@@snswedding2016 thank you so much for joining, even with your hectic schedule! I'm glad you and Sean have been tackling this goal together. You have plenty of time to accomplish your goal. You're such a determined and motivated person, I have no doubts you'll rock your health goals and your new business venture too

@@dreamweddings I just started the thread but this group would be nothing if it wasn't for all the beautiful women who have already been so supportive of each other. Thank you very much for the well wishes and thank you for helping out brides who may want to go through this in a less public forum

@ I should really try out a barre class. Maybe I'll get my bridal party to join me, it should be tons of fun. Now I wonder if anyone has that Beyonce class? Lol

@@Janjin you're not late at all! The Thursday mark us just a day to post the steps you've taken in the week to accomplish your health and wedding goals. I admire your determination and congrats on losing 30lbs, that's amazing! And wow, the nyc marathon? That's awesome!

How's everyone doing on this beautiful Sunday?

Hope you're all having a great weekend and keeping up with your goals.  Let's remember that we are all beautiful just the way we are. Losing weight/getting in shape is for ourselves, no one else, and we have already taken a big step by joining this group and supporting each other.

We can do this ladies!!!

Thanks Dee for your support!

I'm proud of myself. I tracked my calories all weekends. They have always been my hardest where it's be a fee for all and really undo all the hard work I did all week! I allowed myself some extra calories but stuck to it. Yay!

Also I haven't been to the gym in 3 weeks. I've been a little 'lazy' so yesterday we decided to go for a hike as a family. We went and hiked around the trails in Banff for 2 hours. Was nice to do it together and still great exercise.

Goals for this upcoming week 1. Get to the gym lol

2. Keep up on my calorie counting. I will assess how it's working after next weekend. I've considered trying a new program if need be.

Love your goals. They are good ones. I could relate to some. When the kids are gone husband and I eat out a lot. He actually suggested we have Chinese this weekend. I said if I can stick to my goals thru the weekend to the next we could have Chinese. It's nice to think of it as a reward to me. And limiting your 'I deserve' treats as you've mentioned. I think I let that get away from me and just completely took as I wished. Gotta real that back in too :)

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me joining in.

This feels like an A A meeting ( not that I've been to one ) so here goes!

My names is Shelly and I am 35 years old and getting married on 14 October 2015. I was always a chubby child but lost the weight when I was around 16/17. I went off the rails for a while as I came from a strict religious family who were trying to arrange a marriage for me by the time I was 18! I left home when I finished my A Levels and partied hard for a few years! The weight stayed off until I met my other half in 2000! I was okay the first couple of years as we were travelling with work but once we settled down with steady jobs the weight just crept on. I noticed it but never really gave it much thought until we went to Egypt and I saw photos when we returned!

My FI has a naturally small frame so when we met I could easily fit in his shirts and jeans. But now I think I am twice his size! It doesn't help that he has been quite poorly for a number of years and lost weight and is now severely underweight! He is fine now and is slowly gaining a little weight. Next to him though I look obese!

I lost around 35lbs when we got back over around 8 months as we were planning on getting married in Mexico a few years back but bad news stopped that and some of the weight crept back on! I have kept a little off but really need to lose another 35lbs to be comfortable. I know this will not happen before the wedding but the plan is to lose this, or as much as possible, in the next 6-7 months before my next birthday in March.

I have some exercise Dvds which I started a few months back but struggle with knee problems so tend to improvise on those.

My goal is to exercise at least 4 times a week ranging from 40-60 minutes and tone up at the same time. Then increase to 5 times when I return from Mexico.

I am working 6 days as we are short staffed for the foreseeable future with long hours during the day but will fit this in!

@@maybeoneday welcome!  The more the merrier  :)

Your goals sound good!  Don't exhaust yourself too much though, remember that rest is just as important.  With your hectic work schedule, meal prepping will definitely help when it comes to making healthier eating choices.  Take a couple hours twice a week to prepare meals and snacks for the next couple of days - hard boiled eggs, cut up veggies, chicken and rice/quinoa... and make sure you make time to eat these meals so you don't get to the point of starvation.  Not eating enough can initially help you to lose weight but it more harmful to your body as it will go into starvation mode and store any food you put into your body (aka fat).  Make sure you're drinking lots of water too!

If you need any workout tips, food tips etc, you know where to come!

@@deecol thanks for the motivation and the encouraging words!

I'm sorry I've been MIA, we had a bad storm here in BC and we just got our power back after 48 hours with no electricity. With no power meant I ate a lot of crap. Take out was all we could do Well now it's time to kick it in gear! I will be cutting off fast food the rest of this week and I'm going to kick butt in bootcamp today!!!

@@Meandhim welcome to our group! I'm glad you've joined us!

@@calgarybride2015 great job over the weekend! That's great that you guys went out for a family activity. Hikes are a great way to get out, exercise and get some fresh air. I was gonna take the dog out a lot this weekend since we had nothing else to do bc of the power outage. Once our neighbour's tree toppled over, we figured being outside probably wasn't a good thing

@@Wafflesmom Glad to hear you're okay!  Totally understandable that a diet wouldn't necessarily be the easiest and most important thing to think about when you have no power.  I think you can be forgiven this time lol :P

@@deecol thanks for the support I hate power outages and have never had it last this long! It's so sad how much food I'm throwing away. Luckily we had a mini generator that we were able to use to power our deep freeze. We went on a fishing trip last month and if it wasn't for our generator, we would have had to throw out 93lbs of salmon. That would have been depressing!

Hello everyone! I'm happy to say I had a successful week last week and only had small cheats on the weekend as opposed to full meals I only cheated with snacks. I also am proud to say my cheat snacks still fit within my calories for the day! Because of this, I've lost about 2lbs over a week and a half! We are going to a wedding in 2 weeks and I want to lose another 4lbs by then which means I really need to up my working out. I worked out twice last week which isn't like me. I need to do more! My goal is for 4-5 workouts this week!

Never skip a Monday! Lets do this!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
