  1. Thanks, definitely will. I see many of the ladies ended up choosing them for decor.
  2. Hello & Congrats ladies! It’s good to see more Atlantis brides here. LissMiss, we must think alike. We also choose the “Simply Love†package and did the Premium site upgrade. Which sites did you ladies choose? I’m still in the early process of planning also. Right now I’m working with Floral Arts on a quote. I must say they are lightning fast with responses. I’ll let you all know how it goes.
  3. Now I’m convinced the Atlantis attracts all Pisces..lol Congrats!!! I’m so jealous your date is right around the corner. How’s the planning going? Which locations did you choose for your ceremony/reception? I decided on the Flying Fish Knoll-ceremony—still undecided on the reception site. Still waiting to hear if options are available. Dealing with island time during this process drives me crazy, but I guess I’ll just have to get use to it.
  4. Hey! Congrats! I’m so jealous you only have 6 months to go. You definitely picked a great ship, FI and I went on that one last Dec and the Carnival service was awesome compared to other ports. I went on one out of JAX in March and can you believe the stateroom wasn’t even cleaned when we arrived and they totally messed up the preordered décor we requested. I’ve previously sailed out of PC before, but opted for something closer to home, but never again. Were you affected by the itinerary change? I saw that the overnight Nassau itinerary changed to 8-5 the same day. I actually had to switch my wedding date because of it. Luckily I found out prior to signing any contracts. What all did you put in your welcome bags? I definitely needs some ideas…lol Also, did you do a block of cabins with carnival? If so, were their prices competitive with their sales they are always having? I tried blocking rooms at some hotels in Nassau and their group rates we not as great as their sale rates, so I’ll just let my guest decide. I started wondering if cruises were the same.

  6. Hi, Glad to see another Nassau bride! Anne Marie (haven’t worked with her, but I’ve seen her work—BEAUTIFUL!) was right about the weather in Aug being unpredictable due to it being around hurricane season. The last time I went in August the sun was a bit much for me to handle during the day (mid 90s). When it did rain it was only for about 30 mins and the sun never went out of site. I found the best weather in Nov/Early Dec & Late Feb/Mar (before Spring break-it becomes crazy crowded) due to little rain and low 80s temp. I chose 12/14-alittle later in Dec than I would have preferred, but I wanted to coordinated other things. I'm sure the date will work out, dont stress. :-)
  7. Hello All, I must say I got all caught up in the posting that I forgot to introduce myself. My sweetie and I selected 12/14/2013 as our special day at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas. I’ve been engaged since March and couldn’t seem to come up with an official date or plan, but I’m definitely all smiles now. Although I was a little apprehensive about having a destination wedding due to those not able to attend due to age and some with financial restrictions, I am now ecstatic with my decision. I've spend many vacations in the Bahamas/Atlantis and it felt like the perfect place....maybe its the pisces in me...lol Anyway, now I’m here…needing all sorts of ideas and the dos and donts. Happy planning ladies! Nice to meet you all.

  9. KKS, I so feel your pain. I was going to use the Sensation as an option for my guest to arrive to Nassau for my wedding. I ended up using RC because of their 12P-12A itinerary. How did everything go?
  10. I second that, Anna Marie and her staff are awesome. Although I wont be using her as my WP because I have one included with my venue, I’ve witnessed her work at the Poop Deck-Sandy Port while dining/site visiting. It was great, you wont be sorry. I’ve heard great things about her. Budget is definitely key because in reality you still have a life to live after the wedding. The Atlantis, although pricey in some aspects, was a great choice because it’s a special place to me. Like Whatsup said, there are always options. I’m giving my guests the options of 5 star accommodations all the way to 2.5 star, along with timeshare rental options if they choose. I even selected a date that coordinates with multiple cruise ships if that was the journey they chose to take. I felt so bad for one post I saw about a bride that choose another venue over her ideal because it was more cost effective for her guest. Now weeks before her wedding her guest list isn’t even 75% of what she thought it would be and now she’s regretting her choice. In the end, the day should be about what the couple wants, but definitely explore and offer all options. Although Atlantis is great, I will definitely be pushing my guest to explore Nassau and local eateries…after all its their vaca too and there are many great reasonable restaurants like the Poop Deck, Café Matise, and lets not forget the Fish Fry! 11. My budget was $1500, but it tripled without me even realizing it. I stopped by this small bridal salon (Winnie Couture) and instantly fell in love with my gown. Checked out the price tag and nearly fainted. I must agree with AllieH….SAMPLE SALE…that’s what I’m hoping for, but if not I’ll just save…its so worth it to me.
  12. It’s the most important dress of your life…there shouldn’t be any limits. That’s pretty much what I told myself after walking out of David’s.…after I just didn’t get that feeling of “This is the ONE!!!†Like Dazeydawl, I was stuck on one of Maggie’s designs and had to have it. After a week I finally found a sample, but unfortunately it was 3.5 hours away. I literally jumped in my car and drove straight there (Augusta). I’m glad I did because it wasn’t what I thought I was looking for. However, since I was so close to Atlanta, I decided to stay the night. On the way leaving for home, I ended up checking out this cute little bridal boutique: Winnie Couture. I fell instantly in love with two dresses. I acutally almost cried...and I'm not a crier..lol To make a long story short…sometimes that extra drive will save you tears of regret and bring you loads of smiles. Don't limit yourself! You're going for the wedding you want, now get the dress you want! Wish you all the best~ ~A~
