Odd that I would miss it because the entire rest of the store is arranged just like every other Safeway. GRRRR.. Yes, wine & beer are available, but no liquor. And then the thought translated to Costco...how can I not buy premium liquor in large quantities for a great price?? Yeah, well, gotta travel home to Cali for that one.

One of my good friends in the OC has promised to send me a Costco sized bottle of Ketel One for my bday, but that's not till July!!!

Same here---- In the "dry" cities, they don't even sell beer/wine in grocery stores. When I first moved here, there was a grocery store right out back of my place. After moving and unpacking all day, I ran over there for a bottle of wine. Wandered thru that damn store and couldn't find it. I asked the clerk where the wines were and he said "Garland is dry, ma'am". I asked him what that meant and he gave me a look like I must have spent my life wearing a safety helmet, if you know what i mean.

At least Plano is wet, so we can get beer/wine. But we still have to drive 30 minutes to get our liquor, and we're shutdown on liquor on Sundays too. When we go, we look like lushes because we stock up on everything and walk out about $100-150 lighter in the bank account.

No liquor in NJ grocery stores either? Who knew? My friend in Louisiana goes to the drive-through dacquiri spots.....you can drink and drive but you can't buy on Sundays. The logic is so crazy! I'm learning so much from this thread, thanks Shelley for starting it!

Wait a minute, did you say you can get alcohol delivered?!?!? WOW! I live in PA where we have to buy our alcohol at State Stores (aka alcohol stores) that until like the last couple of years were not open on Sunday. Sometimes you just want a nice glass of wine and too bad for you! oh, and we have to buy our beer at different stores, usually a beer barn or beer depot, sometimes a pizza joint or something like that.

I have heard of the Buzz Aldren and wanted to try it, so i am happy to have the recipe!

Okay I'm going to stop complaining about the no alcohol after 2am in CA thing because you guys have it really tough! State stores are new to me too! Yep, some liquor stores deliver direct but we also have something called Pink Dot that delivers until 3am (alcohol until 2). Pink Dot kicks ass because you can order almost anything.

Like say it's midnight and you don't want to leave the party, Pink Dot will bring you a bottle of Ketel One, condoms, tampons, advil, anything. Even pregnancy tests...lol If you're hungry they'll bring hot food. If you're cooking they'll bring groceries. Usually within 30 minutes.

I swear when I first moved here and lived in the dorms our orders used to go something like this - "Yeah we need a 12 pack of Heineken, a bottle of Jack, zig zags, toilet paper, Marlboros, 3 tuna melts, and rocky road ice cream....oh and Doritos". LOL We were young and lost our minds!

And they only charge $3.50 to deliver, usually within 30 minutes. Look:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
