Dw Wedding After Postponing But I Am Ok. Introducing Me.

Hi everyone.  I am planning to marry my sweetheart of a whole lot of years (lol) on 2/14/16 in Puerto Rico.  We were to have married this Saturday, 9/5/15 here in Maryland but had to postpone while my FH deals with a medical issue.  This past month has been so emotionally difficult for us both and our families.  We went from a 30 day countdown to no countdown at all.  This was after planning for 1.5 years. :(   But it is OK.  What matters the most is my FH's health. I mean we can always choose another day for a wedding but without my man there's no wedding, right?  The good news is that he is responding well to treatment and has an excellent prognosis for a complete recovery.   :)

Since having to postpone our wedding my FH has talked nonstop about wanting to marry me ASAP after he gets through with his treatment.  We got a lot of people suggesting that we go to the JOP but we really wanted to have a ceremony.  My DH suggested going to an island with just immediately family and the closest of friends and to do it early in 2016 and then have a big reception.  So here I am planning a DW.  I am super excited and can't wait for our BIG DAY.

I look forward to planning with you all and reading all about your wedding day.

@@ValentineMrs2Be  Congrats and welcome! Puerto Rico is a beautiful place for a wedding! Have you decided where? If you need any help, the site owner here is also a travel agent - Wright Travel. They are destination wedding specialists and I'm sure would be happy to help in any way possible. A good TA will free you up to deal with your planning while they work with your guests for bookings and questions. Plus you never know if there might be little extras or perks that you might possibly get from having a group. A TA can tell you that. here is the link to contact them if you like. http://wrighttravelagency.com/inquiry/

I'm glad to hear your FI is responding to treatment and that the prognosis is good. That's the most important thing! We're renewing our vows next month for very similar reasons and I'm still around to celebrate.

You'll find the ladies here more than happy to help with suggestions and ideas. Knowing where you want to be and your date gets you off to a great start.

Good luck and happy planning!

Congratulations I am glad your FH is doing better. And Puerto Rico is really nice. Been there a couple of times. The beaches there are really nice you are going to have a really nice wedding there.

Thank you.  My FH went there for work earlier this year and fell in love with PR.  When the idea of a DW came up PR was his immediate choice.  :-)

So glad to hear your fiancé is recovering well! It sounds like a DW is the way to go :) Something beautiful with just your closest family and friends surrounding you is ALWAYS a wonderful idea -- as a wedding photographer, I absolutely LOVE small intimate affairs because they are much more personal and they are fueled with so much emotion and love for the couple. My husband and I actually got married on the 10th anniversary of our first date, so I know what it means to have to wait LOL. But remember, good things come to those who wait -- I think your celebration is going to be amazing. Wishing you both the very best as your journey toward your Big Day  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
