  1. Lindsey, I love your flowers. I got real touch also and loved them, plus all my bridesmaids and I have them displayed in our houses still! My friend is getting married at DRC and I am helping her plan. Did anyone do an IPod instead of the DJ's offered? I did that at my wedding and it was awesome, total control of the songs and all our guests were dancing like crazy. We got tons of compliments on the music too. But our resort gave us the sound system and a mic to use at no cost.
  2. Thank you! The shoes were my "something blue"
  3. Sorry you have to deal with this. We offered to pay for my DH's parents and they said they would rather not go than have us pay. Maybe if you tell him how important it is that he is there, or if you don't tell anyone you helped him out that would make him feel better. Good luck families don't always react to weddings in the best way.

  5. Britten Traughber Photography http://brittentraughber.wordpress.com/ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Britten-Traughber-Photography/316896198923 Britten and her new husband and photographer Burt lived in Central IL but recently moved to Hawaii. Britten was our wedding photographer and she was AMAZING. We choose her because of her Photo-journalistic style and great personality. Britten and her now husband spent a week with our family and friends and we all had a great time together! We can not get over how many pictures she actually took throughout the week. I was very particular about our photographer and at times was worried about getting all the pictures I wanted. Every single picture is amazing and she captured so many great moments. She made not only my husband and I look like models but all the groomsmen and bridesmaids look great too! We can not thank her enough and have a difficult time deciding where to put all the pictures. We did a Engagement session, the ENTIRE Wedding Day and Trash the Dress. All our pictures can be found at http://annetteryansweddingweek.shutterfly.com/professionalweddingpictures or http://photo2.walgreens.com/walgreens/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=10582265007/a=36303239_36303239/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=walgreens/ And here are her blogs about us!! (it is hard to only get a few!)
  6. My bridesmaids that have fine straight hair had issues of getting their hair to curl and stay in the environment/humidity. I felt like the stylists knew how to handle thicker wavy hair better (my mom and I both have) because it is similar to their hair type.
  7. I got my hair done at the hotel salon - Barcelo and they did an amazing job it turned out better than when I had my trial run done here. But my stylist at home made a good point, hotel salons really only do updos and special occasion hair- so they know how to do it well, they have lots of practice. Good luck!
  8. I sent out my invites first about 9 months in advance and then I sent out a reminder postcard to remind everyone to RSVP. I just sent out the RSVP postcards but you can send them farther out if you want to know earlier. It has been working out nice because everyone knew all the information right away and people have been RSVPing from the beginning. Also I did my RSVP on the website or put a phone number. My cousin did it also for a wedding here at home. I saved the extra postage money for the postcards. No one has complained about the RSVP, so I think it worked out well. Plus there is a comments section for people to write a note as they RSVP. GOOD LUCK!!!
  9. Thanks everyone, I am going to ask for a day rate - and not tell them the dirty details!
  10. Hello Everyone, I am trying to book/schedule my BD shoot and have decided to go to a hotel. Did anyone ask for a discounted rate since they were only there for a few hours? I feel awkward asking for a lower rate but they can clean it real fast and have someone else check in by the time I'm gone. Has anyone done this? What price or how much of a discount should I ask for? As always THANKS for your help!
