I just received a reminder that my wedding is 5 months away at The Royal-PDC. I am freaking out because i feel like i have so much to do. Please brides can you please let me know what should be done by now! I still need a photographer , dj, hair/makeup appt and favors. Any recommendations? How long does it take to order maracas as favors? I have no decorations either. Is everyone going through the resort for flowers, lighting and decor? What is everyone bringing down with them? Also, I would like my friend to marry us. We are having a symbolic ceremony. Does anyone know how the ceremony goes? And how about a rehearsal? Does the royal provide this? I have no idea what I am doing! Yikes! Thanks everyone!

Hi Everyone, I am getting married may 28 2012 is anyone getting married that day also? I was wondering if the royal has offered anyone room discounts for their guests. I was told the royal cannot guarantee rates and that the room rates can go up or down monthly. I have a little time before my wedding but I am a liitle nervous about the resort selling out and not having any availability for my guests. But I also don't want the rates to keep going up. Has anyone noticed what the rates have been month to month? Have they been increasing or decreasing? Thanks!!! I am still really stressed and have a lot to do but my saves the dates went out finally!! At least our guests are really excited lol!

HI Brides, I finally decided on The Royal-Playa Del Carmen and my wedding date is May 28th 2012! I am so excited! I was wondering how your guests booked their flights and rooms. I have been looking online for deals but the airfare is so high right now. I have contacted a few travel agents but havent seen much more of a deal for my guests. What do you guys recommend? Book online or go through a travel agent for only flights or flights + hotel. Also what have you been quoted for jr. suite? The quote I received seems a little high. Right now its going to cost over $2000 for 2 people. Also do you guys recommend a specific company for airport taxi? Thanks so much! This site is great!!!! ~MrsJohns2be

Hello Ladies, Gents, Soon to be Brides, Brides, I need some help deciding on a resort for my May 2012 wedding. I am doing a Beach ceremony followed by a Beach Reception or on a terrace overlooking the beach for 65 guests. I have narrowed down my choices to 1) The NOW Sapphire or 2) The Royal (Real Resorts) - Playa Del Carmen. I am having a hard time deciding between the two, and may have to toss a coin Any input on either of these 2 resorts or why you chose the Royal or the Sapphire would be very helpful. Brides that have had their wedding at either resort or any one who has done a site visit, I would love to hear your reviews or see any photos. All please respond or send me a PM. I have heard/read great things about each resort and some things that concern me. For example, The Beach at the Royal is not nice, the Sapphire's is better but the food/service, atmosphere is not as good as the Royal. Both are in comparision as for costs. I am unable to do my own site visit so I have to base my choice on reviews and photos which is tough. Thanks so much!!!!

hello Ladies!!! I hope all the wedding planning is going great and fun I finally came across this thread and so happy I did. I have been searching for reviews on the Sapphire and could not find any. Thanks for all the comments, they have been truly helpful. I was hoping someone could send me contact (email) info for either Olivia Rodriguez or Anel Torres. I have been working with Ramon, though he has been very helpful and thorough with his responses, it seems to take a while to hear back from him (it has been 3 weeks, I emailed him multiple times and still have not heard back yet). I am trying to book my wedding date for 5/28/12 as soon as possible since I do not have much time left for the STDs etc. The Royal has been very quick to respond so I may have to choose that resort. I wanted to give the Sapphire one last shot since some of you mentioned working with Olivia and Anel. Also anyone have opinions on The Sapphire Vs The Royal (which is better and why) ... I completely agree. I thought the same thing ... the more people booking rooms for several nights the bigger break you would get. My FI and I chose to have a DW to save money but I might as well have a wedding in the states bc i do not see how I am saving. Does anyone feel in the packages they include unnecessary services that you are already paying some how? Are they negotiating with anyone or giving anyone breaks? I am trying to figure out how to cut costs, any suggestions I would love to hear. So far I am excluding flower centerpieces and just having the boutineer for groom and just having boutquetsfor me and my girls . I am thinking of possibly cutting out the cocktail hour and I was thinking while I take pictures the guests can go to restaurant or bar since its all inclusive then meet for the private reception at a certain time.What does anyone think of this idea? OK or bad? I just cant believe how much they charge for appetizers, alcohol, cake, champagne and dinner per person after the amount included in the package when it is already all inclusive. My guests love to dance so I need to have a DJ. What decorations are you bringing and how are you getting them there? They charge for every little thing. How else can you save money? HI Jane! Thanks so much for posting this review! Your wedding looks so beautiful. The VIM is one of my top choices for my wedding. I was hoping to have it in May of 2012 but just found out you cannot have a beach reception from late April to November so I am not sure what I am going to do ... Any ways, thank you for the tips and information it is helpful! We you able to negotiate anything with the WC? Also where did you get your bridemaid dresses from? I would like to have Coral and turquoise as my colors and coral for the dresses. I love them! Thanks
