I'm very new to this site and wedding planning. Hope I can find some other brides here planning to get married here at Secrets Wild Orchid. I just put my deposit down for May 28th, 2016. Memorial weekend. Would love to hear from others that are planning or in process of planning their wedding ;-) ????

welcome to BDW!  We were just at Secrets Wild Orchid in May.  A great resort and do not miss the jerk chicken cart.  AMAZING!

You may want to contact TA Babs.  She has booked many weddings there and has some great exclusive promos.

@@KG1990......Congratulations and welcome to the site.  You will find great info here.  Secrets was my first choice of resorts, however, we invited guests with children.  Later on found out that the guests with children would not be attending and my date was booked at Secrets!!!

However, I have toured Secrets twice and it is a lovely resort.  You will have a beautiful wedding.

Again, congrats!

I am not a Secrets bride. I was at Secrets St James last week (same preperty as Wild Orchid). I saw a beach wedding that left me in happy tears. It was so beautufil. Dont miss the jerk chicken cart or the Coconut guy. Or the pool entertainmemt guy (i forget his name but you will know who he is) service was 10 stars and the Jamaicans make you feel like you are at home..they nvr say no! Attaching pics. I'm on the 6 months countdown. So it is now time to get serious about my planning. Next up, ordering wedding invitations, and purchasing my veil. Looking forward to meeting "The Jerk Chicken Man". : - )

Congratulations! You will love Secrets we went a few years ago and knew it was where we wanted to get married when we got engaged! I love this resort because it is newer, you get the perks of both St. James and Wild Orchid (you can barely tell when you transition over from one side to the next). There are a ton of restaurant and bar options and no reservations which is nice (except for the hibachi restaurant). It really is a great resort!

Congratulations! The Jerk Chicken is phenomenal, I would ask my fiance to get me a water bottle and he would come back with chicken instead when we were there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
