@yycbride2016 Your dress looks beautiful! I'm so happy you found her (specifically your dress lol)! FI's always know the perfect things to say, right? Glad he tried making it better by helping you contact your alterations lady :) The jewelry will look amazing too!

Ok update time (I know I've been MIA again, this new job is kicking my butt!)

We are finally into the double digit countdown! I took a picture when my countdown was at 99 days but forgot to post because we are actually at 94 days now! I'm so excited yet so nervous! It's coming so fast!

Countdown

I got my cake topper a few weeks ago and its so sparkly its a little hard to read so hopefully it will work in mexico. Cake toppers were so expensive so I opted out of going for the starfish mr & mrs one I originally wanted. But this one still had a nautical theme so I think its pretty cute!

Cake topper

I also finally got my wedding jewelry!! Its so sparkly its not even funny! I LOVE it! It has a string of pearls ending with a crystal down the back which I think will be gorgeous with my dress. I got earrings, necklace, and bracelet all for just under $100, so I think thats a pretty good deal!

Jewelry

Today was super productive as well!!! We planned to get our groomsmen's suits and we got them! Yay! I forgot to take a picture though.. of course

________________________________________________

Ok so that ^ above was clearly old… We are now down to 64 days :S I started to write that post and then life got hectic once again.

So as I was saying we had a super productive day where we bought our groomsmen dress pants and vests. They look super sharp. We tried on multiple different pants and vests. I really wanted a vest that had a pocket on the chest for the pocket squares I bought for the groomsmen but these were such a good price that we just couldn’t resists. Pants plus vests came to about $90 each! We stopped into the store the weekend before black Friday and the store manager was helping us and told us he would give us the Black Friday deal a week early! It was so nice of him! We told our groomsmen that they needed to buy a dress shirt themselves and pay for any alterations since we wanted to pay for their suits as a gift.

Once we were finished with the groomsmen Kyle and I decided to go back into the store and look at a suit he was eyeing up. We hadn’t intended on getting his suit for a few more weeks but since it was a good deal again we went for it. A little background behind the suit. Kyle is trying to gain weight and put on muscle right now. He has actually gained 13lbs  now so he’s really pumped on that (normally he struggles to put weight on). So the manager at the store (Tip Top Tailors), told us that if he gains enough weight that the pants or jacket or vest are too large for him that if we keep the tags on he will just swap them for the correct size when we bring them in to get tailored at the end of January. So for those couples who the groom is looking to gain or lose weight this is an awesome option! We are so happy with that outcome. We also found Kyle a nice black tie with a hint of teal in it in the black Friday sales the following week. We are so happy things have come together.

We still have lots we need to complete though. I am going in for a dress fitting again tomorrow (Monday the 21st). I’m just unhappy about the chest (or my lack there of). I want to bring it in and see if the seamstress can do anything about. Not sure if she can take it in or add “chicken cutlets”.

Kyle and I celebrated our 5th year anniversary up in the mountains back in November and that was so nice to get away from all the stress of work, planning the wedding, working out, etc. We had a wonderful weekend that got us really excited to get married!

I’ve been really good about my working out lately. I’m 11 days into my brand new program called The Masters Hammer & Chisel! Its a weight lifting/ body weight cardio styled workout program that is 60 days. I’m cutting it pretty close with the wedding being only 64 days away and 49 days left to go. That means I have to be diligent over the xmas break!

I have a lot planned on my wedding to do list for the xmas break. Since my family won’t be coming to visit me this year I should hopefully have more time to get things done. My list:

  • Find/buy/make wedding vow books
  • Dress alterations
  • Figure out a sound system for our at home reception
  • Finish buying decorations for our at home reception (IKEA)
  • Organize all wedding decor to make sure we have enough
  • Start communication with the resort
  • Pick excursions for the trip
  • Sort something old/ new/ borrowed/ blue
  • Test photo booth tech
  • Book honeymoon (Hawaii)
  • Book my future appointments (mani/pedi, eyebrows, wax, massages, ect.)
  • Make another 6 twine wrapped wine bottles

I will report back post xmas with how much I actually accomplished over the holidays haha. Might not be as much as I had hoped.

Have an amazing christmas ladies and gents. I hope santa is good to you and your families! xoxo  :)

Glad everything is coming together. 64 days will fly by!!

Your jewelry is gorgeous and will look fantastic with your dress :)

Great deal on the groomsmen and groom outfits and that's awesome TTT will adjust sizes if need be. Makes it less stressful.

I think your cake topper is fabulous and the more sparkly the better :)

Your to do list is manageable. Enjoy your holiday!!!

I love everything you've bought for the wedding so far! Your jewellery is beautiful and such a good price too. As for the cake topper, I didn't find it hard to read at all and it suits your nautical theme perfectly.

And what a great deal on the groomsmen attire. That's a huge check off the list so congrats :) And that's great that Tip Top is so accommodating, especially with Kyle's suit.

And if he's as dedicated to working out as you are, you two will be the fittest bride and groom ever! You're killing it with the workouts. Great job!

I'm sorry to hear about your job

Your dress is very pretty! Did you end up figuring something out with the top? Mine had the same problem, it had a tiny little waist but the cups were huge! I don't even know how would anyone fit into that dress perfectly unless you were a model. I ended up getting those stick on bras and that helped a little. I bought mine at David's Bridal and, taking after some of the ladies here I call them the chicken cutlets, because that's what they look like haha. I've seen some at La Senza as well, but they're made out of fabric rather than silicone. I think those might be better as they seem to have more structure.

The countdown is on! I love the men's suits, they look very nice.

@calgarybride2015 thanks! I can't believe how fast the last month has gone so I'm sure the next 2 are going to fly by even faster, which scares me. Thanks I absolutely love the jewelry! It's so sparkly and so me!

@rebeccarpeck thanks! I love my jewelry too! I got it on Etsy! Such a good deal for 3 pieces of jewelry!

@Wafflesmom thanks hun! I thought the cake topper was going to be more glittery than shiny. So that's all I was thinking but it's still cute! Yeah I'm so happy we checked off the groomsmen and grooms attire in one day! Such a relief! And yeah Kyle and I have been so dedicated to working out lately. We want to look good for our wedding day and the whole week on the beach! Motivation is high right now! Now to manage Christmas cookie intake haha.

@TinkerSofi thanks! I'm so happy with my dress. I went in on Monday for a consult on the top of the dress. It's going to cost me another $415+get to fix the issues with the top. The seamstress told me it's too big for me. Which is exactly what I thought. She pinned everything for me and is going to seeing some bra cups, and I had to move around like that and the dress for my body so much better. I actually like my size now. Before I felt larger than i was because of all the empty space up top. I was so hesitant to spent another $415 on the dress when I've already spent $380 on the initial alterations, but like Kyle told me, you only get married once so enjoy it and money is just money. He's so sweet!

I forgot to post a few updates!

We booked our legal wedding ceremony! Call me crazy but we are getting married the evening before we fly to Mexico. Our ceremony will be at 5pm on February 19th. We had to have an evening ceremony because my sister is a teacher and I wanted her there as a witness. We are planning on going out for a dinner with both parents after the ceremony but I'm so worried that we won't have enough time to finish packing or I'll be up till 4am making sure we have everything. But it will be nice because Kyles grandma can't come to Mexico so we wanted her to be apart of our wedding. She didn't quite understand why we were having 2 weddings but we did our best to explain it to her haha.

I bought the mothers gifts. I bought two bracelets from Stella and dot since I know they both like S&D

I also got my sister a maid of honor gift. I got her a Stella and dot pavé wishing bracelet. I also have a small gold elephant bracelet that I may give her too since she loves elephants. Attached File  ImageUploadedByTapatalk1450884607.242999.jpg   42.11KB   10 downloads

We finally agreed on some fathers gifts. When we were in tip top tailors on Black Friday getting kyles ties we found cuff links for the dads. My dad is big into motorcycles and kyles dad loves golf so we got them each some fun cuff links (these aren't the exact ones, I couldn't find a picture online but these are almost identical): Attached File  ImageUploadedByTapatalk1450884694.188244.jpg   49.86KB   10 downloadsAttached File  ImageUploadedByTapatalk1450884700.588802.jpg   118.56KB   10 downloads

We also got Kyle some cuff links but I'll have to take a picture of them at home.

@calgarybride2016 do you remember how far out from your wedding you started communicating with the wedding coordinator. We are exactly 2 months out today and I haven't talked to one, so I'm wondering if that will happen maybe in January?

Oh my gosh! I really have been MIA lately! I forgot so many things to tell you ladies! We have also passed out final payment date. Our guests had to be paid in full by December 1st. We were getting so worried with the TA said on Dec 1 she was still waiting for a few people but I put out a reminder and they all paid thankfully. We did lose one guest unfortunately :( we were sad that our good friend wouldn't be able to make it because of starting a new job that same month but we completely understood. It was a shame because one of our groomsmen was rooming with him and so the cost of his trip went up about $200.

We ended up getting credit back for 1 flight from Transat. We decided we would split that money amongst our wedding party. So it worked out to $300/ person. And our one groomsmen is getting $480 to cover the cost of his trip going up. We felt bad so we wanted to cover his extra fees.

But at least everyone is now confirmed and that means we are still eligible for our free wedding, but only JUST eligible haha. Hopefully nothing else changes now!

Ohhhhhhh and my sister has started planning my bachelorette party! It's all going down a month before the wedding: January 23rd! We are doing a pretty chill night though. Girlie movies, cocktails, mani-pedis, and we hired a makeup artist to come in and teach us how to do the perfect smoky eye make up! So exciting! I think it will be really fun. Basically a giant slumber party!

Next is to plan the bridal shower which I think my sister will plan alongside my future mother in law!

Ok i think I've actually updated everything hahaha

Your gifts are fantastic. They'll love them :)

I think having your legal the night before is perfect. You can finish your packing the 2nd last night and the next
AM then let go of it all for your legal!!!! I didn't have much of anything to do my last full day!!

I didn't get my email until about 1 month before so you have time. It was actually right at about this time last year (sob) so hang in there :)

Glad you still got your numbers!!!! It's too bad he can't come. Most employers appreciate pre planned holidays etc. but glad it worked out.

Oh I love all of your gifts, they're so thoughtful :)

And I'm so glad your final payment went through without a hitch. It's a shame you lost one but that's really outside his control. At least he'll get to celebrate with you guys at your AHR

And your stagette sounds awesome! Sounds like a fun pampering night. That's on my wedding day so it sounds like you and I will be partying that day ;)
