses for 4 girls of various sizes (one is giving birth in August)... mind you the three girls love their dresses, but all tags are still on. I do have the size 14 but I think it's a misses and judging by the way she's talking, she thinks she's fat so I'm assuming she's 14W, not misses.

What would you guys do? She was a close friend, but we just recently started talking again..she lives out of state so she hasn't been and won't be involved with any of the other wedding events (engagement party, dress shopping, bridal shower, bachelorette). She added me last minute to her wedding party (wedding is next week).

Ah... this is really stressing me out!smile105.gif

you're in a tough spot, for sure. i really wouldn't let the dress thing keep you from having her in your wedding if this is what you really want! it's just a matter of what to do about it.

how close are the blues in the dresses we found online - did you ask the Nordstroms people (not sure they'd know)?

is there a real similar dress in a matching color? not many people would notice (or care!) if there slight differences in the style. it's probably easier to hide a style difference over a color difference.

maybe 1 girl could get a dress to match the new girl - then it would be 2 in the "old" dress and 2 in the "new" dress.

girls often tend to exagerate their size ("oh my god, i am sooo fat!")- maybe she is not really that big? can she try on teh dress and then you go from there if it doesn't fit?

hmm sounds like a lot of added stress. i personally wouldn't ask her to be in the wedding. even if you were close for many years, that sounds like it was a while ago. while you may be coming closer now, i don't think you should feel like you have to ask her

oh gosh, that sounded really mean. sorry! it wasn't meant to be! i'm just of the opinion that in terms of bridal parties less is more

I kinda agree with Tara here. You shouldn't feel obligated to turn everything inside out to include her, I doubt she expects it, and your wedding should be fun and not stressful.

On the other hand if you really want her in the wedding party, I think your best course of action is to do the following:

Tell all the bride's maids they can have their pick of dress in this color range (like all blues, all bright colors, etc.) and price range (if you're paying), but any style. Then the ones that really like the old dress can still wear it and if you get at least one other maid and your old friend to get different dresses it should be fine.

Hope that helps!

Not mean at all! I appreciate your honestly.. it makes me feel less like a *itch and more like a normal person..

all three girls really like the dress.. it's flowy on the bottom so it will hide lumps and bumps and they wanted to be able to wear a bra so they went with the halter.

I think I'm going to stick with the three and call it a day.... I just don't want to disappoint her. I know my matron of honor wants to be the one to "take care of me" because she already mentioned a bride's day kit and was really excited about it so I don't want to give the new girl another job, like an attendant.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
