David Flores (guitar)

Recommended Posts

Hi girls,

DJ Antares recommended me a classical guitar player and when I looked at his website it looks like he is a DJ too. His name is David Flores Velasquez.

www.avlsystems.com.mx

I am going to book him to play guitar at my ceremony and cocktail hour (the demos on his website sound great!) at $250/hr.

I am going to go with DJ Antares for my DJ, since he is friends with David, and David didn't want to steal Antares' business or anything.

His contact info is on his website.

This rate is much cheaper than the $375 I have seen quoted from several wedding planners. If you use him, please tell him that Janet Daly (bride in November at Cabo Surf Hotel) referred you. Thanks!!

Hi Janet,

How did you get ahold of David Flores? I also love the way his guitar music sounds, and have tried both emailing and calling him about playing for my ceremony on August 19, but haven't heard back... And advice?

Thanks so much! And thanks for recommending him!

Hi Lauren,

You know, he hasn't emailed me back in a few weeks now - SO frustrating! I don't know why either? We talked about price, confirmed date, and I was just about to pay him a deposit and he disappeared....So, I am kinda stressing about it too. I guess better that he disappeared BEFORE I paid him, but still, I really want him to play at my wedding...

So, I'm really sorry, and I will keep you posted if I hear anything - will you make sure you post if you hear from him too? Thanks!!

Hey Janet!

I finally heard back from David Flores last night (after at least 2 weeks). He did apologize for the delay. All he told me was that he has my wedding date in his agenda . . . and to let him know if I need anything else. He didn't mention any kind of deposit or contract, which I thought was a little odd. Do you think this is his standard protocol, or do I just need to keep bugging him to make this deal more "official"?

Sometimes this whole international communication thing can be so frustrating!!!

I hope you've had some luck getting in contact with him.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Lauren, I also booked David Flores. He said the same thing - he doesn't do contracts, just puts you in his calendar. Makes me nervous too, but I'm just planning on following-up with him when I get to Mexico for the wedding. Nicole

Hi girls,

Just wanted to let you know that David Flores finally wrote me back today (which people kept saying he would do eventually, but it was good to hear from him anyway). Of course, he was totally nonchalant about it... he said:

"Hello Janet, dont worry you can write me all the times you need, and I have

the day in my calendar for you, so we dont have any problem for your

wedding, I hope to see you realy soon here in Cabo, and thank you very much

to choice my services."

So, I just hope all the people who are hiring him before November (my wedding month) are happy so I don't stress about it. I am going to try to meet with him in June when I am down there...I'll keep you all posted!

Has anyone hired AVL Systems as their DJ? I've been in contact with David Flores since June. He says we're booked, but I still have yet to see a song list or feel confident he'll show up at my wedding next month. Any feedback? I'm wondering if I should go another route at this point...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
