  1. @@LoriGran I have no clue about bringing paper lanterns.I see them in most of the photos though Have you reached out to the wedding coordinator to see if they charge more?
  2. @@IrinaPatrick Thanks for the information!! Glad your wedding was a hit. Destination weddings involve so much uncertainty and it is reassuring to hear great feedback. @@DevonAnn We too have selected Palmeras grill for our reception location. We loved the intimacy and elegance of the coral grill but as others have suggested and per Claudia this area gets HOT! Have you found photos of others receptions there? we are really banking of beautiful decorations as I am not pleased at the "Buffet look"
  3. No problem. To those that requested the details I just sent them to your email. Just let me know if you cant open them, @@NurseNurse0101 I would be interested in the location options.
  4. Hello Ladies. We are booked for August 16th 2014 and went with the Tangerine package. I have PDFs of the chair ribbons, menu and tablecloth/ chargers if anyone is interested.
  5. @@Mjones Hi I too am a Barcelo Bride Wedding is August 16th 2014. How is your planning going?
  6. @@mrsnova Did they upgrade your room to the "corner Suite" at the Barcelo? We are wondering what the room is like, does it have a living room or will we need to upgrade?
  7. Hi Lori, We are getting married at the Barcelo on August 16th 2014. We have paid our deposit and are awaiting further details. No photographer yet. But We are laid back. Expecting about 45 people or less.
  8. My Fiancé and I are getting married on August 16th, 2014 at the Palace. We encouraged our guests to book through their website, however they can go to TA they choose. They do not have "group rates" however their rates are by far the best. Guests can book airfare, hotel and travel accommodations. We also created our own online wedding website with hyperlinks to help our guests! I hope that helps. I’m not trying to hock it because he works there, but they truly are the best rates!
  9. Hi Rani, It takes about a week or so to get a response back from the generic email. Just be patient. They work on the Brides who have confirmed their wedding dates ( meaning that they have booked the hotel and have submitted their Itinerary as confirmation) My fiance is in management for CheapCarribbean.com, best prices and no hassle travel. They can book your wedding guests from start to finish in one package prices including transportation and excursions. Check them out on-line. I had a friend who used at TA with Apple and they were AWFUL! The entire group was quoted different prices on the SAME DAY that others booked. When I wrote the TA she literally said in an email that "if she honored that price she would not be making any money." On the day before we left for the trip we found out that she booked my fiance and I as "stand by" (we booked our airfare in March 2012 and the wedding was in June 2012. I know things don't always go smoothly, but this was a huge oversight! Perhaps others have had better luck but this left a sour taste in my mouth!
  10. Hi guys does anyone have any good suggestions for affordable save the dates and invitations? We have booked our wedding for 08/16/2014 at 4pm. I woud like to send out our save the dates this August/ September about 1 year in advance. We have seen quotes for $750 for 100 invitations! That is just nuts! Any suggestions or ideas. We are thinking of doing the boarding pass
  11. Oh this helps so much! Was it possible to have the wedding paid for before you arrived and pay the extras when you arrived? We are not trying to fly to mexico with all of that cash ahhh!
  12. Another question was this in usd or pesos? Did anyone have issues with currency conversion?
  13. FieryNurse, If you would not mind emailing the centerpiece and menu options..Heather.Fitzgerald83@yahoo.com. We are planning an August 2014 wedding at the Palace and are in the baby step phase of planning. ( I just emailed the coordinator but have trolled the websites for months and we also switched from Punta Cana to Riviera Maya!) Can anyone offer any advice as to a time line of when fees are due? Deposits, Final payment (form of payment)when people should book etc? I am VERY nervous to send money away to no mans land so to speak... We want to have the save the dates out by November 2013, Invitations out by Jan 2014, Final head count by April 2014... Am I being unrealistic? Luckily the Hubby-to-be is in the travel industry and will coordinate all travel arrangements for our guests. We have a tentative list of 100 to "invite" realistically may only have 50 show, but are planning a budget for a 100 guests so we can breathe... How was the experience from other brides? How were the family dynamics? Were you surprised that so many guest came/did not show? Were any of your guests offended at their travel costs? In the end I know this is about us, but I want to hear it from he experienced so to speak. Is my anxiety creeping through your screen?
