  1. @@streelbride Awesome! Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I know what you mean about the set menu's being very difficult. You cant expect all the guests to be ok with one set menu and no options. Because of that reason, it kind of pushed us into having a private reception. We booked the chill out reception from 6-10. For other brides that have gotten married here, and went with the private reception. How necessary is it to bring extra decorations from home, or purchase centre pieces? Do they do a good job of decorating the place without the extras? I was thinking to possibly just purchase nice bouqets for all the bridesmaids, and then if they can provide us with little vases, just use their bouqets as centre pieces. Any suggestions are welcome!! Also.... we have the Riviera Gazebo booked for the ceremony (the sunset was not available). Has anyone opted to go with the ocean gazebo setup for an extra 250 charge? Thanks guys!
  2. Hi everyone! We are in the process of finalizing our details for our wedding at the Grand Sunset Princess for June 2016. Soooo excited and cannot wait for the day to come! We are most likely going to have about 50-60 people, have booked it for June 8th at the Riviera side (we wanted the Sunset but were told it was booked). Do you get a lot of traffic next to the Riviera Gazebo? I was asking about an option to pay the extra $250 and have it right on the beach, but for some reason my travel agent said it can only be done on the Yucatan side, and no kids allowed. Any brides recently get married there? How has things changed as I saw some of the posts were from a few years back. I would love to go with a private option for the reception and do the beach or the chill out lounge, however by the time you add it all up it gets super pricey (and that wasn't the intention with having a destination wedding). I really appreciate any feedback or suggestions! Thanks! Lu
  3. I am also getting married here in 2016.. Any reviews from recent brides? Concerned about the onsite photographers, how good their onsite hairstylists are, and reception details after the ceremony. We have the Riviera Gazebo booked (really wanted the sunset Gazebo, but it was already booked). Is the Riviera Gazebo really out in the open? What section of the beach is it? Thx! Luba
  4. Thanks ladies! Which resorts did you get married at or are planning to get married ? What were your experiences? I'm pretty open to suggestions. I'm working with destinationweddings.com, however my travel specialist is pretty much leaving it in my hands to make a decision. Her response was they're all great resorts so it's up to you. Did you have more guidance from your agents?
  5. We are getting married next June, and I am so excited! I thought picking a desitination wedding was going to be easy, and a lot less stressful than having the main event home (Toronto), but so far seems like there are a lot of things to consider. We cannot make up our minds.. I am leaning more towards the Royalton Riviera Cancun or the Grand Sunset Princess... but haven't been able to decide. Below are some of the other resorts we are considering, and my biggest hurdle is I want to make sure I pick the best resort for the wedding, and a great resort for us and our guests to enjoy. I was hoping to have more of a private ceremony and reception, but am finding that places charge extra for that. Are there some resorts that it is included with? Resorts in the running are: -Royalton Riviera Cancun -Grand Sunset Princess (more affordable for guests) - Riu Palace Mexico or RM (not sure the diff between the two) -Sensatori Azul or another Karisma property that allows kids -Grand Palladium (not sure which of the properties is best) -Barceló (again not sure which one?) I really appreciate your help and feedback! Thanks so much! -Lu
  6. Hi Ladies, I am new to this as well, we are getting married June 2016! Just trying to decide which resort to get married at, but so far I am leaning towards this resort if the pricing doesn't get too crazy. Does anyone have any more info, pictures, pricelists? I love the sky terrace for the wedding! All feedback is really appreciated My email is lubapinzar@@gmail.com Thanks so much!!
  7. Hi Ladies, Getting married June 2016! Does anyone have any pictures of the 3 different areas you can get married? From my understanding you have the 2 gazebos and then the oceanfront? I don't want this to end up costing an arm and a leg, since we are also doing something back home for people who cant make it. What are the options you have for after the ceremony?
  8. Thanks so much for all the info and feedback, this site is soooo helpful. Any recent brides get married here? or planning to get married? We are planning for June 2016 and was hoping to get some information on options after the ceremony. Thanks so much! -Lu
  9. Hi guys! We are considering having our wedding at the grand sunset or Riviera princess, and were wondering what kind of experiences people have had so far? We want to get married on June 8th, 2016! Does anyone have a breakdown of the pricing? The reason we decided to do a destination wedding was less stress and hassle, as well as more cost efficient, but so far it seems like there are a lot of add ons. Other than paying for your trip and the package listed on their website (depending on the one you choose), what other costs are typically added on? How much on average did you spend for your wedding? What did it include? Thanks so much for the info! Really really appreciate it!
