Thanks for the suggestions on the tanning issue @, @@calgarybride2015, @@deecol, . It may have been too strong, although I don't consider myself to be very fair skinned. I don't tend to burn, but I also don't really get a dark tan, even if I try. It's weird because it was blotchy on my back - not like my entire back was red. I don't think it would have been the way I was lying on the bed (unless my back fat was getting in the way LOL) since it was in the middle of my back, not on the sides. But those are some good tips to shift around to ensure a more even tan. I have heard that stand-up beds can be an issue as you end up not tanning where your "girls" droop LOL Can anyone comment on that?

And appreciate the sympathy regarding the "PITA" guests haha @@deecol & @@Wafflesmom. I'm not too concerned about it - if they come, they come. But it's just annoying.

Tanning beds are a bit different than the sun I find. I rarely burn and I have my mom's romanian skin, so I don't usually have an issue getting brown, but usually the first couple of times in the tanning bed I go a bit red. Usually it subsides by the next day for me.

Hi ladies! I've been waiting to update you on my bachelorette party until I had some photos to share, but I still don't have anything, so I will post them later. It was a really fun night and pretty low key, as I had hoped.

We started with a private wine tasting for the 10 of us. Really yummy wines with some nibbles. And my friends were super sweet, chipping in to get me a really expensive bottle of wine of my choosing. We also played a "newlywed" type of game. I got 4 wrong haha (out of 10), but I was lucky in that I kept drawing "punishments" where I could pass them onto other people. The only thing I had to do was the macarena haha. Here was the poster the winery made up:

Then we headed to restaurant #1. I shared a delicious octopus salad & crab pasta dish with my MOH. And I was treated to some bubbles. Then onto restaurant #2, where I shared a prawn appy and some wine. And finally onto restaurant #3 where I was too full to eat most of what I ordered. And then I dropped a margarita on the table and that was kinda the end of the evening LOL.

Oh, one of the highlights of the night was seeing Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones). I guess I texted Jeff that we had seen “Peter Dinkage” and he thought we were at a midget stripper show. BAHAHA

Overall, it was a great night and a fun weekend. My MOH was visiting from out of town, so we did a lot of shopping, eating & drinking! (It was not good for my pre-wedding diet, let me tell you!). I bought my lingerie and some hair accessories (decided to exchange what I had and get something different for a half-up-do), so I think I now have everything that will be on my body for the wedding day. Haha.

On other topics, I’ve made some really good progress on my to-do list:

  • send info to MC as requested (timeline, email addresses so he can ask people for silly stories about us, etc.)

  • undergarments/lingerie

  • hair accessories

  • put together program fans & label/stuff welcome letter envelopes

  • get to the tanning salon! - I’ve been 3 times now. Last time I used the lowest power bed, didn’t get any redness (guy at the tanning salon said it could be a heat rash) and I’m starting to see a bit of a tan.

  • book our honeymoon transportation in Costa Rica

  • start filling out the form for the WC - IN PROGRESS

  • order place card & table number artwork

Next up:

  • Dress alterations. Minor, probably just taking in at the waist a bit.

  • Work on playlist. Jeff is supposed to be doing this, but he has made little headway, so I may have to get involved! We’ve downloaded the Wedding DJ app.

  • Finalize seating plan (we are doing assigned tables, not seats)

  • Figure out signature drink - something green/with limes. Any suggestions (other than a standard margarita)?

  • Draft final email (events for the week, phone plan/apps, meal choice)

It’s getting so close! 39 days until we leave & 43 days until our wedding! CRAZY.

Sounds like a lovely bachelorette party  :) Glad that it was exactly what you were hoping for and not an a penis-filled event since that's not your style.

How cool that you saw Peter Dinklage (and got a funny autocorrect story out of it too)! Living downtown Toronto I see celebrities from time to time, but he would have topped any of the famous people I've seen around here.

Your to-do list seems pretty similar to mine, except I haven't been introduced to my WC yet (should be in the next few days). Very manageable! Hope your dress fitting goes well - I know you've been working hard and it's been paying off. You're going to look amazing in your dress

@vancouverpeutunia

I'm so sorry - I've missed so much!

I've found the booking process with friends & family to be so frustrating. It's also been very eye opening. We had a ton of people who just never bothered to say they couldn't come but continue to talk with us as if nothing happened or is happening (ie. our wedding!). It's amazing how poor people's communication can be. Any update on your friend looking to get on your group transfer or the couple from Australia? Hurry up people. This wedding is coming fast!

Late to the tanning topic but I struggle tanning in tanning beds too. Always burn at first and have these pressure points on my back that will not tan (literally two white spots lol). Move around every few minutes and make sure you use one of their overpriced lotions - they really do help your tan!

Sounds like you had a great bachelorette party. Must have been great to have your MOH make it in from out-of-town! Ps. Love your FI's response to your autocorrect haha I might be more fan-girl but I have no idea who that is...probably because I've never watched Game of Thrones lol

Your to-do list is getting shorter and shorter! I can't believe your wedding is so soon!

I quickly went on Pinterest looking for drink inspiration for you and there are so many green cocktails - especially with St Patrick's Day around the corner. Have you looked?

Here's one idea but go on and take a look!

Good luck with your dress alterations!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
